More work on line heaviness ft. woodhulls, which I think I did better at this time. I'm afraid to tweak the pen settings because I think I'll forget how to change them back, it took a little while to get to a satisfying setting. But sometime the pen is too sensitive, resulting in sometimes messy lines. I've been learning to be more relaxed with linework though, to not obsess over perfect curves or straights. Shading in b/w is getting easier, too.

enough reclaiming slurs, I think in 2023 we should reclaim nascar. they banned the confederate flag on all properties & their stance on lgbtq+ isn’t just performative bc in 2013 they fined a driver 10k for using a homophobic slur, condemned indiana in a statement for an anti lgbt law, and partnered w carolina’s lgbt+ chamber of conference in 2022. nascar was founded by anti-cop moonshiners/bootleggers who drove suped-up fords to out-run the police. #yaaascar

Abraham always took me as being like a little nervous dog - A huge pain that you let sit in your lap because you feel some little pity for it, then it bites you for no reason. the pity continues anyway because he's small in a big world. i like to think that Abraham in real life was a little less of a pathetic wet sock, but Turn!Abe has his moments. few between, but sometimes they're worth the multitude of times he's disappointing, betraying, and overall making stupid decisions you know he kind of reminds me of a more loathsome white Shinji Ikari but with even worse timing in his character development this isn't to mean i hate him, just about every character in this show has some pretty unsympathetic moments, he just has more than usual for a protagonist

ive been reading Pride and Prejudice for the first time. I'm midway through chapter 4 so far. my bigbrain review is this the Bennett family feels like the setup of a sitcom, not in a 'funny haha' kind of way, but more like (imagine that man's voice from early-aughts 'this summer' movie commercials) 'Mr. and Mrs. Bennett have nothing in common! She's a worrier, and he's just too cool to care! after marrying for convenience, can they put aside their differences to the sake of their kids?' and maybe find the meaning of true friendship along the way

also Darcy is a big nut and spent the entire party standing in the corner looking like this

talking exclusively to his one (1) friend and insulting every Female he encountered. overwhelming weeaboo nihilist/athiest vibes. like if Elizabeth liked pokemon he'd be like let me guess, you like pikachu? eevee?

i mean i wasn't born yesterday, he's the protagonist and i supposedly will warm up to him later but for now he's got a reputation of saying

just saying it was kind of Bingley to give his loser friend a chance and invite him to the social. guy clearly has so many other friends but he chose to bring Darcy the Hedgehog so that he can see sunlight and touch grass for the first time in ten years

also Bingley's name, every time i read it, i kept thinking of this old relic

on another note, i vibe with the eldest Bennett daughter, tbh. i used to be a huge apologist/people-pleaser, like a family mediator. the kind of person susceptible to thinking 'but what if they have a sad backstory? :(' she kind of reminds me of Fluttershy for some reason? like reading her lines im reading it in a fluttershy voice

Elizabeth hasn't really done anything yet? She's started a rivalry with Darcy which is respectable and something i can get behind. immediately calling out this man's negging was a good judgement call on her part (so far)
