Probably the biggest box of anything I ever received. Getting this shit made me feel like it was Christmas and I haven't felt that for actual Christmases in a good minute.

E3 is officially over
Any E3 memories you would like to share?
I saw the news and it was really disappointing to see it end but after the events that happened during and post-pandemic it became an unfortunate inevitability. I feel like the writing was really on the wall the moment you had a major studio like Sony decide they were above E3 and basically hold their own event specifically for themselves. E3 especially became expendable when they showed how Summer Games Fest could ultimately take its place. It's kind of crazy how the dude from GameTrailers just took over everything video games and now E3 joins OG G4 in the digital underground.
Speaking of G4TV, I really missed getting to watch all the E3 events through them. It was like their fucking WrestleMania and we got to see it on television.
While we are fortunate to have other alternatives it certainly won't replace the vibe and the spectacle that E3 once had. I'll regret never getting to experience it myself. As far as I'm concerned E3 2019 was the series finale and getting to have Keanu Reeves repping Cyberpunk 2077 for that was quite the highlight that I'll never forget. I'll also never forget finding out about that game called Unravel and the entire wholesome presentation for it. That alone sold me on the game and it actually really set the tone for just what type of experience that was going to be. Still to this day the most touched a video game has ever made me feel.
And then there's that one Cammy from the Street Fighter event but we won't get into that.
I'm also in a way going to miss ALL the awkward hold for applause moments. Like, these people would be stubborn and wait for those hands to move. Nobody would keep the presentation going. "You ain't clapping for this mobile game? Well, I'll fucking wait till you do."

I was thinking about the Kill la Kill game again, and I while I'm disappointed in it, it wasn't because it was bad just because it wasn't the type of game I wanted. Like for years I heard the rumor that the Bayonetta crew were approached to make a Kill la Kill a game and I'm like "DAMN, that's a match made in heaven, practically born to do that shit." And reality said "fuck that, you get the Guilty Gear guy's" and it's like "okay that still sounds pretty cool, so will it be easy to learn/hard to master polished 2d fighter like Dragon Ball Figherz?" Reality slaps me in the face again and goes "NO, it's a arena fighter where half of the cast move pool are projectiles, also there's only 10 characters in the base game" And I'm like, "why did a game that's barely has the same amount content and niche reach as a 2000's game?" Because other than the single player mode and MAYBE the diarama mode IF has as much as the first Naruto game on Gamecube.
Also, I know this is mostly because I play on Switch and Switch games that aren't first party usually don't have high online activity unless they're Smash, Mario Kart, or Splatoon but I also feel like this is a case study that having online multiplayer isn't enough to keep games like this afloat. I don't even remember if the game has a arcade mode just the main IF story, vs, and the kumite survival mode.
I enjoyed what I got out of the experience but I was also disappointed that there wasn't more to it. It's the same way I felt about Black Clover: Quartet Knights. I feel like we were in a "once in a lifetime" type of scenario where a lot could have been utilized and milked for all it's worth cause it's fucking Kill La Kill; who knows if we'll ever get to that point again. Sadly I think the fact that it doesn't have that larger hype and audience behind it like DBZ has and Naruto ultimately gained after it's first game is probably why it only went as far as it did.

Spider-Man 2 is such a Spider-Man 2.
It manages to take everything that made this iteration of the world work in the first 2 games and pushes it to its next level which is exactly what you should want out of a sequel.
When you look forward to something so much a part of you wonders if it can even live up to the hype you've built in your head but this game exceeded many of my expectations. They gave me everything I wanted and then some with a story that was more than worth the wait. It delivered the exact tone and pulled out the exact sort of emotions you should have when dealing with a tale of Kraven and the symbiote. Nothing short of phenomenal. Spectacular one might even say.
I just trust this version of the Spider-Man universe with so much and it has yet to disappoint me. I look forward to seeing what Insomniac does with Wolverine even more now and the inevitable Spider-Man 3.

Insomniac saw all the discourse about MJ from the first game and said "BET".
There's just something in me that latches on in appreciation to certain, not all, but certain cases where someone will just go "I have a vision and your bitching ain't gonna stop me".

I will always appreciate how much these people just seem to get the heart and soul of Spider-Man and it always shows in their CG trailers.

Remember that My Hero Academia Battle Royale I mentioned way back? It's finally coming out of beta for all systems
God, before that is that event with previews of all the Netflix adaptation shows
Then the Sonic Frontiers update the same day
and then going into October we got Mario
MORE Sonic
And Spiderman 2
gamers are fucking eating this year
It's always something to me how every other year in gaming has an extreme "we want ALL your money" run where you have nothing but bangers and money makers dropping back to back to back. Still can't believe MK1 already came out last week. I'm also really liking what I'm seeing with Ultra Rumble as well so that definitely will have to end up checked out and my soul's already sold to Spider-Man 2. Also, Scott Pilgrim's getting straight binged the second it drops. That can't get here fast enough.

Megan Fox is Nitara! I love that they aren't holding back on the Jennifer's body references.
I think it's about time we as a community got more mileage out of Jennifer's Body.
