man all that hit me like a sack of bricks. fuck. i'm gonna have to think for a hot minute here. there's not so much to analyze as there is to just observe. that shit was insane. love for humanity versus the love for a younger brother. GOD DAMN. "i finally have him back." GOD DAMN. the way all vash's memories are made up of geraniums. his WORLD VIEW, his entire fucking thought process, it's so heavily influenced by rem that his memories are made up of geraniums. i'm going fucking insane.

"please don't leave me" / "i'll save you." the detached look on knives's face. with rem out of the way maybe vash will realize that he's here for him. that knives is the one who will always stay with him. that knives is important, please, doesn't he mean something? why must vash always take him for granted? is he not enough? no, he has to be enough because they're the only two of their kind. therefore vash just needs to realize it, no matter how much it might hurt him to have his eyes opened to truth. they make me want to claw my own eyes out. the hope, almost relief on knives's face... i can't stand any of this, i can't. he thinks he has his brother back, finally finally finally after so many years.

LOVE the way it was obvious how the roots that attached to the dependent plants were similar to umbilical cords. chest-burster moment! god, everything is just so brutal. i can't be upset about canon divergence when it's just this good.

knives's candor, man, alright? like he was telling the truth, as he knows it to be good, that he caused the fall for vash, but he also knew damn well how that statement was going to affect him. he knew the guilt would break his brother and he weaponized that, and he still thought it was the right thing to do. FUCK. he's so eldest sister complex it's insane. the ends justify the means, but the means aren't even taboo to him anymore; he kills because he hates. it's a win-win, this plan of his. kill as many humans as possible, all of them hopefully, and liberate his kind, and his brother. all around victory.

i'm honestly waiting for the clash in ideology alongside the mindbreak. or is it just gonna be light versus dark? they've shown how vash's complex is a detriment to him already. obviously knives as a whole has been a warning against polarized thinking and extremism from the start, while vash, as in the original, is a little more subtle since he's fighting for "good." in this day and age nobody's used to the protagonist being wrong, too.

the way vash's massive root structure looks like rem. i'm gone. that boy has so many mommy issues, but i don't think tristamp-only fans are ready for that conversation!!

the imagery in ep 11 and the themes surrounding exploitation and lack of bodily autonomy. godddd. like. yeah it makes you uncomfortable!!! it’s supposed to!!!! you look at it and you see what Knives is doing to Vash and the other plants and you’re meant to think HEY THIS IS WRONG. like it’s a lot more subtle in trimax but it’s still THERE and you’re still meant to see it and think HEY. WHAT THE FUCK. tristamp tackles the theme in a lot less subtle way but this is something that’s carried from trimax just in a different way and both versions drive me insane
