There's a moment when you become more familiar with a new band that does a lot of screaming where you start getting used to the singer's voice and how they scream and what sounded like unintelligible growling before starts to become lyrics without having to read along as you listen. I really love when that happens. Feels like starting to understand a new friend

Anyone else listen to the heavy songs on disgusting or aggressive or below and think YES FUCK YES THIS IS SOOOO GOOD I NEED MORE OF THIS but then remember that in caleb's personal creative process heavy metal is tied to unhappiness and depression and then feel kind of guilty for wanting more of that even though it's specifically the sound you want more of not the themes but for this specific artist the sound is tied to the themes in a certain way so you can't really ask for more of the sound you like without being kinda hurtful

#i listen to too much power metal where the heaviness is supposed to feel badass and uplifting instead of intense #sometimes I forget below was his absolute lowest point and then feel bad about it
