you mean when they released albums around the same time and tool ended up taking the top billboard spot? i actually had to google this bc i completely forgot about it. tbh taylor was barely on my radar back then, so i don't really know what you want me to say to that. if there's one thing she and tool seem to have in common it's how passionate some of their fans tend to be, which can be both a good and a bad thing i guess.

am i more "in favour of" tool bc i personally (!!!) think they're the best musicians on the planet and bc i prefer bands over solo artists in general? yes, absolutely. does that mean that i think taylor's music is beneath me or that it's worth less than tool's because it's pop music? no! the 'genre barrier' is stupid and limiting af, so it shouldn't really matter imo.

idk man. i listen to taylor, i listen to tool and keeping up with feuds exhausts me. make of that what you will 🥴

Hi! This may be farfetched and if so feel free to completely ignore but - did you used to write fanfiction for The Walking Dead Fandom? Specifically for Rick & Michonne? I'm on a deep dive trying to find some my old faves by a particular author named blueprintofyourpast (Tourniquet, The Trickster, Where Men Can't live God's fare no better, just to name a few). Searched up on fanfiction.net and Ao3 to no avail. Google and tumbler led me here lol - If anything I'm saying is ringing bell and I am in the right place, please know that your amazing and I (as well as the whole richonne Fandom I'm sure) would love to read your fics if you ever decide to repost/re-upload anywhere (please please please!). yep, those are my old fics. i deleted them from ff.net when i "moved" over to ao3 and then i deleted them from ao3 bc i kinda checked out of the entire twd fandom and bc i thought my fics were actually poorly written 😬 in retrospect, 'where men can't live ... ' is probably the only richonne fic i'm still somewhat happy with.

HOWEVER! even though i was weirdly disappointed by 'the ones who live', i'm kinda itching to at least re-edit 'where men can't live ... ' and maybe repost it on ao3 bc - like I said - i don't think it's completely terrible.

anyhoo, thanks for the ask and the kind words! i've been suffering from massive writer's block for months now, so maybe revisiting some of my old stuff wouldn't be such a bad idea 🤔

it's been a while and i'm 100% sure no one is going to revisit this post but i want to add two other favourite bands of mine to the list:

Radiohead - well duh. i love how they don’t bother with genre conventions and just do whatever they want and how they never disappoint. no surprises has helped me get through some DARK moments in the past and all I need still fucks me up on a regular basis but i think present tense might be my all-time favorite. other recommendations include pop is dead, bodysnatchers, just and everything in its right place.

Tool - i recently went through their catalogue again and man, they're something else. each song takes you on a journey and if we're talking about musicianship, tool is IT. there isn’t a single band of any genre out there that comes close to them imo. i also think they’re huge nerds (famously proven by lateralus, an absolute masterpiece of a song that is based on the fucking fibonacci sequence) but that’s what i appreciate about them the most i guess. the pot is a fantastic gateway to their work. do not miss out on gems like sober, parabol/parabola, h., 46 & 2 and jambi, though.

hi! maybe this is gonna sound weird but i really like that you mention a lot of bands and songs in your fics and how you use lyrics for the titles. otherwise i probably wouldnt have discovered foals 😂 do you have any other band recs?

hi anon and forgive me but i cannot believe that my stuff - my stupid little fics - introduced you to THE BEST BAND. if this is true it means that i can happily retire now 😅

jokes aside, of course i can recommend some bands! listing all of my faves - including solo artists and non-math/prog rock bands - would take me an eternity, though, so here's my holy trifecta:

Foals - obviously. they OWN me, so i can't not mention them. "albatross" was the song that got me to into them years ago and it changed me forever. i will NEVER shut up about them. they're one of the best live acts i've ever seen and while their latest album isn't their best it's still incredible - critics be damned. neptune is arguably their best song but i also highly recommend providence, a knife in the ocean, spanish sahara, exits, what went down, late night and olympic airways.

Oceansize - if foals didn't exist this band would be my number one. they split up over 10 years ago and i'm still heartbroken. they never shied away from experimenting and the prog rock scene would be a better place if they ever decided to reunite. EVERYONE should take the time to listen to trail of fire at least ONCE in their lives ... ... ... and then proceed with silent/transparent, catalyst, savant and heaven alive and fall madly in love with them like i did.

Everything Everything - criminally underrated. they've been around since forever and yet no one is talking about them, which makes me LIVID on a daily basis. they're math rock at its best and their new album f*cking SLAPS. also: their drummer is out of this world and my personal hero. suffragette suffragette and duet are my all-time favourites but if you want to get to know them, i suggest you start with cough cough, to the blade, cut up! and schoolin'.

in short: there's so much more great stuff out there in the music world but if we're talking about bands these three are IT for me. give them a try and you will all see why 😌

lateralus is so funny. the whole album is centered around spiritual themes, and the entire experience is very ethereal, but this is a 2000s metal album so smack dab between the one song that celebrates the holy experience of birth and the other song that revolves around the fucking Fibonacci Sequence is Ticks & Leeches which is just a massive fuck you to their record company. its like your hippie neighbor coming out of his weed shack to beat up a transphobe. i love this album

Hey I don't usually post serious stuff but I want to use my platform to speak up about the scandal happening in Germany right now.

If you're able to take your time to read this article then please do. Here's a short summary of what's going on however;

Correktiv a group of independent researchers and journalists went undercover into the right wing scene in Germany and they discovered something big. If you're German I'd definitely recommend reading this article. If you're able to translate it I'd also recommend reading it because this is insane.

On November 25th people from Correktiv went into a secret meeting from right wing people in Germany. Some of the people who were at the meeting, were people who are from the right wing party. One of them was even the right hand man of the leader of the party Alice Weidel. They had people who work finance, had lawyers, had doctors, had all types of people.

All of them were making sinister plans on how to get rid of non ethnically German people in Germany, no matter if you have German citizenship, no matter if you were born in Germany, if you are not ethnically German they want you out. That is their plan.

They talked about possible methods as well on how to get rid of us so that this goal could be accomplished. A lot of these people are millionaires, seriously influential people, that are coming together in a secret meeting to discuss how to get rid of every single immigrant and send them to Africa.

They Firstly want to start with everybody that lives in Germany but doesn't have a German citizenship yet, as they're quote on quote the easiest to get rid of. Then they want to get rid of those immigrants that were born and raised in Germany and also have a German citizenship, but happen to not be ethnically German. This is one of the secret meeting and it just leaves me wondering how many there are.

The right wing extremism has been on a rise in Germany once again. They're one of the most powerful parties right now. History repeats itself again.

The only thing I ask of you to do is spread the news and sign this petition.
