Obviously acknowledging antisemitism everywhere is a good thing + a crucial step towards making this world a safer place for jewish ppl to exist in but is anyone else kind of distressed by how many ppl in power have recently gotten extremely comfortable declaring that actually their country (the one they have power over) will never ever be safe for jewish ppl and therefore all of them need to just go somewhere rlly rlly far away so that they can protect themselves from the country that the speaker has power over. and if u suggest that anything else like idk actually trying to make the country in question safe for jewish ppl rather than just kicking them out might perhaps be a better answer u are actually the monstrously antisemitic one

The world is their oyster. They believe they're destined for great things, just like many of you. Their eyes are full of hope, just like you. Did they wait until it was too late to make from their lives even one iota of what they were capable? DEAD POETS SOCIETY — 1989 dir. Peter Weir

hey i just saw your post critiquing a societal norm. well, i like doing everything that society expects of me and i was actually raised in an empty 8x8 cube for the first 18 years of my life. i am the only person to have ever been raised in a vacuum and i came out with all the behaviors expected of my age, sex, and origin without ever having seen another human being before. so. maybe keep that in mind next time you post, mkay?

Stranger in the Village - From all available evidence no black man had ever set foot in this tiny Swiss village before I came…
Notes of a Native Son - On the 29th of July, in 1943, my father died. On the same day, a few hours later, his last child was born…
Letter from a Region in My Mind - I underwent, during the summer that I became fourteen, a prolonged religious crisis…
A Talk to Teachers - Let’s begin by saying that we are living through a very dangerous time…
If Black English Isn’t a Language, Then Tell Me, What Is? - The argument concerning the use, or the status, or the reality, of black English is rooted in American history and has absolutely nothing to do with the question the argument supposes itself to be posing…
Many Thousands Gone - It is only in his music, which Americans are able to admire because protective sentimentality limits their understanding of it, that the Negro in America has been able to tell his story….
In Search of a Majority - I am supposed to speak this evening on the goals of American society as they involve minority rights, but what I am really going to do is to invite you to join me in a series of speculations….
A Letter to My Nephew - I have begun this letter five times and torn it up five times…
Sonny’s Blues - I read about it in the paper, in the subway, on my way to work. I read it, and I couldn’t believe it, and I read it again…

“Run into a cave and break your ankle so that people have to come find you and they see you lying at the bottom of this beautiful cave and maybe there’s a waterfall and the light from the crystals makes you look really beautiful and they say “Are you okay?” and you say “I think so” and they say “oh my God have you been here alone this whole time with a broken ankle” and you say “it’s okay” and they say “you’re so brave” and you are brave and you look so beautiful surrounded by cave crystals and everyone stands over you and says “oh wow” and “you poor beautiful thing” and “I’m so sorry we let you run into the cave but I’m so glad we found you” and let them carry you home and promise to be your best friends forever and that everything’s their fault and also they named the cave after you and you’re prettier than all of your enemies and your enemies all died of jealousy while you were in the cave.”

I really deeply hate how the correct statement "using man-hating as a cover for transmisogyny is awful and you need to be able to recognize when that's being used as a dogwhistle" has somehow evolved into "misandry is real and that's why terfs are wrong" like no I don't think it is. Can we please retire Not All Men I can't do this
