A long-overdue post
Tumblr media
I don't write much about my published Betta Fish Journal although the title of my blog is in fact betta-fish-journals. The gist of this item is that it’s a journal for Betta owners to write in about their pet Bettas, and there’s some writing prompts to make it easier to write about them.
I also chose the name of this blog because a lot of bettablrs, fishblrs and other Tumblrs can basically be online journals about pet fish. So what I am doing is reblogging/sharing posts from other people about their pet Bettas. There are so many posts out there and I don’t login to Tumblr every day. I won’t be able to get my first pet Betta for a long while, so in the meantime I enjoy reading about others’ Bettas and looking at your beautiful photos of these pretty fish. It brings me joy to see those little grumpy faces and that other people love their fish very much.
I created the Betta Fish Journal with the love and care I currently can't give to a pet Betta fish, in the hope that others with pet Bettas can find even more ways to appreciate their aquatic companions. Maybe you might know someone who can benefit from this book as a gift. The text is colorable and the prompts are engaging, so different people can write or color into the book however they want. It’s not a coloring book per se, but some parts can be colored in as if it is.
Here are some sample pages from the Betta Fish Journal (available with 4 different covers):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These pages in the Betta Fish Journal are not in any particular order, but that’s just a touch of what is in this fun guided journal. The prompts are text that you can color with gel pens, colored pencils or other stuff, and you can even color in the Betta image if you want... maybe in your Bettas’s colors!
Great so far? To learn more, click here for details.

Bloodfin is such a pretty and shiny color! And the streaks of cerulescence (blue) on his caudal fin adds to his beauty. :)

Reblogging from my main blog writingwithpurpleink :) I finished the log book behind schedule because I'm a perfectionist. :D
Axolotl Pet Log Book is now available!
All right, I’m ready to announce ONE of my two aquatic pet log books. (The other one will be announced in a couple of days.) This time they are not fish…
They are axolotls!
In terms of aquatic pets, I’ve had both an axolotl and some fire belly newts during my childhood. Axolotls are banned in my state now,  and I’m not sure when or if I’ll ever have fire belly newts as pets again…
I hope my log book will help owners of pet axolotls to stay organized and take care of your pets better than without the log books.
Find the Axolotl Pet Log Book by clicking here. You could probably click on the link below, too. (Later this week I will post about this log book again, complete with an image of the cover as well.)
If you have a pet Betta Fish (1 or more) and you don’t have my Betta Fish Log Book yet, go ahead and check it out now by clicking here.
But if you’re more interested in the Axolotl Pet Log Book, click here instead.

Whoa, that’s amazing! Beautiful photos, and a great documentation of color progression too! Welcome home, Parzival!
New Betta
Meet my new Betta, Parzival (named after the character in Ready Player One, one of my favorite movies/books). I got him on May 21, 2019 at Petco. He is one of the spunkiest Bettas I’ve ever had, and he’s a joy to watch. Here’s his color progression over the past couple of weeks, which is actually pretty drastic. Videos to come soon!!

I am sorry that all happened. It must all be overwhelming. I am on your side; you are right, they are not “just fish,” and losing any one of your fish, let alone knowing some are injured, is still difficult. Hang in there and good luck.
I’m just so damn angry
Today is not my day. I wanted to move my shrimp tank beside the female betta tank. First I threw the food on the ground and had to pick up every piece.
Then I took later a look into the betta tank and saw that the wall in the middle of the tank somehow moved so Rosie was able to swim over to Tiny and attacked her. Tiny is alive but looks terrible. And it’s my fault. It’s my fault cause I’m too stupid to move the tank to the side without moving this stupid thing too.
Tiny is now in the quarantine tank, I gave something against the infection into the water so hopefully it will heal fast. She seems to be kinda ok, but her fins are ripped like shit.
When I went to the garden later I saw that one of the Goldies, Felix, is missing. We have a problem with raccoons in the garden since a few weeks so I think they got him. Also Selina, Emma & Goldie have been missing since weeks. Two other Goldies, Kronos in the big pond; Alaba in the small pond, are injured. Kronos has a ripped tail, Alaba has big wounds on the right side.
I feel so terrible. I know it’s my fault that Tiny got injured and I should have done something against the raccoons before they were able to kill my Goldies. My family is making fun of me because it’s making me sad (“just fish”) and I really just wanna cry for the rest of the day.

I don’t mind that the picture is blurry. I still think it’s a cute photo of Quasimoto! ;)
Tumblr media
Hello from Quasimoto 😀 This beautiful boy is actually swimming and eating very well in the smaller tank!
Heater ✔️
Filter ✔️
And happier man ☺️
This tank was home to my marimo moss balls, dwarf grass, dracena, and more moss…but Quasi enjoys it so he can have it as his new home 🏠
With frequent water changes and his favorite food I hope he stays a happy betta 💙
P.S. sorry for the blurry picture, just wanted to post a quick update!

Betta fish and more?
I know this blog is called Betta-Fish-Journals but I may occasionally reblog or post stuff about other aquatic animals such as koi... and more koi... maybe amphibians like newts and axolotls... although I might make a separate blog for amphibians. The future is open for it.
I haven’t been updating and reblogging here as often as I should, but when I do, it’s really a lot of fun and brings me great joy. So I want to keep doing this. Just gotta schedule it (schedule it better) or something.
