I’m on episode 9 of Beyblade X, and so far it’s really living up to its full potential. Bird is losing every single battle, which theoretically should be leading up to something. He should be slowly getting more and more frustrated by his losses. His friends should be frustrated too. He’s training, but he isn’t training until he’s all beat up like Tyson would. He isn’t devastated when he loses. He’s just like “eh, whatever” about it, which I feel is really not a good quality for a protagonist. He’s not particularly fired up about Beyblading either. He doesn’t have a goal. Why does he want to get to the top of X tower? Just because? At this point, there are two options. One option is that he starts getting better and really learns how to Beyblade, with the help of his friends. The other option, which I think would make the most interesting story, is that after he gets more and more frustrated with losing, he eventually turns to the dark side. Someone comes along offering him great power, and he betrays his friends. He already has a Hell themed Beyblade, after all. I really want this to happen. Because as it stands, there is no real conflict. Or if the conflict is that Bird can’t win a battle, they aren’t presenting it well as a conflict, because it isn’t affecting the characters as it should. Sadly I feel like if the story was going to go in the direction I want, it would already have started tilting that way. In addition, the characters don’t really have incentive to Beyblade, as far as I’ve seen. In the original Beyblade, we would have some sort of backstory and goal for the opponents that we learn about while they’re fighting. I was thinking about how Lee was heartbroken by Rei leaving the White Tigers and wanted to get revenge on Rei for betraying him. We got a character in X who looks similar to Lee, and they don’t give him and his teammates any sort of background during their battle with the main team, aside from learning about the zoo that sponsors them. So far the series is feeling very lacking, but I really hope it picks up. I want emotions and high stakes and for people to have a reason for fighting. I want Bird to feel broken inside and I want that to push him, either to make bad decisions or to get stronger. But I need *something*.

Silly comic, ok ..I have many things to say..

I love Yuriy but his hairstyle drives me crazy , it’s really hard to draw and in this comic, he’s acting a little bit out of character I’m sorry for that :P

second I hate kids and Kai is a terrible kid, i don’t know how Yuriy has patience to him

The idea started when I was thinking about how Kai could train in the middle of a storm without proper clothes, I wonder if yuriy went mad at him in more of one occasion because kai never cared about the rules that keep together and safe the blitzkrieg boys, but duh it’s a cartoon still it’s fun to think about details

"Show me what you've got, Kinomiya!"

Recently I finished rewatching Beyblade and was remembered on how influential the show was on me. Not only personally but also artistically. I vividly remember how I ran home from school in order to watch Beyblade at 3'o Clock, not to miss a single episode. There was something about this show that just hooked me. The battles, the music. The characters. After G-Revolution I drew my own comics with the characters. Of their own battles, their own interpersonal struggles and it was my very first AU. (lets say I wasn't too happy with Dranzers Faith in G-Revolution and I wanted to draw a happier ending). It also brought me and the neighbourkids together , as they were obsessed with Beyblade as well and we replayed the episodes on the playground while we argued who will be Kai in the end. (we did the same with Digimon, especially with Digimon Frontier, but that's a story for another day.) In Winter I tried to wear my scarf like Kai and I looked ridiculous but personally I related to him the most as a kid. I still do as an adult. I burn for art in a similar way as Kai and Tyson burn for Beyblade. But like Kai, I'm also a person who does not speak much and is rather on the introverted and calmer side. I rather like my work to speak for myself rather than the words that come out of my mouth. (but if you speak about art around me, make sure I won't shut up about it )

Anyway. In order to show my love, I decided to draw this Fanart. I chose that very iconic place from episode one, where Kai and Tyson meet for the very first time. However, except of drawing all the other Kids, I decided to draw the Bladebreakerz. I tried to capture the anticipation before the battle, the tension, the excitment. Almost a similar feeling I have whenever I start a new artwork.

Out of my never ending curiosity when it comes to Kai Hiwatari, I searched for his name on that AI chat thing. And it got so awkward during the first minute, it wasn't even 10 sentences and the bot already asked if I had a boyfriend. There are two more bots and I want to try them too, but the one I did talk to was so OOC... (I don't believe Kai would ask anyone to be his girlfriend that fast. No way in hell. I would have a much easier time writing all of my fanfics if he did.)

Update: I made the other bot blush with my 3rd response

Update 2: the last bot was the most challenging but I still managed to break it and make it be nice to me. Summary: AI Kais start acting OOC as soon as relationships are involved.

They might have clothing shops specifically for Beybladers! Like the guy at the shop will say “here’s our selection of Beyblading gloves”, which would explain why so many characters have fingerless gloves.
