Sometimes I have so many ideas for what to draw that I get too overwhelmed by the desire to draw and make art and can’t make or work on anything and it’s so frustrating. My brain will cycle through “Oo I want to draw Orym’s new outfit, wait no I want to paint my Ashton sketch, but I could paint my Veth drawing I’m really excited about, but Oo I want to do this Vax drawing I’ve been thinking of” and my mind will cycle through the options a hundred times and I won’t draw anything bc I can’t make up my mind and get too stressed 🙃

I am still working on the CR color wheel btw. Still super rough but you can at least tell who won the Yellow Slice lol. Ended up being a battle between Veth & FCG but Veth still won the popularity contest pretty handily. Could also be that ppl really wanted her right next to Caleb (orange).

Caleb and Essek comforting each other because they understand each other is some grade A good shit.

But consider nights when one of them is so full of remorse and the horror of their actions that they don't want to go to the other. They don't want comfort. They don't want to feel like they're being enabled by being forgiven. Terrified they'll fall into harmful actions again by accident if they don't hold the memories of every bad decision they've ever made in the front of their mind. That they could somehow forget the lesson. That it is their nature to veer off their new path and down the embankment if they don't death grip the wheel.

On those nights they say that nothing is wrong. They retire early to not sleep. And the other let's them have that, for no more than a night or two, because they recognize that withdrawal. That the other could not bare the intrusion on their pain. It would make them feel so much worse to have to acknowledge it.

So they are let be. And space is made by the other for when they are ready to come back to the present. But it is not forced until it becomes a spiral and a problem. Gently then. A loving hand. An intervention promising peace again. Promising they have been changed.

But sometimes this is just a pain they need to feel as part of the healing. And deeper grace is knowing when not to cut if off for their own comfort
