What course are you taking? If you don't mind me asking. I hope you don't stress yourself out too much!
I get the feeling, research has been killing me! And we're about to graduate soon.
Oh! I'm an animal science major, so most of my courses involve bio and chem with a bit of agriculture. I'm still considered to be within my first two yrs so I haven't gotten anything too much yet, but I am considered a full-time student :)
Thanks for asking!

Hello! Do you still do requests?
Yeah, they are. I’ve only been working on my multiworks since that’s wat I’ve been feeling (drafting a BG3 fic too). Haven’t gotten any recently and classes are taking a majority of my time

Hi!! Good day, how are you?
May I ask if you still take requests?
Yeah! I've been writing drafts/outlines for future things and I usually write my chapters in my downtime. I also have university admissions coming in so my schedule is wonky. However, I have notifs turned on for my phone so I get just about anything unless tumblr is a dumbass and eats something
tldr: yes, they're open :)

Hey, happy 2023!
I currently just had to block a bunch of bots from my follow list and thought of updating this page. I don’t have any goals for this year, but one thing I do wanna do is finish something.
More crap/rant under cut.
‘Bittersweet’ is currently being worked on. It’s already 75% done so I hope to finish it before my next fall semester. I plan to write a hundred words a day for it and then publish it all in one sitting. A bit of a doozy but hopefully could be done.
One thing I need to point out that involves my other works is the amount of them. I’m not as invested in the Genshin series. I didn’t get finish Sumeru and I feel drained from playing the game. This means that ‘What are the Chances?’ will be put on hiatus and my other WIPs will remain unpublished. For those who have follow me for Genshin works, my apologies but burnouts happen for Genshin writers :|
Real life is also a bit chaotic. As emails from universities (yes, uni) that I’ve applied to start coming in, I won’t have as much time to properly dedicate a time to write. This is why I want to use my time to write only ‘Bittersweet’ (short term) and ‘Nerves of Steel, Heart of Gold’ (long term). But since burnout happens quickly for me, I will drift between fandoms/works to keep writing in general. I prefer to have quality and fun over quantity when it comes to my hobby.
TLDR: Blue is a ding-dong and has put Genshin works on hiatus. They are focusing on one short term and one long term.

One of my rl friends is gonna read this to me in class but gonna put it out now, official hiatus. At least until November is over, otherwise the latest will be January.
I don’t have the time/energy to continue writing chapters at the moment cuz of school stuff. I’ve only been drafting ideas that I probably won’t write until I’m finished with ‘Bittersweet’ & ‘Steel/Gold’ since I fixate too much.
I’m not gonna post about them (unless someone asks) so once again, apologies for the hiatus but I’ll see ya in 2023 :D

Just doing a life update and reasons why I haven’t been active much. I’m really busy these days with applications for next semester, life things, and other general events that keep me from posting on tumblr. I don’t have as much time writing at the moment (though I have been drafting new ideas) so I can’t exactly post any new chapters or works. Once everything is cleared up, I’ll be finishing up my existing works!
Thank you for your patience.

Can you write Jessie, Ashley, Nora, and Lillian, with an s/o who is extremely innocent and dense. No matter how many hints they give their s/o or even tell it to their face, they still remain incredibly oblivious.
Thanks for the request! Apologies for going quiet suddenly. I’ve been reading more than writing lately since I need to recharge a bit more before the semester starts and I don’t wanna stress out by forcing myself to write. The quality wouldn’t be the same then. Here’s something. It’s a lot for a request but enjoy :3
Confessing to a dense s/o
Jessie (Post Huniepop 2)
You were a local on Inna de Poona, learning the history of the island was natural to you. So natural that you were socially oblivious when it came to people flirting with you. Your politeness was often mistaken for interest and sweet nature could be seen as flirting.
You happen to have heard Jessie talking with Lola about her daughter and couldn’t help but give her advice. “It’s best to start off slow with her. Try and find a way to meet up, then see if there is a way to mend your relationship.” Though Jessie has met her fair share of nice people, there was something about your honest grin that made her take your words to heart.
Lola was actually the first to pick up on your density. She has seen tourists try and flirt with the native cutie but alas, you were out of reach. Of course, she warned Jessie of this, knowing her friend. It was certainly interesting watching the cougar slip over her own words for once. “Your lips are gonna bleed if you keep biting them, Miss Jessie! Please be cautious of your habit.” You have never heard Lola laugh so hard before.
Seduction was a nope. But compliments were a yes. Whenever she praised you, it was like the sun came out when you smiled. Dates were… iffy. You treated them like you were friends. “Right. We should hold hands! I know this place inside and out. It’s easy to get lost in the afternoon.” “…No. Hun, that’s not-“ Actually, never mind. This is fine. She’ll smile to herself as you eagerly show her around the island outside of the resort.
In all her years, she thinks that your innocence is a breath of fresh air and she’s willing to take it steady. It’s nice to slow down and take in the sweeter things in life. Even if you don’t exactly get romance, it’s relaxing to hear you talk about your home.
Ashley Rosemarry
Ashley’s band decided to also vacay with her and one of them had the brilliant idea to challenge her. “I bet you can’t get in the bartender’s pants.” “Oh yeah? Well, your wallet says otherwise.” And that’s where you come in. You were working the night shift when she came up to you to shoot her shot.
Funnily enough, you brushed it off as cockiness, and laughed at her face, then got to know the band along with her. It was annoying at first but she grew to appreciate your friendliness. “I’d be happy to give my boss a recommendation if you wanna perform here!” So she started to see you more often and that’s when she noticed that you brushed off all attempts from everyone.
So it wasn’t her? Were you ace? Did you already have someone? Ashley asked you almost immediately and you response left her dumbfounded. “Flirting? Since when would anyone flirt with me?! Hah! But if you ever meet or hear anyone that wants to date me, let them know that I’m open.” … But literally she asked you out. Are you stupid?
Dense. You were so. Fucking. Dense. It was infuriating but now she knew. Unlike Jessie, she doesn’t think it as cute. It was annoying to see people around you try and get your attention, only to fail because you brushed it off as friendly. She will force herself to give you lessons on social cues. Basically taking you under her wing.
This is more of a personal opinion because of her baggage, so feel free to ignore this last one. I feel like Ashley would then play wingwoman. Since she doesn’t like being tied down, she’s sorta teaching you what romance and flirting is like.
Nora Delrio
This could be connected to Ashley or not, that’s up to your interpretation, but you met Nora through her. Maybe you even got a job at the resort with Nora’s help because you needed a way to get money and she thought you were decent, so Nora would see you around. It wasn’t until you both had a lunch break when she finally bonded with you. “Here. I’m not gonna finish all this. Do you want some?” “Shit, really? Man, I really appreciate it.”
She’s like a stray. Once you feed her, she’ll come back. Because of her baggage, *cough* emotionally guarded *coughcough* it’ll take Nora a bit of time to actually begin to like you romantically. So she doesn’t realize how dense you are until someone tells her. In this case, it’s Ashley and she takes the time to observe you.
You end up reminding her of Candy and Suki, only much more innocent and sweet rather than ditzy. So how on earth did you wiggle yourself into her heart? By being genuine. You aren’t trying to get in her pants or flirting with her for the sake of it. You were just being you. Sure, your obliviousness could get on her nerves, but that added to your charm in a way. Oblivious-pining for a good few months.
When she was trying to ask you out, it was usually interrupted. Maybe it was a call for overtime or Candy pleading for another hit. One time, Ashley proudly announced herself and interrupted her before being cursed out in Spanish by a frustrated Nora. You barely managed to stop her from throwing hands.
However, if it wasn’t for her, Nora wouldn’t have finally told you that she loves you. “Listen, I got really pissed off because I planned this day out. I… have a confession to make. The truth is I really like you and I was hoping that you felt the same.” “Oh. Of course I do, Nora! You’re my best friend.” “No! You-! Ugh! That’s not what I meant! I fucking love you and your stupid ass!”
Lillian Aurawell
You met Lil before she dropped out of high school as the ‘kid-next-door’ type, so you’ve known each other for quite a bit. Unlike her angsty character, you were always bright and sunny. Her parents thought that you would rub off on each other, for good or bad, but somehow keep a good balance with each other. “The only decent thing about going to that stupid island is all the tail I could-“ “When you say tail, you mean you want to have-“ “Ugh! YES. But don’t phrase it like a fucking weirdo!”
You accompanied your best friend to the island and took in the whole resort with a smile. But unlike her, you could charm the entire place with friendly character, which is probably why she liked you. Rather than getting annoyed and scorning Lillian about her dark sense of humor, you actually laughed at her jokes. Not to mention how caring you were. Honestly, how many of her friends were willing to bring extra inhalers or let their friends ‘borrow’ some money.
However, as much as she liked you, it was that stupid density that made her infuriated with you. “Hey. I’m bored.” “Uhm… Okay, and? What does that, like, have to do with me?” “I dunno. You’re the one who usually does something... so do something.” Lillian never puts up with anyone, but she didn’t mind you. Ashley noticed that and latched onto that to tease her for eternity.
The only reason Lillian would admit her feelings is if enough people tell her to go for it. As her best friend, she knows that your innocence is problematic with romance. “Sooo… there’s too many stupid people telling me what to do these days but, do you, like, wanna go out together sometime?” “Don’t we do that already?” “I mean like on a date! God…” “Yeah. We always go on dates together!” “Oh my fucking god. How stuuupid can you be?! I mean… can we be an item?” Of course, that didn’t get through to you either.
She despises being soft because it makes her vulnerable. You make her vulnerable. You were on your phone when she wanted to try confessing again. “So, how do you tell someone that you like them?” “Hm. You mean love them or like them as a friend?” “The first one.” “Just tell them. Why? Did you finally find someone you like?” “Uhm… sure. But I’ve been trying to tell them for, like, EVER.” “Well, just say it to their face.” Honestly? She should’ve expected this but sometimes your density knew no bounds. “Okayyyyyy…. I love you.” “Heh. Yeah, just like that!” “You have got to be fucking kidding me!?”

Warnings: Slight hints of parental abuse, gambling, stereotyping (if you squint)
Tumblr media
Ever since the trial, the Qixing has been keeping more tabs on you. Sending the Millelith to patrol more around your headquarters, watching your every move, and even stopping your gang from going around the harbor. Although you have it under control, it was annoying to have your troops avoid them.
Even they have started to complain during dinner nights, so you proposed to decrease your nightly meetings.
“Aw, what!? But… Boss! Some of us can’t get food anywhere else!” It pained you to hear it but it was true. Because so many people often stereotyped your gang, they refused service from your lackeys.
You sighed. “Hm. I guess you have a point, and I’d hate to have some of you skip meals because of some bothersome soldiers… Tōtarō, do you have any trouble with cooking these days?”
At a section of the table, there sat a giant man with muscles hidden underneath a heavy coat. His grey shaggy beard reached the bottom of his neck. Despite his intimidating physique, you knew how gentle he truly was and trusted him with both your life and the gang. He was the gang’s chef after all. Besides, he was your mentor’s brother. He has known you since you were recruited all those years ago.
The man shook his head, choosing to use no words.
You grinned. “Very good. Well, because of our circumstances, our family dinners won’t be mandatory in order to avoid the Millileth patrols. Those of you who live in the farther parts of Liyue, however, must show up at least every other week for a report, documented on paper and a verbal one.”
   “Yes, Boss.”
“Now that we’ve put that out of the way, please enjoy tonight’s dinner.”
You exhaled in relief once they began to dig in and sat back down in your seat, hoping to enjoy the rest of your meal in peace.
Tumblr media
Rather than stopping at the docks, you were taking a bit of time off to get away from people. Some of your captains were gradually growing concerned about your smoking habit so your assistant suggested eating somewhere with clean air. And without your box of cigarettes.
You had to admit, it was nice of them to worry, but now Hu Tao and Yanfei will have a bit of trouble finding you. Violet chittered as she nosily poked her head out of your jacket.
“The Millelith are being annoying so we can’t eat at our spot anymore,” you said.
Rather than staying in your pocket, the weasel chose to play lookout on your shoulder. You were about to settle near a pond, a good distance away from the harbor and its lunch rush until an arrow was shot at you. It barely scraped your skin but you swiftly dodged it with a spin. You turned to see an abyss mage with several hillichurls. Strange, you don’t recall them spawning here…
“Ugh… how bothersome,” you groaned as you summoned your polearm.
A weapon that you had commissioned yourself, and as far as you knew, it was the only one of its kind.
Vigilante’s Aide. The handle was comfortable in your grip and you easily prepared for the next attack with calming breaths. Its pointed edge gleamed as it reflected the sun’s rays. You merely scoffed as you began to make your attack. You used your spear like an extension rather than a weapon, moving forward with light finesse and quick reflexes. It was almost graceful.
Violet squeaked before running across the weapon and suddenly leaping out at the abyss mage, distracting the enemies, while you attacked with your spear to the hillichurl.
“Hmph. Is that the best you can do?” you taunted after defeating the first wave. You felt your electro vision spark, energizing you with a sensational spirit.
The mage growled under its breath and summoned a pair of mitachurls. An electric aura surrounded you before you could begin your next attack. The mitachurl’s shield was about to swing at you when a silhouette held it back. They didn’t need to hold it long though, as you launched your spear straight into the rocky shield and shattered it completely. The cryo avatar disappeared immediately.
Purple sparks followed you as you sent out your own electro avatar at your opponent. Unlike the cryo talisman, your mentor taught you to use your vision’s energy. It’s still a mystery as to how you could duplicate yourself while Hoshi could not, but to each their own.
“Thanks for the assistance, friend,” you thanked before sending out a second avatar at the pyro mage. You smirked and chuckled once the shield broke. “Allow me to return the favor!”
You felt Violet scamper back up your leg and settle herself on your shoulder. Once the battle was over, your electro avatar disappeared and you brushed your clothes off before turning to your battle partner. Although you couldn’t see her, you already knew who she was. You glanced over to the other side of the pond where she appeared within a blink of your eye.
It was the divine exorcist herself.
“Hm. I see that you are well trained in using avatars,” she commented. Though her voice was flat, you somehow read her easily.
“Thank you. I’ve had plenty of training from my mentor,” you replied before introducing yourself. Your companion chirped as she leaned closer, most likely to get your new friend’s scent. “Ah. And this is Violet.”
She nodded to acknowledge the weasel. “I am Shenhe. I normally roam the mountains, but I felt a strange… energy.”
“That is understandable. The abyss normally holds a large amount of demonic energy.”
Her bright blue eyes seemed to have a fascinated glimmer to them, curious about you. “Actually, the energy… It emits from you,” she clarified.
This caught you off-guard, but you weren’t surprised by her statement. You nodded. “Fascinating. Well then, would you care to join me for lunch?”
Shenhe thought for a second before agreeing. She moved to the other side to sit with you. Violet had immediately crawled out of your jacket to greet her. The exorcist was startled at first but then you had picked up your weasel.
“Don’t worry,” you eased. “She’s friendly. Here, let her sniff your hand.”
Although hesitant, Shenhe did so, allowing the weasel to greet her. Even rubbing against Shenhe’s hand with a strangely blissful expression. She was surprised to feel how soft Violet’s fur was.
“She trusts you an awful lot there,” you commented before taking a bite of the grilled chicken your chef had prepared. “Here. Do you want some?”
   “I shouldn’t.”
   “Nonsense. You’ve gotta eat something.”
“It’s not that I have to eat. My diet is… a bit different,” she hesitantly explained. You decided to accept that answer, not wanting to pressure her.
Despite your contrasting personalities, Shenhe brought a different side of you that others haven’t seen. Although she was a fully grown woman, she displayed an innocence that you felt protective of. She wasn’t aware of proper city etiquette, which didn’t surprise you. You shared your lunch with her in hopes that she’d adapt to the common Liyue society. Before you knew it, your food was gone and your lunch break was over.
“Will you be around tomorrow too?” you asked her. “I can bring you more food.”
“That is kind of you, but I highly advise against it.”
You felt your gut tell you why, but you wanted to hear from Shenhe herself. You kept on your blank smile as Violet weaseled her way around your fingers.
“May I ask why you suggest that, miss?” you pushed.
Out of the corner of your eye, you noticed how stiff her posture was. But after she took a deep breath, she told her story.
“My master has… always spoke about the dangers of my strength,” she began. “I am bound by these red ropes to control it. Without them, my powers can create-“
“Destruction?” you suddenly interrupted. “Chaos? Is it so bad that it makes the world shake with terror or cower in fear upon mentioning your name? Do you part crowds like the seas and strike fear in the hearts of people?” You spoke with sarcasm but offered a gentle smile. You sympathized with Shenhe as most were intimidated by your reputation, however, you used it as an advantage. “Strength is what fuels you. Your strength is what creates you and it defines the person who wields it. However, it is up to you on what it is used for.”
You got up from the grass and dusted your clothes clean.
“I’ll be back tomorrow. You’re welcome to eat with me again. Though, perhaps it’d be best to bring smaller portions for you.”
You politely bowed your head before leaving, missing the look of awe and curiosity in the exorcist’s eyes. She was fascinated with your words but still debated whether to see you again. Shenhe may not have known you well, but she could feel something about you that made her feel emotions that were foreign to her.
Tumblr media
When it came to mail, you wouldn’t mind that you had things to read. It’s what you were left in this world to do after all. You were left to fill someone else’s shoes. However, when it came to other matters, you needed time to actually think, not gamble.
To the child of Hotaka Ungaiike,
You have officially been summoned to discuss the future of the Ungaiike Clan, the inheritance, and possible business as you are one of his two heirs.
Because of difficulties in Inazuma, it is highly recommended to reach the nation as swiftly as possible. However, it is understandable for delays. To make it through the border easily, a passport, a stamp, and a pass have all been provided for you and two other guests. Upon receiving this letter, you will have two weeks until everything has expired. Please make haste.
You scowled at the writing. Although you don’t know much about your past family, the one that you’ve been outcasted from, you did know that they were cruel. Every few nights, you’d suffer a nightmare or flashback. You breathed in hard and deeply, doing everything to rest your raging storm before your vision got the best of you. After a few minutes, an idea occurred to you. This letter was a new opportunity for you. A way to strike revenge after all these years. You decided to humor your kin. You called your assistant over.
“Lingxin, could you alert Tōtarō that I require a private meeting with him tomorrow?” you requested. "It involves business within Inazuma.”
“Right away, boss,” she answered before leaving your office.
You knew exactly what to do. However, that would be for another meeting.
You got up from your chair and adjusted your suit, preparing for your next client of the day. You left your office and walked down the halls, mutually greeting your subordinates with a nod before finding the boardroom. The guard in front opened the door for you and continued to stand behind you as you sat at the head of the table. From the moment you stepped in, you already knew that you were going to decline these businessmen. They were too cocky with their numbers and graphs. You raised your hand halfway through to gather their attention.
   "I've heard enough."
"Aha! Shall I retrieve the contract?" the employer offered.
You rolled your eyes in a bored manner. "Allow me to continue. I've heard enough because I do not wish to be associated with your line of work." You straightened your posture, resting your chin upon your fingers. "Your type of business is much too serious. All work and no play... Good day. I must go to my next meeting.”
Though you grinned brightly at the men, a darkness loomed over your lips as you stared at them. They were frozen with fear, unsure of what to do now. As you pushed yourself up, your smile fell as you continued to walk away.
“Be sure to escort them out,” you ordered the guard before shutting the door.
Your last meeting of the day had to be your least favorite. Every week, you would be invited to meet with the Qixing at least once and discuss financials. This opportunity was only permitted because you were one of the richest in Liyue despite not actually being a part of them. You knew that it made certain people upset, Ningguang being one of them.
She absolutely despised how you used the easy way to gain money. She had to work hard to gain her wealth, to rise above the common folk, and here you are sitting amongst the Qixing when you merely inherited it. If it weren’t for your ‘work,’ she would have convinced her colleagues to keep you away from the harbor.
The first order of business was to handle the Rite of Descension. You sat at your own desk away from the rest. Although you didn’t care, you paid attention to their ideas, and the others who were also ‘elite.’ Underneath the Qixing was another council of traders and merchants. They weren't exactly as high on the patriarchy as you, they were still considered high for their status. However, none of them could ever best you, which is why no one has joined the Qixing since you became the second richest in Liyue.
A shame that they had you review businesses for Liyue instead… Ganyu was taking care of her half of the work at least. You could always join their ranks, but then the Qixing would be vulnerable to the second circle. A shame that they never realized how hard you worked to keep them safe...
“Boss, there is supposed to be an interview with an incoming merchant,” Lingxin reminded you.
You nodded, reading over the application. An amused grin spread across your face. “It’s quite fascinating that some honestly believe they could apply to be a part of the Qixing. This one, in particular, is attempting to earn both mine and Lady Ningguang’s favor.”
You couldn't help but laugh while your assistant continued to read over her own documents.
   "I see."
You signed it off, allowing the merchant to begin business down at the docks but you didn’t allow an interview with how… low his finances were. It was a waste of time to meet with him.
Tumblr media
It was that exact thought that came back to bite you. Ganyu had apparently permitted the interview. Something about allowing more to join the Qixing... You honestly couldn't care less but you didn’t want to scold the sensitive adeptus. You also couldn’t drag your name further by ditching the meeting.
To appear professional, you were taking notes of his business, which happened to be an upcoming firm. Yes, it was helpful, but it was unable to hold your short attention. You specialized in farmlands, herbs, and transportation. Anything but financials because numbers were oh-so-boring. You had no use for his work. You glanced over at Ningguang. She seemed to be as annoyed as you were with this merchant. You raised your hand to cut him off. The Tianquan watched your every move with a curious gleam, though it was unreadable to the untrained eye.
“A question, Fukahire?” the man inquired.
“A request actually,” you clarified with a blank smile. "Or perhaps a gamble? Anything to keep my attention at this point... You state that you are a bountiful company, but you are merely capable of scraping together a measly 100,000 Mora?" You scoffed, a disapproving grimace on your face, and folded the piece of paper in front of you in half before it combusted into sparks. "My casino's revenue greatly surpasses your firm by tenfold, and that is merely one of my many sources of wealth. You are quite the bore, if I may be frank. However, I offer you a choice." No one dared to speak as you requested Lingxin to open a pack of cards. "You could either leave this conference with what I have given, a place to start for one month, or you can earn a position among the Qixing by playing a game with me."
The second option seemed to have caught Ningguang's attention, but she said nothing. You glanced at her irked expression before diverting your attention back to the man. Your offer annoyed every nerve in her body. How in Tevyat could you possibly be this childish during a meeting? "But I must warn you that if you happen to lose, then you must surrender your business and all assets to me."
To be fair to the man, you invited Ningguang to be your dealer.
   ...
Ningguang didn’t trust you for a second to play fair, but you had proven her otherwise. The cards were unopened and they were shuffled randomly to avoid repetition. Rather than the guppy that she usually pictured, you played mercilessly. You were almost bloodthirsty as you played your cards. However, you have lost more bets than she would like. At this rate, you would lose your position.
“It would appear that this is the final straw.” You placed down your final stack of chips, letting them click musically as they were put down. “However, I’m feeling a bit risky.” You whistled and snapped your fingers. Lingxin turned, awaiting your order. “Retrieve the heart of the shrine.”
“As you wish.” She bowed her head and left the room.
“The heart of the shrine?” your opponent echoed.
“It’s a deactivated vision that once belonged to the first leader of this clan,” you explained nonchalantly. “We built a shrine to honor him. However, even the most sentimental items have value."
Were you truly that insensitive? To gamble away something that showed great importance to your origin was so heartless... Ningguang stared down at you, criticizing your decision, before putting down her cards. As the dealer, both you and your opponent had to beat her hand but the superior deck would win. She didn't hold much this time, merely a single pair. The client seemed okay with betting it all. In fact, he did so confidently.
"Full house." He revealed his hand, only to be outplayed by your winning smirk. Or was your grin best described as unhinged?
"Four of a kind." You put down your cards and took the entire pot, including the written contract of his firm. "Quite a shame too. You put up a decent fight."
"You hustled me. How is that fair?"
"I did no such thing," you reasoned. "You were the one who got greedy. You were the one who chose to be ambitious and attempt to join the Qixing. If you weren't ready to lose, then why would you barter with me?" You merely laughed at him as the color drained from his face. You stood from your chair and leaned in close to him. "You lost all that you have accumulated because of your own selfishness. Let this be a lesson to watch yourself. You're lucky that it was only some of your business and not your savings."
You straightened your posture before bowing your head and leaving. Lingxin was about to walk in with a case but you shook your head to stop her, deciding to have her follow you instead. Ningguang watched you leave, suddenly taking note of that strange spark you held in your eyes. Did you rig the game, or did winning truly come from luck?
You lingered in her mind too long for her liking. She frowned at that. Of course, she’d think about you, you were her rival… Once the client had left, the Tianquan took her own leave to go back to the jade chamber.
How could you even bet such a sentimental item like it was nothing…
Ningguang associated three words with you; apathetic, spoiled, and tiresome.
Apathetic. It was necessary for business owners to be logical in opportunities, but you were on a different level. You showed nearly no mercy to the newer companies in Liyue. Your contracts were known to never have a loophole. Perfectly flawless, but an absolute pain when one goes into debt with you. There was a reason why you were called a shark, and it wasn't for your loan sharking business.
Spoiled. Your accumulated wealth was from your predecessor. Ningguang has known you since you arrived from Inazuma with your father. From rumors, of course, but Hoshi passed away from an illness when you were young, allowing you to claim your inheritance and nearly surpass her own wealth. You have gotten rich quickly and easily, unlike her own hard-earned wealth. You have always gotten your way, in one form or another.
Tiresome. Whenever you could, you would provoke the Qixing. Citizens complained on the daily about several of your branches. Your casino, the lingering presence of your thugs, and sometimes your most descent expedition. It was always something, and it bothered her to deal with the complaints and fines.
Ningguang was heading to the gardens, on her way to her Jade Chamber, only to find you talking with a few older street kids. Strange. You appeared to be at ease with the teenagers. Your casual grin and your charming persona were gone, replaced by a genuine character. The sudden change took the Tianquan by surprise.
“Don’t go telling people that I’m going soft for you by letting you dine at my base,” you playfully warned. “I have to take care of my cousin so my chef can make tonight’s dinner. He should be done in an hour if you help him.”
“And he won’t mind?” asked the young girl. “I don’t wanna get in trouble with him.”
You chuckled. “Relax, kid. Just tell him that I sent you and he should ease up.”
The teens smiled and thanked you for your hospitality before running over to your place, most likely to eat. She didn’t miss the fond look you had as you watched them. Ningguang waited for you to leave before going back on her way. It wasn’t uncommon for someone to avoid the older orphans of Liyue. In fact, it was usually the teenagers that were avoided the most. However, it was often stereotyped that they were misguided.
She was now sitting at her desk and you were still plaguing her mind. Ningguang scoffed to herself and reread her papers. Now that she recalled, children had never badmouthed you… ever. It was always the adults. For once in her life, the great lady Ningguang was wrong.
   Maybe you weren’t completely bad…
Tumblr media
“Hey, Shenhe!” you greeted her almost happily.
Ever since you started eating outside of the city, Shenhe has been your go-to dining partner. Your excitement was unusual so you immediately caught her attention.
“You appear to be eager to see me today,” she said. “Did something happen?”
You nodded. “Yeah! I got you several things actually.” You handed her a small pouch of food, which she curiously looked over as you explained what it was. "I had my chef add a bit of those mountain herbs as a seasoning since you said you aren't quite used to actual meals yet. You mentioned that it is difficult to stomach so I am assuming it's because your stomach hasn't adapted to actual foods yet. Hopefully, it is to your liking."
Your kindness knew no bounds. You watched Shenhe slowly nibble at a few bites before eating her lunch with hungry chomps. Once she was done, you offered your handkerchief so she could wipe her mouth, which she graciously accepted.
"Thank you. You truly are a generous soul," she complimented.
The gentle smile you adorned nearly took the exorcist's breath away.
"That is mighty kind of you, Shenhe. However, that is not the only thing I wanted to give you."
This time Violet came out of your pocket holding a pair of earrings that were made of red rope. She eagerly went to your friend and held them out for her.
   “These… These earrings are-“
“I know, very unnecessary to give you but I was out in the market one day and I bought them thinking of you,” you admitted. “They looked like your ropes so I honestly purchased them on instinct.”
Shenhe was speechless with the gift, especially learning that they were last-minute. Her eyes moved to you as if she was trying to read you better. The energy you emitted amazed the exorcist. It felt otherworldly yet it somehow felt homely. She cherished the feeling, of accepting your gift, and holding it as if it would slip out of her hands.
The smile you gave her will always be treasured, and she will always be grateful for your kindness. When you left to go back to the city, Shenhe thought about the rumors of the merciless gang leader with the brutality of a power-hungry shark. You weren't at all like that, and she stared down at her reflection from the still pond water during the night, remembering the smile you wore, as she put on the earrings. She watched a butterfly flutter across the pool and she thought of the words you said to her when you first met.

A/N:  It totally hasn't been nearly three months since I last updated. But anyways, my school year started, and then as I was finishing up this chapter, my city decided to burn 28,000 acres of land. And we also got a second dog, so life is pretty hectic. I hope this chapter was still good, so until the next one :D
