Dear Amy, I love all your gifs! They are so well-timed, always with the perfect expression or moment with the OT7, and especially with Joon. The images are always crisp and clear, the lighting perfect, and the emotion conveyed so well! I have been so blessed watching your gifs over and over again. My question: Which are your top three favorite gifs you have made so far? I'm gonna be greedy and ask another question: Which your top three favorite gifs made by other gif-makers? I’m going to stick with recent faves of mine that I haven’t mentioned previously in asks

What a look. I’m usually almost excessively critical of my stuff but aside from maybe one thing I can’t find things to nitpick about this one :’)

The first time I was genuinely happy with and ALMOST content with my topaz settings (and it seemed to work really well on most other footage too) but I lost all my recent work 😭 and I don’t remember what I did rip 🙃 Anyway, I love when the members praise one another but I have an especially tender place in my heart for “Koo loves rapmonyung (rapmon hyung)” moments :’)

Even though there are some issues with quality here, there are a lot of visual elements I like in this vid that made it super fun to gif. I love rich autumn colors (Jin’s top), and I think red, white, and blue 🇫🇷 works really well aesthetically. I also really appreciated the moody lighting, the dark, unobtrusive striped backdrop, the harmonious balance of textures, patterns, and solid colors. And the crackhead in the beret. Really lucked out with this vid.

This might be the closest I ever get to making a follow forever post (they're cute and I love them but I would never) so I made this long. Probably not as thorough as it could be (in terms of whom I’ve tagged) and most of it is 2am delirium stream of consciousness word vomit but I’m glad I finally took the time to share my faves.

Really all you need to know about me: I like gifs that look like works of art. I focus a lot on the moments gifmakers capture too but if I see a crisp/artfully processed, beautifully colored gif, the content kind of fades into the bg 🙈 (just a litto bit). I can’t help being an aesthetic wh*re 👁👄👁. I also seem to favor gifmakers who make comp sets. And gifmakers who take their time.

✧ If I didn’t tag you, please don’t feel slighted :( The main reason I’ve categorically avoided answering these types of asks until now is because I’m really scatterbrained and I dread hurting feelings. Every content creator on this site is indispensable. Thank you to everyone who shares content with us.

You know a set is good when you actually verbalize your shock. That’s a common occurrence for me with Sky’s gifs. Her gifs for me (and probably most other people) are most easily distinguishable by the quality: dreamy, glowy, yet clear/defined/sharp? Often her gifs look 3-dimensional it’s sorcery. The coloring is soft but moody and natural but dramatic. She makes art. She’s just so consistently good. Gifs that are worth waiting for, gifs that are worth staying up for, and ones I look forward to every time content is released (no pressure though we can wait 🥺). NO ONE has her style. She is irreplaceable, inimitable, essential. I’m convinced she can make anything look good. Unhappy with yourself? Have Sky run you through topaz.

I think when we admire a creation we’re also admiring a reflection of the creator. Some of a person’s essence inevitably finds its way into anything they produce and Mollie’s gifs (AND HER PAINTINGS. LOOK.) radiate the qualities I absolutely adore in her.

Much like her fave Yoongi,

Mollie approaches anything she does with quiet determination and sees it through with tenacity. This is of course just my personal impression of Molls but her brain seems super organized and streamlined. She’s very no-nonsense (while still being a huge softie 🥺 and so hilarious) and when she’s focused she doesn’t seem to get dragged down by extraneous bullshit. So good at keeping her head above water--prioritizes SO well. I respect the hell out of her. Anyway, all that gets transferred into the gifs she makes. Every single thing. Just look at these and tell me you don’t see what I see.

Picking only three was so hard. Her most recent yoongi gifs are so tasty. Go look at her color series 😭.

Hobi is such a force. I hope he’s seen how much scary power, talent, and potential he has in himself. I rewatched some old Boa vids recently and people kept saying she’s The Example of when genius meets bone-grinding hard work, unbending work ethic and drive and dedication. And on top of that she’s incredibly soft, emotionally intelligent, self aware, and vulnerable. And I think the same can be said about all of bangtan but I’ve most often thought that of hobi lately. He doesn’t have just professional excellence. He seems to care for the people in his life extremely well too (that isn’t to say the other members don’t), and managing interpersonal relations well is, in my opinion, the hardest, most important thing in life, and I love how this set shows us a bit of how hobi excels at it :’) https://hopekidoki.tumblr.com/post/619085403291549696

You may or may not know this about me (I literally never shut up about it) but I am obsessed with peaches and browns in gifs. Marti does brown(ish?) and peachy creamy skin so well. I also love when gifs look…mm….wet. I really don’t know how else to put it agsjshs but I don’t know anyone who does it better than Marti.

I’m really partial to gifmakers who take their time with their gifs and Karina always seems to take the time to get her gifs to look just the way she wants. I love that SO SO much. No rushing, just an artist honing and enjoying their craft. Every choice she makes is (or at least looks) deliberate. You can just see that she makes gifs as a creative outlet and that she genuinely enjoys doing it.
