I had an idea in my head and man-oh-man! It turned out WAY better than I hoped. I wanted to do a fluid art mani and I wanted to try the chain drag method. I don't know what it is actually called and I don't know who pioneered this technique. I can tell you that the first time I saw it, was on @iamdeliasnails page. *if you aren't following her...WHY NOT?? .Anyway, I wanted to do a liquid flame I guess you could call it. But ngl, it is kinda giving me Lava lamp vibes. .The polishes I used are: Oh Snap (yellow) from @orly Retrowave collection, Daredevil (orange) from @fairmaidenpolish , and Redrum (red) from @sinfulcolors_official's Hypnotic Transforming Topcoat. It is the collection that creates the cells. .I made my fluid art decals, using my own made fluid art polish. Then I put a stripe of each of the polishes. I dragged my chain across the stripes and voila...liquid flames! I got my first @fairmaidenpolish while I was at the PBE. I was drawn to pinks while I was there. This polish is called 'Orchid.' It went on smoothly and was opaque in 2 coats. Apparently skittles are my go-to now. I just received my @orly Fall Color Pass and OMG!! I am dead! If you aren't signed up for the Color Pass, you need to do it. They always include extras. Here are the pre-swatch nakies. And I started thinking about nailcare and what you do for your nailcare routines. I make a couple thing for myself and have been using them for probably 4 years. One is a nail exfoliator/ moisturizer scrub and I also make a cuticle balm. I start by getting my nails damp, then massage Blue Cross cuticle remover on my cuticles and nail plate. Then I do and initial cutile push with the cuticle pusher from @ejiubas It has a very sharp edge and can really get the cuticle pushed back and lifted from the nail plate. I re wet my nails and then use the @germanikure glass, cuticle pusher. Thus glass pusher actually removes the dead skin, when used properly. No need for cutting cuticles with nippers. Then I scrub my nails with a nail brush and use my exfoliator. My exfoliator removes the shiny, yellow layer from excessive polishing and it also whitens your nails. I follow up with my cuticle balm.
