The positive reply was welcome and reassuring. The supervisor used cleaning and other housework as a way to keep his head clear, and there was only so much he could do with just his own appartement and a painful 4-day ban from duty.

Seitarou’s home wasn’t a messy one if what he had seen the first time he’d gone there still held true, but he would make it spotless. If not to relieve Seitarou of some more work, then simply to keep himself from not using his time efficiently.

The mood shifted quickly with Seitarou’s next long message - Kenshirou knew the time had to come, but it would still be hugely stressful for his love, and even for him. From how Seitarou had so cautiously alluded to past mistreatment, the supervisor could summise that it was a very severe scar.

He definitely did wish to have that talk, it was a necessary part that they needed to work through in order for their relationship to progress. Kenshirou felt glad that Seitarou was the one suggesting it, it was at least some indication that he was closer to being ready than not. The supervisor was swift with his replies. He knew it was getting later, and Seitarou wouldn’t have the luxury of sleeping in.

[🐶🌸☄🐱]: “Of course we can talk, i’ll be ready to listen to you any moment you ask. Even with this extra time we’ve been allotted to try, I won’t force you to speak if you begin to feel like you can’t do it quite yet after all.”

It was important that Seitarou didn’t feel pressured by anyone, forcing it out could drive a divide between the two of them. Even so, it was also a priority to find out how badly he had been harmed in the past, never allow a repeat, and help him work through the trauma.

[🐶🌸☄🐱]: “There will be other opportunities if we miss this one, and I could wait forever if you asked that of me. It all depends on how you feel about it. You’re the best thing that has happened to me in so many years, I would never dare treat you wrong.”

Understandably, the news of what had happened to lieutenant Tanabata had worried the Warden in the private meeting with her supervisor. Ruthless though she could seem, that woman cared for the people working under her. It wasn’t for nothing that the Dog had adored her so much, and wouldn’t relinquish his work-related loyalty despite his changed feelings.

Though Kenshirou had kept quiet about Seitarou and 409 having past conflicts, she was understandably concerned for the young guard’s safety and wellbeing. The move of 409 was advised because of the fight he’d had with Kenshirou, but the added bonus was that Sei would not have to deal with him again.

[🐶🌸☄🐱]: “Warden Hyakushiki personally asked me to ensure you are doing well right now, since I was the first on site to help. Do you have any appointments with doctor Kimura planned?”

[🐶🌸☄🐱]: “She might suggest you take a few easy days to properly recover, not taking days of but just limiting yourself to the basic duties of building 13 for a bit, so that you don’t have to leave the environment you’re most familiar with.”

[🐶🌸☄🐱]: “It’s all up to you though, i’ll support you no matter what, and will always wish to help you through a safe and healthy recovery process. You will probably already be at work when I get to your place tomorrow, but i’ll wait for you to come home.”

The supervisor felt his heart ache, eager for his duty tomorrow to welcome his love into his arms first thing, after the lieutenant’s day at work.
