Finally feel like I can say something coherent, so here goes... I say this without a shred of exaggeration: Akira Toriyama was legitimately one of the most important creative figures of the last 50 years. His work, especially Dragon Ball, has influenced SO much even outside its own medium. Movies, TV, cartoons, comic books, video games, MUSIC... all of it. You can see his fingerprints in so many other works. Even now, artists and writers, voice actors and animators, musicians and game devs are all mourning him and reflecting on the impact he had on their own work. Titans of anime and manga are sharing in this pain. The craziest thing about this though? The humility he had in spite of it. He was always reluctant to be in the spotlight, preferred to keep his head down and just work, never really worried that much about public perception of himself. Part of what makes him such an icon, man. Losing him is losing a piece of our shared history. It's something that resonates deep in the hearts of everyone his work touched. This is just... such a loss. And I can't even begin to imagine what his family is going through right now. Praying for them all. Rest in Peace to a literal Legend, an absolute Icon, and a personal inspiration in more ways than I could ever express properly.

it's strange... what are those things? like old toys that were popular a long time ago, but; they look too... alive to just be toys.

I don't really know how to encapsulate the impact Akira Toriyama's work has had on my life.

As a scared and stressed little kid,I tried to make sense of my life in the context of some great battle that just had to be endured. I dreaded it and I hated *that* I dreaded it - that I wasn't some shining hero ever-ready to stand up straight and face whatever would come.

And Toriyama wrote a story about this whimpering little boy at odds with all these archetypal warriors all around him that I studied like a holy book.

To this day, when life is particularly exhausting, I'll notice little doodles of an exhausted and weepy little Gohan on the margins of scrap paper, and I imagine him getting up, patting clothes to shake off the dust, and wavering into a defensive stance to go at it again. And I go at my tasks again too.

Rest well, Toriyama. Gods know you earned it.

So, my biggest DB oc, Zeron. Ancient icejin mutant, that had a mutation to which he kept growing to immense sizes. Being 20 million at his time, he is docile and calm, until angered, due to which he destroyed planet he was on (maybe even icejin homeworld) and ends up hybernating. His body was covered by rubble, dust and ice, turning him into a wandering comet, as he spends much time aimlessly floating.

Zeron is calm, very passive and slow during calmness. He cant talk due to wide throat and doesnt know modern languages, speaking ancient Icejin with whisper that resembles steam sound. He likes drawing by excavating ground and hills with fingers and tail tip. Has a very ignorant temperament.

But when triggered, angered, threatened, or if something/someone he likes is in danger, he goes on full Cellmax monster rage, leaving nothing but complete annihilation and destruction behind in ruins. Strong, but not as strong as modern icejins like Frieza. But well... he never trained either.

So there's this AU I have with a friend (I draw and they write) where Zamasu finds somehow himself in Hell after dying and he meets Z Gogeta. That's it, that's the premise. And I love them (I swear it all started with "they both have halos" LMAO).

→ Turns out their dynamic would be hilarious and it's awesome

Need to say that it is specifically Z Gogeta and not the DBS one. Entirely based on headcanons but the AU just works better that way!
