if there’s something season 3 did perfectly was Simon’s character, I love how his care for social issues was fully explored, and the fact that he tries to show wille several times the actual power of his privilege is so important and this scene is the perfect example of that!

it's been interesting but I'll just like to say that the consistency (and improvement) in the quality of Edvin's acting through the seasons, and being able to deliver outstandingly enough to keep my rapt attention (even managed to make me ignore/forget the mess because all I'm recollecting from the s3 mentions is Edvin as Wilhelm being a babe and a badass) through it all regardless of the material (even when he had and politely voiced reservations about them) is grounds for him getting knighted and saint status.

TIMES I FELT ROBBED OF WILMON IN SEASON3

When Simon was making out with Wille in front of the lockers and Wille asked him to go to his room so they could finish what they started! That bus excuse just didn’t do it for me cuz Wille has the royal court answering to his beck and call when he needs it! I mean we’ve seen them take Wille to Simon’s house late before! They could easily drop Simon home before Linda got back from work! So I was left scratching my head in frustration during that scene.

The tent scene boiled my piss more than any other scene in the whole show! First with the shushing and then the fight which was completely avoidable🙄 . They did everything so they could sleep together in the same tent only for them to fight yet again instead of cuddling and being the insufferable boyfriends they were meant to be!

Not to be greedy or ungrateful but in episode 3 after Simon and Wille praised and worshiped each other’s bodies, I wanted to see them cuddle! Talk another time! Or better yet, talk while cuddling.

Not getting a single kiss in episode 4 and 5🧐 not even on Wille’s birthday?

The phone sex scene! Couldn’t Wille get on the call earlier? Or call Simon from his laptop? I NEEDED them to fall asleep on the phone with each other not whatever that was

DISCLAIMER: I am proud of Simon for putting himself first but episode 5 was not the time in my opinion😭😭😭 I really wish he comforted Wille in that scene and then broke up with him in the morning or something! I get where Simon was coming from but Wille was at his lowest. He needed a hug and someone to comfort him in that moment

The one time they showed us a “sleepover” scene with Wille and Simon yet we didn’t get a forehead or good morning kiss🥴🥴🥴

#listen i didn’t expect s3 to be all smooth sailing i expected conflict and i like their fights as well #but when it feels like we're actually learning from it and using it to move forward #and i hoped they would've gained some better communication skills at this point #but it felt at times just conflict for drama's sake and used as a plot device to justify their disconnect and difficulties and break up #so i understand feeling a bit 'robbed' #we got tons of sweet happy makeout scenes but there was always this underlying tension that they weren't adressing their issues #and nothing was actually working out for them and they were just ignoring the elephant in the room half of the time #and wow i can't believe we really got no kiss at all in ep4 AND 5. they couldn't have given us one nice moment on Wille's birthday? #things i wanted this season: wille giving simon a forehead kiss. wille carrying simon which we kinda got but I wanted in a different contex #and i wanted a bit more from the lake scene. there could have been a beautifully done intimacy scene that I feel robbed of #Wille not using his cp privileges this season was killing me. you're telling me he had to give up his phone and adhere to the curfew? #so that he would be unreachable by his mother who is the head of state of the country and is not doing well atm? #and you're right wille could've made the royal court or his security do things. make up a lie he has to visit his mother to the headmaster #which she couldn't refuse. it's the fucking head of state and your future head of state i'm sorry but you have no power here #and then he could just go and visit simon or meet him somewhere else instead #and making simon break up with wille and 'putting himself first' again like we didn't already go through that in s1 was a choice #i understood it there but did we really have to make them go through that again when it's only one episode left #wilmon #s3 #just one last note: they did talk and cuddle after the ep3 sex scene didn't they? i mean they were being physically affectionate #but the fact that was also the only sex scene for all of s3 ughh we had them together for an entire season this time we could've gotten mor #instead of just interruptions we could've gotten at least two nice and very different intimacy scenes spread out #*more #i feel the need to rewrite season 3 so bad there is so much i want to change

August's Ending Was NOT "Justice"

I am astonished and frankly appalled when I see people extolling how August's storyline was concluded, lauding it as the best and most appropriate fate for him, and going on and on about how beautiful the poetic justice of it was.

And then those exact same people pat themselves on the back for being in favor of social justice, talk about how the system must be burned down, and preach about how even though it is hard to destroy institutions it is so important to keep trying.

And they do not see or understand how these two positions conflict with one another.

First, those who believe that August becoming the new Crown Prince is a fitting punishment must also be in favor of the monarchy continuing. They have to be pro-Monarchy because how else can August's "punishment" take effect? And they have to want the monarchy to reign on exactly as-is with no change or advancement because, again, August must face the exact same system that Wille did as his "punishment."

And since they want the monarchy to continue unchanged, they also are in favor of giving an unrepentant sex offender money, power, and influence. They want August to be given more money, power, and influence than Wilhelm because August will now outrank Wille. But that is "punishment" for August apparently.

They want August to be looked up to, admired, and set up as a role model, catered to, bowed down to, extolled as a leader, and have his ego continually stroked. Because that is "punishment" for him. They want August to represent (fictional) Sweden on the world stage. That's his "punishment."

"But it's "punishment" because August will be sad!" they cry! "He has lost Sara and won't be able to do anything he wants! The show told us so", they exclaim!

What the show actually depicted was that what August wants is to have authority, admiration, class privilege, and a system that will coverup his wrongs. Guess what he gets as Crown Prince: Check, all of the above.

August's desires are completely in synch with what the Crown wants *and* August is good at the slick, surface level glad handing and PR required. The Court can with utmost discretion make sure he gets treatment for any addiction or disorders he may have; the military service can offer the structure and chain-or-command he adores; the Palace, which he can control more completely than he ever controlled Hillerska because he is the only option, will be his new home; no more need to make up lies to appease others, Royal PR will do that for him. And now Vincent has a direct line of access to and influence over the Monarchy. But August is the one being "punished" here.

"But he's lost Sara!!!" Sara was right, his feelings for her will pass because they weren't about her, they were about the way she made him feel. There will be lots and lots of women who will be more than happy to make him feel good about himself.

Those who are happy with how August's storyline ended are happy that the cis het rich white male got away with every crime he committed without even being subjected to public shaming or ridicule, or any loss of status and instead was given his heart's desire. Because he may regret it one day. And that is sufficient "punishment" for him. Right.

Guess I was wrong for wanting to see Prince Andrew prosecuted and made to account for his actions. He's been punished enough apparently, is continually being punished in fact, because he is a royal and must resign himself to all the indignities that come with being the 1% of the 1%. Good on King Charles to make sure he is oh so "punished."

August's ending was perfect poetic justice! Just once, it would be nice to get actual justice served on the person that represented classism, racism, sexism, all the "isms" and more. But no, not even in a work of fiction. The rich white man wins again.

Maybe Young Royals is a realistic drama after all.

#yeah fuck that lmao #i simply don't want there to be even the possibility of august having a higher rank than Wilhelm #if there's anyone i wanna see in this position and would be fine with becoming king it would be wille #bc i think he could and would do changes and that is not as far fetched and unrealistic to believe as they try to tell us #i said it before and I'll say it again: august might think he wants the royal life and is good at it on the surface #but wille can actually handle it better i stand by that no matter what s3 is trying to sell me #he might be struggling now but he still has shown the qualities you want in a king and i'm sorry August has not #being kind and empathetic and coming across as real and authentic and not being a performative monkey #i don't understand how those things are not valued in the fictional royal family in the show and they're not supposed to have any emotions #and coming across a certain 'professional' way and lying to preserve this so called image are the preferred options #August can only handle this life and keeping up his own level of perfectionism by policing his body and abusing pills #and who knows maybe in the long run he won't be able to keep it up anymore. i wouldn't say that august is a safer option than wille #not to mention that it would mean he would get away with the crime he comitted which he's still being protected by #but it makes no sense that no one in the public or any press or media wouldn't dig into it and wouldn't be able to find out what he did #like i said in another post a couple days ago: it will come out and he will get exposed sooner or later #they can't make me think felice is the only who could figure it out and once the accusation is out there august and the kungahus are fucked #so i refuse to believe he would actually become crown prince. i'm deciding to live in my own delulu state or whatever you say #august #text
