Ryu's tum tum hurts
As the investigation was going underway, Ryu felt more and more light-headed. His head spun, and his vision would flash in and out. Above all else he could feel his stomach roll. Maybe it was the stale air of the basement or the emotional strain, but he had to puke. Peeling away from the group, Ryu ran down the small hallway, and to where they had found the bathroom, he kneels next to the toilet and vomits, feeling much better after he had cleared his stomach. He sat there near the toilet, waiting for his head to settle.

"Oh uh, yeah," Ryu says, grabbing his own wrist that Haruki just let go, "But yeah it was no big deal I didn't like mind or some shit," He gives a casual shrug, scratching the back of his head.
"And I'm glad to hear you can trust me i uh," He was completely out of his element here in a situation with mutual trust and positive emotions, so he gives an awkward smile, before letting his face fall back to neutral.
He remembered reading that you're supposed to share your feelings to communicate so he pushes himself to, "I feel like i can also trust... Trust you as well." That was weird but he felt good to have contributed, "What'd you want to tell me?"

There he was.
Haruki narrowed his eyes, rolling forward faster in an effort to catch up to the other figure, disappearing down the hallway. There wasn’t much time, after all… Soon enough, they’d be back in confinement, forced into their rooms.
But Haruki… needed to say something. Finally. He’d… taken his time, but now the feeling in his gut said that things were moving–something big was happening and everything might change in a single second.
He had to tell him now.
Haruki exhaled, trying to calm his racing heart even as he reached out.
“Hotaru,” Haruki called, voice as calm as he could manage and firm from behind as he gently grabbed the other boy’s wrist to stop him in his tracks.

Ryu Hotaru woke up in a manner similar to a zombie bursting from a grave. He groaned, feeling like his back was about to snap in half as he lumbered out of his bed. He stayed up impossibly late for no reason other than the lack of necessity to rest, and it was all catching up with him. He didn't do well sleeping in new environments, so this was rough for him
"Nothing that copious amounts of caffeine can't fix," Ryu grumbles to himself as he stumbled into the kitchen, still in his Pajamas with his glasses hanging from the neckline of his shirt. His pajamas consisted of a white tee shirt and fuzzy booty short Pjs that said JUICY on the ass. He flipped between squinting heavily to see and keeping his eyes shut to soak up some rest. Either way, he looked like the dead.
Ryu made a beeline for the instant coffee maker and flicked it on, sliding a mug under it. It took him far too long to recognize that another student was in the kitchen, and ryu didn't take the time to confirm who it was. "Gmorning, I feel like shit." He greets, "Nice ass hotel beds but the fuckin pillows are murder on the neck, amiright or amiright."
He wasn't particularly acquainted with his classmates yet, but he never felt that over the top introductions or faux first impressions were necessary. A light conversation with genuine intent at heart is all it takes to no someone, and Ryu wS entirely genuine about the pillows. His neck was absolutely killing him in addition to settling in to the new atmosphere. Strangers in a confined space made him unnerved, but these were his classmates. People who were hand picked by Hopes Peak, therefore they can't be too bad.

Shujin sat up in bed with a shudder. That had been some nightmare, indeed. He couldn’t recall the details, but he felt oddly sad in waking from it. “Hmm.” Still, he clambered out of bed, pulling his hair out of its night-time braid and letting it spill down his back. Loose pink waves were as good a style as any, and for some reason, he didn’t feel like making any particular effort with it, this morning. He briefly wished he had some casual clothes to wear, but the wardrobe was merely full of copies of his school uniform. Still, with a few adjustments, the white silk shirt over black jeans didn’t look much like a uniform. Shujin figured that if he was stuck in the hotel, well… No-one except students were there. No-one would be bothered if he didn’t dress formally all the time. Shujin ventured down to the kitchen, starting to gather up some food for breakfast. Somehow, he wasn’t too unhappy here. The SHSL students weren’t as bad as he would have imagined. He was even proud to call some of them his good friends; Something that, if he’d been told it a few months ago, would have caused him to laugh whoever said it out of the room. He smiled as he made himself a giant cup of hot chocolate and topped it with a mountain of whipped cream. Perhaps he was over-indulging, but this was, to all intents and purposes, a free holiday. And he hadn’t had a holiday in almost a decade. No-one else seemed to be around this morning. Perhaps he’d woken too early, or too late. Still, it was a good opportunity to take his time eating as much as he wanted while no-one else was around.

Ryu had been taking one of his very few breaks outside his room, making his way to the kitchen with a stack of dusty dishes he had kept stored in his room. He was walking in silence, before he felt a hand grab his wrist to halt him.
Initially fear flashed through his body, before his eyes caught on Haruki’s form and he relaxes, “Oh hey. What do you uh,” He examines over Haruki’s visibly flustered form, “What’s up?” He places the dishes on the ground, so he can burrow his hands in his pockets.
He hadn’t really seen Haruki in a while and was both anxious and happy to see him. He shifted weight from foot to foot, not sure how to stand without looking weird.

(( im on mobile so this is my casual trim)) Of course I'd take notice if you said no," He deadpanned, dropping himself into the empty seat, "I'm not about to enter a dialogue with a conversational partner that's uninterested or unwilling to participate," he absentmindedly swirled the syrup around on his plate with the metal fork. "Unless the information was life saving or something," Ryu's clarifications served only to allow him time to collect his thoughts, as he kept his gaze completely stuck on his meal. Doubt choked him, leaving him unable to begin speaking. He couldn't do this; being vulnerable and open about his thoughts was a foreign concept to him, and he was ill-prepared to begin now. A grimace crossed his face as he lay the fork back down on the table, too nervous to eat at the moment. The small conversational topic was welcomed, allowing him to slide into his topic, "Yeah... I was a bit uh..." Nervous fingers picked up the fork again, poking at the pancake, "Holed up in my room before... everything and uh, thought i should get back to a normal life. But listen," Once he started talking, he just pushed on, barely pausing to breathe as he talked, "I was a bit unfair. At least in my treatment of you. I mean It was a logical assumption to have my suspicions of you, but you shouldn't have to have been subjected to unfair actions against you because of my own doubts and paranoia. That's a problem for me and I shouldn't 'a dragged others down because of it and thats all I wanted to say, okaythanksforlistening." After his quick piece, he scooped up a chunk of pancake and stuffed it into his mouth to give him something to do to burn off nervous energy. @headofreservecoursecouncil

In the hotel, he had nothing but his wits and his reputation. Monokuma's isolation motive, despite seeming like a blessing to him at first, has slowly sapped away at his wits, leaving him frazzled and in near tears. Solitary Confinement was not suitable for anyone, even a proclaimed loner like Ryu. His mental health had drastically suffered, old nasty habits returning when he only had himself to stand against. His nights and days had blurred together, and sleep was caught fleetingly and scattered. He was glad things were back to normal, and he knew he had to make a better effort to socialize.
His reputation, however, had remained as the hotel jerk: a standoffish, grudge holding, rude kid. During the trial, he'd found himself lighter, and more joking than he should have been, despite his grief over Hoshiko's death and the subsequent drowning mention. Ryu had come to the firm belief that he needed to get out more, socializing would help his health and make him feel like life was back to normal.
Down in the kitchen, he prepared the first proper breakfast of his hotel days. The pancakes were slightly overcooked and lumpy, but he was proud of his efforts, and more proud that he had actually gotten it done. Red eyes scanned the table area, instinctively trying to pick out a free table. It struck him how tragic it was that nearly every table was free now that their numbers had been practically halved. The only other member currently in the dining area was Shujin, and Ryu felt a twinge of unease recalling their previous disagreements.
Before he could put more thought into it, he walked right over and put his plate of pancakes down opposite where Shujin sat, not thinking to ask if he could sit. The plate clattered down, the noise grinding against his eardrums, but he largely ignored it. One hand rested on the head of the chair, ready to pull it back so he could sit if need be, and the other lay next to his plate on the table as he hovered there in mid-action.
"Akaya," He began, voice a higher pitch than he'd like it, but not too far out of his regular range, "I believe there are... a few things I need to say that are... way past overdue," His brow furrowed as he began his speech, not out of disdain for what he had to say, but out of confusion, as if he didn't know where he was going or how to bring about his concerns to life. Ryu was thoroughly out of his element.
"Can I sit?" He asked, "Like yknow. Here? So we can talk?"
Chapter 5: Start
(tagging everyone still alive!! @shsl-crocker @shslcartographxr @cryptographer @un-luckster @ultimateglassblower @gameshowfever ) (it’s under a cut ‘cause it got really long) Shujin was dealing with the situation reasonably well, considering all aspects. After the trial, he’d stumbled back to his room in a daze, barely able to see with his glasses fogged from tears. Orochi had been playing with him. All along, every smile, every offer of friendship… A performance worthy of an Ultimate Thespian, in every aspect. Even now, he had a grudging speck of respect for the actor - He’d been taken in completely by his act.

Ryu was sick of his room. He was sick of the pasty yellow and brown walls staring back at him mockingly, like the cheerful colors were supposed to bring him enjoyment. He was sick of his self-imposed isolation as he theorized and theorized, reaching dead ends each time. He was sick of the dusty smell of his room: the stale air he’d been partnered with for the 12 days. More than anything, he was sick of staring at the door connecting his room to the now vacant home of where Hoshiko once lived.
He was done with his seclusion, it was high time for him to get out, breath new air and socialize. He found that he hadn’t done much of the latter, but it was better than nothing. His first night was spent under a ballroom table, sleeping in an impromptu sleeping bag made with two pillows and copious blankets. He was all set for a night of mourning alone, but it beat his stuffy room. The dust from under the table tickled his nose, and he let out a quiet sneeze, not thinking to hold it back.
The bodily reaction was met with the voice of someone who sounded a lot like Akemi. He sat up in surprise, a dull thud being heard as his head bonked the underside of the table. “SonuvaBITCH,” he yelped, crawling out from under the table rubbing his head, “Jesus you scared me, what are you doing here? It’s late at night and i’m trying to get comfortable.” He gave her a squint and a once over, deducing that she wasn’t there to kill him, before his body relaxed significantly: bunched shoulders falling into a slouch, creased brows smoothing to a regular scowl, and twisted frown flattening to a more neutral, albeit sour, state.
@ultimateglassblower
Snrxx over
After the trial, the hotel was free of the fingerprint scanners and iron walls that confined them within an already confined space. Akemi breathed a sigh of relief, glad to be able to go around the hotel again. The nighttime announcement was sure to play soon, but the last place she wanted to be was her room. So she followed the crowd to the second floor, but only went into her room to grab a few things.
She had pulled all the wrinkled sheets off of her bed and carried her pillow under one arm to the elevator once everyone was safely inside their rooms. She didn’t want to be followed or found, as she was convinced an argument would follow. While some time had passed, she was unwavering in her belief that everyone hated her with as much passion she had in hating herself.
She entered the ball room without ceremony, blankets dragging on the ground behind her. The tables were exactly as they had been when there were nine students alive instead of seven. The numbness in her persisted until she crawled under a table and got her sheets wrapped around her.
For the first time in weeks, she felt sad. She felt everything crashing down around her, and there was nothing she could do but weep. She was trapped in a murder game, more than half of them were already dead, and the ones alive likely wanted her to be dead as well. She had no hope left, no discernable identity that she was aware of, and not a single friend. She cried silently, the hot tears getting absorbed by her sailor uniform. She was alone and there was no escape, her own death officially inevitable.
Her sobs were interrupted by a sneeze, despite the room seeming empty when she entered. Without ceasing crying she softly called out: “W-Who’s there? Are you here to kill me already?”

Ryu was gone. His gay ass was astral projecting somewhere in the Atlantic ocean, as he refused to deal with the reality of hoshiko’s death. At least this time he didn’t have any significant clues to contribute, and was content in avoiding the whole mess. If he were to have it his way, he’d be back in his room blocking all of this out
Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be, as yelling voices hit his ears, dragging him back to reality. Ugh, this shit? He headed to the kitchen, snatching up two of his coffee-stained cups to fill it with icy water. Ambling over to the fight, which was significantly heating up, he took the time to think about the whole situation. Someone actually fucking murdered over this useless fucking motive.
It wasn’t long until Shujin and Orochi came into his field of vision. He stood there, taking a sip of one cup of water, tasting a hint of coffee. He observed the argument, scoffing to himself about how juvenile it was. Without any word or warning, he splashed a cup full of water one each participant.
“Hey shut the fuck up.” He said, dangling both cups by his pinkies, "I would have brought a squirt bottle but nobody's allowed in the conviniemce store"
“Maybe instead of bitching at each other in the halls, you go your separate ways? We don’t wanna fucking die. So let’s not waste time whining. Morioka’s allowed to mourn and Ayaka’s allowed to go investigate. We’re all sad about this, you fucking shitheads, so just back off each other and do your own thing so i can go back to crying my eyes out in a corner.”
Continued from x “I’m not berating you.” Shujin’s eyes slid over to fix on Orochi’s face, “I’m just stating facts. And the fact is, if you’d listened to me and faced up to reality, you would have been prepared for this eventuality.” “That’s just how things work here. There’s no point growling at me about it. I didn’t kill her, and I didn’t put us in this situation.” His eyebrows drew together, carefully lined green eyes narrowing beneath them, “Unless, of course, you think I did.” He stood up following his words, “I didn’t know her, so don’t pin me for not being too torn up over it. I’ll save my distress for when you die, thanks. Until then, sitting around here sniffling over a corpse isn’t going to help the investigation, so you might as well come with me and see if there’s any evidence around to pick up.”

Ryu squints against Orochi's smile, "All of you have been whining. I'm busting my balls here and all of you have become complacent." Waving his notebook in the air for effect, "There's no use of sitting around like this. Are you guys planning to stay here forever or do you want to leave?" He seems to be getting worked up, less in his usual anger and more for the passion of what he's preaching, "As for what I've been doing, is I've been compiling clues from all corners of the hotel, from anything that even mentions the outside world, and i'm making some theories. I'm going to fucking figure out who's behind this, what we've forgotten, and how go escape. And I have no qualms doing it all by myself if I must. Who the fuck is Hamlet?" The whole thing was said in a single breath and with the same impassioned tone.
A Feast Of Kings
Orochi Morioka wasn’t feeling well. His feet dragged on the floor a bit as he made his way to the cafeteria for dinner. He didn’t want to eat anything, for fear of it just coming right back up. However, he didn’t want to worry anyone either.
So, the thespian made his way to the cafeteria. It felt nice to have time to himself every now and then, to let down his guard and relax for a small while. This was too long though. It was getting to him… The isolation was going to tear him apart sooner or later. He had to see people.
‘Fake it until you become it’.
Possibly a horrid motto, but he found that it applied well to how he had to behave in his time here. He had to continue this, as well. Based off of what he’d witnessed earlier… he had to try even harder for his friends. They needed him to be chipper and charismatic for them.
He sat in the cafe quietly, frowning a bit as he realized he was the only one there for the moment… However, the moment someone came in, they would be greeted with a confident smile. “Good evening!”

Ezra thought he had been doing okay with his whole little plan. He’d had a few bumps, sure, but for the most part he’d barely talked to anyone, and while it felt weird going back into isolation after everything, it was also strangely comforting. He was safe, his friends were safe, everything was okay. Well. Relatively.
One small, nagging worry though, was that he’d literally never seen Ryu. Sure, they weren’t exactly…friends, probably, but Ezra had seen everyone else but the cryptographer out and about at least once now, and Ezra was wondering if Ryu had come out of his room at all. How was he getting food if he wasn’t? Was he eating at all? Was he even still alive?
Okay, maybe that was a little overdramatic, but still. So when Ezra finally spotted the cryptographer, it felt like he was seeing a ghost. He took off his glasses and wiped at them, just to make sure he wasn’t hallucinating somehow, but no-Ryu was there, and real, and decidedly not looking the healthiest but he was alive, so. That was good. More than good, actually. Ezra hadn’t realized how worried he was until he felt the relief creeping back in. Thank god. No more death. Not yet.
After a moment, Ezra realized he had been staring, and quickly looked away as if the paint on the walls was suddenly the most interesting thing in the world. He’d wait for Ryu to leave the hallway-there was no way the other student would want to talk to him, after all-and then he’d sneak back down and return to his room like he hadn’t even been there at all. Easy peasy. Well. Probably.
The hallways were empty and blissfully quiet, and if it wasn’t for his bright orange sweater, Ryu would probably not have seen Ezra. Out of the remaining members of the hotel, Ezra would be in about the middle of who Ryu would care to consider trustworthy. He never gave him reason for distrust, and was a fairly un-aggressive and non-confrontational presence.
In addition, in their prior meeting in front of the clock, he had found the other to be intelligent, and came up with good points to brainstorm. It seemed he was a good candidate to bounce ideas off of.
With this in mind, Ryu decided to prod at him to see what he thought about the whole situation. He ambled over, notepad in hand, the paper pressed against his chest. He gave a half wave to Ezra with his free hand, pencil between two of his fingers, “Hey,” He said, “You got any theories or some shit about what’s going on, because mine are quickly falling into the shitter.”
In a sliver of self awareness, he realized that this wasn’t a very polite way to greet someone. While he’d normally blow a concern like that off, he was feeling much more comfortable with the firm schedule in place, and  wanted Ezra to be engaged in the conversation, so he threw out a hasty, “Oh How are you doing?”
Hell Yeah

“It’s not an insult. pal,” Ryu scoffs, with less vile than he’d normally carry. He still hasn’t broken out into any kind of grin, but his pronounced slouch melted away for a bit and he looked as if a dramatic amount of weight was lifted from him, “I’ve been working my ass off to figure this hotel out while you guys have been socializing and whining about finally getting some alone time.” His sentence slows at the end, before the boy pauses to put ketchup on his burger, as he does so, he picks his sentence back up again, “This is the best god damn motive that shit reeking bear could have ever come up with.” He takes a bite of his meal, near to rounding the food off, “Finally we have a sensible ass schedule in this hotel.” He pointed the final bite of the burger at Orochi and asked, “So what’ve you been doin’?” before popping the bite into his mouth,

Hell Yeah
Being trapped in a hotel sucked and having your every move controlled by a bear also sucked, but there’s nothing Ryu loved more than solitude. He had been planning a self imposed isolation anyway: staying in his room and maybe popping out for food, so this was the perfect turn of events for him.
For the first few days, all he did was hole himself in his room and theorize about their situation. His thoughts were drastically clearer since he had no distractions and no need to worry about other people. In true theorist practice, he had pictures and notes pinned to the wall with red thread running between some of them. The theories were right under where the camera was positioned, so that his thought process wouldn’t be viewable by monokuma.
As the days progressed though, he found his theories getting wilder and wilder, none of which landed in the least. Begrudgingly, he realized he’d need to take a break or at least get a second opinion. Shuffling his notebook together, he took a quick shower and headed out to the new floor that they were just allowed on for the current time.

Early this morning, Ryu had decided to make a wise investment in some coffee. There were a multitude of cold coffee mugs sitting in various places around his room, but he wanted a fresh, warm cup so he wasn't stuck in sensory hell with the icy coffee. Ever since the trial he's been a whirlwind of emotions. The ever present grief of the dead had run stale for him, and something more of relief had begun to take over. His two brothers wouldn't be dying, and, unfortunately for Addy, it was all thanks to Takehiko. He'd never actually voice his emotions of almost gratitude to anyone, especially not Hoshiko, but the emotions were there and he wasn't about to convince himself otherwise. Intermixed in his relief and grief was the feeling of guilt. He was painfully aware how selfish and disgusting it made him to feel nearly glad someone was killed, and he was sickened at himself. Addy was one of the few people in this hotel that he'd consider good company, and he'd never have a chance to actually befriend her. He was sure in this mess there was a message about human nature, but he wasn't too inclined to look into it. Not yet at least. If he had gotten any closer to sorting out his feelings and maybe choosing a façade to employ, it was all halted by the presence of Hyun. She was decked out in the accessories of the dead, killer and killed alike. Memories of the previous weeks at the hotel clashed together, and all the time he'd spent ignoring the trauma they went through was for naught. His head spun, and instinctively he covered his eyes and looked away. He couldn't bear to be reminded to the tragedies, nor would he be willing to face his own conflictions with any of it. "Why the fuck are you wearing that?" He asked, eyes firmly fixed on a grainy pattern in the wall, fingers tapping rhythmically on his leg, "You can't just wear a dead person's clothes like that. There's likely a world of disrespects or some shit connected to like graverobbing clothes." @shsl-crocker
morning vore feat finally honorin the dead homies
Hyun awoke earlier than normal, almost like something tipped her off there was a bad feeling in the air, probably because there was. After reading the messages on the E-Handbook, she set it down and promptly slammed her head against the closest wall, gritting her teeth. She pulled her arm back and banged on it one more time for good measure, before.turning and sliding down the wall. She observed the floor in front of her - a mess of wires and pliers engraved with “HPA SHOP” on the side. She turned her head to the box in the room, one she had snatched from the school store. She was alone, and it wasn’t breakfast time yet. She could finish. She pulled the assorted items out of the box and grabbed the shirt, scarf, planchette, and some scissors that had been haphazardly tossed across the room. She had work to do.
By the time the breakfast announcement came on, she was finished. She surveyed the number of items in front of her before making a decision. She was going to honor them a way she could in this hell hotel. She got dressed, additions being made to her outfit. She tied up one of her buns with Akira’s choker, it holding surprisingly well. She wrapped a strip cut from Artemis’s shirt around her bicep and a cut scarf from Katsumi was tied around her opposite elbow. Kyoji’s jacket was circling her waist, knotted in the front. One of Noriko’s earrings was in her right ear, and Takehiko’s Ouija board planchette had been fashioned into an earring with some wire from the school store. Addy’s goggles were on her head. She took a breath and grabbed her E-Handbook, making her way to the dining room. @shslcartographxr @gameshowfever @headofreservecoursecouncil @cryptographer @linguxst @ultimateglassblower @shsl-thespian @un-luckster

Deciding to get a snack to fuel his thought process, he heads down to the cafeteria at the assigned time. It was blissfully quiet, and he never felt better during his time in the hotel. With his turtleneck sleeves rolled up to his elbows, he skipped to dinner. Sweet, sweet seclusion. He didn't have to worry about other people bothering him or showing up at his room uninvited, he was on a set schedule with set optional social times and he was thriving. Socializing wasn't on his agenda for the hotel anyway, he was set on discovering a way out. Albeit it was hard to do a thorough investigation with his floors restricted, but he worked much better in the hypothetical anyway. Orochi's upbeat greeting would normally be something to make Ryu roll his eyes and give some choice words about how good an evening it could be in a hotel like this, but today he returned the pleasantry in kind. "Oh hell YEAH it is," He says, drifting by to snatch up a burger from the Hotel's pre-prepared foods, "I didn't have to talk to a person in days and I've never felt better," Waving the burger in Orochi's direction, he added a halfhearted, "No offense but you all suck major balls. If Monokuma wanted a REAL motive he'd force me to sit in a room with yall for forever." "Though I guess being stuck in a hotel is equally bad but yknow," He takes a bute to cut off his train of thought. After the quick pause he picks back up, "Was I rambling? My bad. How're you?" @shsl-thespian
