the more i learn about rock stars of the 70s and the 80s the more i realise how fairly normal, genuinly good and mostly unproblematic freddie was in comparison

Lmao that’s what’s funny about people trying to present Freddie as uniquely wild or hedonistic. The man never had an addiction, was sober during interviews and most concerts (Phoebe said he felt he owed the audience his best performance), and did settle down into a stable relationship by his 40s. That can’t be said for a lot of his peers.
