It had been months since you last attended a party with your new significant other. You loved spending time with him, but you were more of a homebody and preferred to stay in for the night. However, he had been begging you for weeks to come with him to this particular party, and you finally gave in.

As soon as you arrived, you could feel your nerves creeping up on you. You scanned the room, looking for familiar faces when suddenly, you saw him. Your ex-lover was standing across the room, staring right at you. You felt a mix of emotions⸻surprise, confusion, and anxiety.

You had both agreed not to speak again after the messy breakup, but now you couldn't help but feel drawn to him. He looked so beautiful, and you couldn't take your eyes off him.

You tried to avoid eye contact, but it was too late. He had already spotted you and was making his way over. You could feel your palms start to sweat as he got closer and closer. When he finally reached you, you found yourself staring blankly into his beautiful eyes. You were flooded with memories of your time together and the emotions that came with them.

But then you remembered why you had ended things in the first place. You and he had agreed not to speak again, and you knew that it was for the best. So you broke eye contact and turned back to your partner, feeling grateful for the person who was standing right beside you.

"Ahh! Oncie!" You were taken aback and slightly shocked. You had no idea that your boyfriend had a relationship with your ex. He had never mentioned him before, at least not in your presence.

Your boyfriend then stepped forward and introduced you to your ex. "This is my girlfriend, y/n." You managed to give a forced smile but said nothing. Once-ler just stared at you with a deadpan look, making you feel uneasy.

Your boyfriend then turned back to Once-ler and continued, "Y/n, this is Greed, a friend I met a while back." You took a deep breath and tried to compose yourself, but you couldn't shake off the feeling of discomfort.

Once-ler finally cracked a smile and spoke in a low tone, "Lovely meeting you, y/n." You nodded in response, still feeling uneasy about the situation. You couldn't help but wonder what kind of relationship your boyfriend and your ex had, and why he had never mentioned him before.

"You two will get along perfectly," your boyfriend said, with a smile on his face. You couldn't help but side-eye him, wondering what he was thinking. "I'll be back with drinks," he added before disappearing into the crowd of people, leaving you and your ex alone.

As you stood there, everything felt so awkward. You were trying your best to make eye contact with him, but every time you did, you quickly turned your head away. You could feel the tension building up between the two of you, and you wondered why your boyfriend thought it was a good idea to leave you alone with your ex.

"Long time no see," he said, breaking the silence. You could see that he was trying to be friendly, but you couldn't help feeling uncomfortable. You tried to make small talk, but it was clear that the conversation wasn't flowing smoothly. You couldn't wait for your boyfriend to return with the drinks and rescue you from the awkward situation.

You whispered under your breath, "We should've kept it that way," hoping he heard you but at the same time, you hoped he didn't. Your heart was pounding in your chest, and you could feel the tension in the air between you and him. A sigh could be heard from him, and he looked down at his shoes, fidgeting with his fingers.

"I'm sorry," he said, almost in a whisper. "I miss you so much. I can't stop thinking about you, Y/N." You felt your heart skip a beat, and your eyes met his gorgeous blue ones. The memories of all the beautiful moments you shared with him came flooding back into your mind.

"I-" You were getting ready to speak, but a sudden realization hit you, making you pause. You remembered you had a boyfriend, someone you loved and would never want to hurt. You took a deep breath and continued, "You've made your bed, and you must lie in it. I don't want to give you another chance." You spoke bluntly, but you hoped it didn't hurt him.

You knew that you had made the right decision. Though it was tough, you knew that you needed to stay true to your commitment to your current relationship. You looked at him for a moment longer, hoping he would understand.

"I still love you," he said, but you knew deep down that your feelings for him had changed. "I don't love you anymore," you retorted, the words heavy on your tongue. You had been holding onto these feelings for a long time and it was finally time to let him know. It was a tough conversation, but it had to be done.

Not long after, your boyfriend approached the two of you holding three cups in his hand with a wide grin. You forced a smile too, just to keep him happy, and Once-ler did the same.

You felt a sense of relief, happy to have a distraction from the heavy conversation that had just taken place. "Let's party, shall we?!" your boyfriend exclaimed eagerly, and you happily agreed.

However, as the night went on, you found it difficult to shake off the words that Once-ler had spoken earlier. You couldn't help but think about the way he looked at you whenever he saw you with your boyfriend, it was so captivating.

You wished things could have been different between the two of you. Now, you were stuck thinking about him every night before you went to sleep, wondering what could have been.
