just a few of the Mortys Rick had before his Evil Mort came along and ruined his whole career.

These three came after Rick’s OG Morty (and also two other Mortys he lost).

C-566: The first Morty on Rick’s new dimension and the beginning of Rick’s experiments revolving around utilizing Mortys as a cloaking device. So basically this poor baby was subjected to a lot of preliminary experimentation before Rick went too far and killed him. It’s great! ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ ... I say, when it’s not great.

C-656: This. Boy is on fiiiREEEE. No, but Pocket Morty–inspired, a Flaming Morty Rick took under his wing when abandoned by a different Rick and left with these “mutations.” Again, used for experiments; Rick was curious to see how a Morty with alterations would do toward his cause. Total brat 10/10 would recommend. Gave Rick hell, thank GOD. Perished in an explosion that also destroyed a lot of Rick’s work at the time, so get dunked on.

C-819: A Morty Rick took on as an “assistant” (back to the sidekick role) to his experiments. C-819 was around at the same time as C-656; except while 656 was being experimented on, 819 was involuntarily helping. 819 persisted after the explosion and continued to be Rick’s main Morty for awhile while Rick began collecting Rickless Mortys for his eventual grid. 819 eventually tried to turn Rick in, but Rick caught him and imprisoned him along with the rest.

Rick swore off taking on another “sidekick Morty” after 819, presuming most would be prone to betraying him.
