This is my first encounter with MILCK, and it made quite the impression. At first, I wasn’t sure if her timbre and inflections connected with me, but this song isn’t about the perfect composure. It’s restless and empowering in its full orchestration. For once, I didn’t prefer the stripped version though it’s good in its own right. Probably with this track still on repeat, I’ll be searching through the rest of MILCK’s catalog tonight.

I first heard Poppy Ackroyd’s “Time” in the playlist Love, Drugs & Lust by Devon Baldwin on Spotify. Devon is a female vocalist whose success I followed from her features on hip hop tracks to solo releases and whose musical tastes mirror mine. So I paid attention to her playlists as well. While I never expected to hear an enrapturing piano instrumental, I shouldn’t be surprised to love it considering from whom it came. But it’s more surprising that I fell in love with the whole Sketches album. Whether you choose to engage emotionally or let it lull you to peace, Time is a must listen. And you might as well let yourself be swept away by the whole album while you’re at it.

If the two singles so far are any indication, The Thrill Of It All is going to be an amazing album. Pray has a sense of grandeur that makes me want to sing it loud. Instead, I’ve been playing it on my Beats and mouthing the lyrics in my room like an idiot. Regardless of my impending embarrassment, I love the direction Sam Smith is taking.

This song released at the perfect time - when I was stuck an the airport on the way to a funeral. I had my phone, noise canceling headphones, and time to kill. Since then, I’ve played the track countless times and it oozes optimism and that feel good motivation to move. Stargazing and This Town are the obvious winners on this EP.

I haven't decided whether I like the reimagined originals on Joseph’s new EP but I definitely love their cover of The Rolling Stones’ track “Moonlight Mile”. I recommend letting the title track play next and then repeat!

Ember Island tracks always have an amazing ethereal quality that speaks to me. I’m used to hearing their covers, but this song, along with Stay and Need You, makes me excited for what originals are next. The most intriguing part is the electronic distortion effect around 1:42. I’d love to know how they did that!

Just saw Christian Lopez open for the country music duo Brothers Osborne at The Paramount. I’d never heard his music before but it’s tough to say which act I liked more. That good! I’ll be on the lookout for his sophomore album later this month.

This collaboration brings a new vibe to Thomston, a little more electronic in my opinion. And like the rest of his songs, I love it. I guess that means I should check out SACHI next!

I’m glad I made it to the last track on Brett Eldredge’s self-titled album because it’s currently my #1. His vocals sound effortless and the soft accompaniment of acoustic guitar and piano provide just the right backdrop. I hope others make it to the end to experience this beautiful song.

It’s a tight competition between this remix and the acoustic version of Sun Comes Up and also rare that a remix flat out beats an original for me, but that’s the case here. Regardless, they all make me want to go listen to some more James Arthur. Probably starting with the track Sober!

This song has so much attitude & I’m in love with it. Best one off the Kaleidoscopes EP without a doubt.

I have no clue what kind of production one does to make the melodic hook in the chorus of this song but I’m in love with it. This whole album deserves a listen. So far the title track is stealing the show for me!

I’ve never said no to a Johnnyswim track :D

I love the original but there is so much depth and magic to this stripped live version of Gorgeous. This is further proof of how talented the X Ambassadors are.

If it makes any sense, this song relaxes me while also evoking sadness. Soothing sustained humming supports the female vocals as well as tastefully placed male harmony. I only wish it didn’t feel like it was over so soon.

Broods is right in the sweet spot of pop and electronic that resonates with me. I can easily see why Heartlines was chosen to be released as a single before the album. The chorus makes me want to sing and the lyrics stick in my head long after the song is finished. I’d go so far as to say it’s my favorite track off of Conscious.

I’m always excited to see a new EZA track. Off The Record has the artist’s characteristic smooth, electronic indie pop sound along with interesting, escapist lyrics. I also love the way that the layers evolve over time. Overall, I hope this single’s release means there is an EP or album to come soon!
