If Simon's glare could throw daggers, your husband probably would be dead. He has seen him a couple of times, but he was unfazed; at least, until Simon started to be interested in you.

Now, he's just pissed. More than usual, he's snarkier, when someone asks him something and he knows technically he doesn't have a good reason to be like that. He's your husband, not Simon. Yet, he tries to be the closest he could be, giving his recruits to Soap to train them (which is odd enough - he loves bullying them).

His voice is cold as ice, when he says "Good morning" to him, and he just gives him the look. Look that implies he isn't welcome here. Never was, never will, not until you two will divorce.

His demeanor changes when he looks at you, and your little smile that you always give him; his heart melts on spot, and he has to clear his throat before he continues to talk to you.

It takes all of his willpower not to rip your husband off you, when he stands next to you with his arm around your waist. Simon simply thinks that man doesn't deserve you, and if he'd be more laid-back, he'd probably say it.

In this case, he just creates imaginary problems, just to be around you more; it always helps that you always pat him in the shoulder, like he was a loyal dog, just by your side.

When your husband visits you again, he does all of those things again. He has to keep eye on him, study him, so he knows how your marriage works. Simon Riley is all about advantages, and he wants to get this one desperately with higher!ranked reader.
