Death note au where L transfers to daikoku academy in undercover to catch kira, and light yagami is not one of his suspects. The reason being this kira is too reckless and relentless, there is no rhyme or reason why they kill, they just do. This also means they leave more trail to where they are, but also puts more pressure to the police since so many people are dying randomly, and the broadcast confrontation L did just solidified the theory this kira is in Japan. Since this kira doesn't really have any connections with the Japanese police they never knew that they've already narrowed it down to kira being a student. With this, they then narrowed it down to daikoku private academy in which L coincidentally becomes classmates with Light. And Light hates him.

(Don't mind this, I just need to draw it first to put it into words, but yeah, this is the idea?)

Light's first impression of him was that he was certainly unique (read: weird). This guy suddenly transfers to the academy when it's the last term of their third year. Sits crouching in his seat and his legs tucked to his chest and starts eating sweets in his table. He doesn't even talk to anyone unless it was to creep or interrogate them, and just looks at other people. He once saw him standing and observing an entirely different section. It was annoying, and he could barely suppress his annoyance to the whole situation. So he ignores the transfer and waits for the teachers to reprimand the transfer themselves. It doesn't take while for the teachers to notice the transfer doing these.

"RYUGA!" the teacher shouts. The transfer pauses with what he was doing. "Can you answer the question from the board?" The transfer barely glances to the board before saying the answer. This doesn't satisfy the teacher however, and asked him random mathematical questions, some which light knows haven't been taught, and the transfer, once again, answers them perfectly.

Light is surprised. And only caught himself staring when he saw ryuga is staring at him back. The teacher moves on and asks light to answer, which he answers correctly. The teacher started complimenting him, and how that's how a student should be. Light just sits down again, and sees ryuga's attention somewhere else. (He doesn't know why, but slightly pissed him off. But he ignores him, better not associate himself with him)..

Is what he would say, if the teachers didn't just unanimously agreed that the transfer needed to be seated near light so that ryuga could learn from him. (Read: let light deal with the transfer, and any to no improvement of his behaviour would be blamed to him instead). So he tries to talk to ryuga, only to be met with short or cut out answers and sarcasm.

But then the open debate happened. With the news about kira, a mass murderer with no morals or reason, the philosophy teacher decided it would be a great topic to debate on. Which L was on the side of kira and light against kira. (Idk, maybe they argue the world is too overpopulated and lacking resources to provide for basic needs, and something about programs and also murder shouldn't be the solution and the fact that lives are being killed for no reason) and after the debate (which lasted the whole time for the subject, the debate ended in a draw and none of the teams are happy) light became intrigued with ryuga. He made points he could barely argue with, without directing it to another topic, and how he manages to sometimes take over the conversation by twisting his words to something else. Light is annoyed. And intrigued. But before he could even congratulate him, he just ignores him and walks over to the other section!

(Lmao, I just imagine light fascinated but also hates L, but gets jealous because he seems more fascinated with the other people in other sections. While L ignores light because, although he is also as fascinated with him, he's not a priority considering he needs to catch kira).

Death note au where original light just gets transmigrated to the death note musical, the only problem is, he doesn't know how to sing or th lyrics for that matter. So everytime a music just plays he just stands there confused while everyone is staring at him to sing, I don't know, where is the justice. At first he just ignores it thinking that it may have been a prank by the class. Then he finds the death note, and the music plays again (change the world). Looks around to see if anyone was singing. No one is. What?

Imagine when he meets L and he reveals that He's L. Light hears the music, and he groans. Like what is he suppose to say, he can't say shit, so he just smiles at L and waits for him to finish his speech (which was fast). And then goes to the podium to do his speech and he hears L just singing his part, loudly. While light is doing HIS speech. Yeah sure, just sing your thoughts why don't you? Reveal to the whole world you're L? So light just hates him.

(And then misa just barges in out of nowhere to sing about making a song with hidden clues to meet kira and light just thinks. Yeah, no, I'm not gonna do that. Because he thinks L heard her, but apparently everyone has selective hearing so--)

This reminds me of guy who didn't like musicals, except Light has parts there, he just doesn't know how the lyrics or how to sing it. So he just stands there. 🧍‍♂️

Just a lil continuation for this death note au. It ended with (not kira) light facing (musical) L with a gun pointed to him. Light still disoriented after dying and waking up here stumbles and catches the railing to stabilize himself.

'Where am I? I, just died right? What am I doing here?' He thinks. Thinking is better, understanding what is happening is BETTER, than remembering how he died in his last moments. He tries to even his breathing and look around. 'I'm... in a warehouse. It looks like its about midnight. I'm not wearing the same clothes as-- i'm at the second floor.'

L just stares at him wary of his movements. He finally looks back at L and flinches at the gun pointed at him. Terrified, he backs away.

"...L?" Light hesitantly mutters. L doesn't seemed fazed, and replies

"Kira" Light suppresses a flinch at the name. He Gripped on the railings tighter. L noticed and tries to pressure him into confessing to being kira.

"I'm not" Light snaps back at him, glaring. How does every other version of L manages to piss him off? L tilts his head, the way he knows would unnerve most people and stares at him. "Light is the only possible suspect of being kira, or has connection with kira as given that you are in a relationship with the second"

"So, I'm just a possible suspect? How is that enough evidence for you to come here and kill me!? This doesn't sound like something you'll do!" It really isnt. Because if L suspects someone he would have them monitored, stalked, or interrogated (Possibly illegally)- not kill them! Is it possible that this L is just different? If not then-- light warily glances at L. His expression looks determined but, also confused. Is it possible that--

"L," Light starts, concerned tone seeping through his words "this isn't something you would do right?"

"What do you mean, Light-kun?"

"I mean, if you do suspect me, or if I am kira. Then you wouldn't kill them yourself, you would gather evidence, no matter how impossible, to condemn them to a death sentence. Because you think it's fun but this-" he waves at the gun pointed at him "isn't." Realization strikes L as he tries to lower the gun but shoots light's leg instead. Light screams and falls in pain, he crashes to the ground in a loud thud. He looks back to L, who also wore a horrified expression.

"Light-kun!" L rushes to his side, the gun momentarily casted aside as he assesses the wound. He takes off his coat and uses it as a makeshift bandage cloth to slow down the bleeding. Light sucks a breath and bites down on his lip trying to not let out a whimper. He tries to distract himself from the pain and his eyes zeroes on the coat.

"That-" Light struggles to start "-is the most horried coat I've ever seen." L's lips turned upward for a brief moment. Light noticed and continues. "Seriously, I knew your tastes were horrible considering you only eat sweets everyday, but I didn't know your fashion sense was also"

"Light-kun is being mean, the possibility of him being kira is rising"

"You shot me!"

The pain didn't subside, but he noticed a black notebook on his jacket. He takes it out and L curiously looks at him and reads the cover, 'Death note'?

Anyways, Light flips through the pages when he realizes that there's a possibility that L is really being controlled. But, his name wasn't there. And then he hears another voice.

"Oi, lighto!" He looks around and above the warehouse is a--

"Shinigami...!" L's eyes widen and his gun is on his hands again, pointed at light as he looks around.

L was able to get the notebook from lights hands with the gun trained at him, and he was greeted by ryuk. Whatever moment they both had before was gone, and L looks at him with suspicion. Ryuk was the one to spill everything and what this light had planned. L glares at light and spats out "I see" unmoving to the clueless and frustrated expression light wore, he stands up- light's eyes widen-

And points the gun to his own head.

Light struggles to stand up and tries to convince him to stop it, but L doesn't answer him or moves. Light grows more worried and desperate that he tries to pry the gun from his hand before the time- he does manage to get the gun away from L's head. And gets shot instead. This time the bullet shot to a vital organ and he sways and falls again, but this time L catches him.

L questions him, why. Light doesn't know what to say. Because he saw him die once and it ruined him? Because he's innocent? He doesn't deserve to die. He remembers what his L once said and--

"Because, you're my friend, L" If L said anything else he couldn't hear it with the constant ringing of bell in his head growing louder.

Until it stops.

And he wakes up again.

Death note au (dimension travel) where ryuk never got interested in the human world therefore there is no kira. And lawlight had this coworkers to frenemies (and possibly lovers) tension that their coworkers just loaths. After they worked on a case (that seemed to work on the supernatural and drove both of them insane trying to get evidence on) and finally caught the criminal which light apprehended. The criminal curses light to become the worst criminal there is and of course, Light ignores it and goes home to sleep. Only, maybe he shouldn't have because now he keeps waking up in various places (or universe?) Where he has to keep saving L from dying because of him. But in doing so, he also dies either from a heart attack or gets executed to death by L. His only way out would be to either find the criminal from the universe that cursed him, or become 'kira' a mass murderer that is apparently him.

They finally caught him. A criminal that has been going around for months that either commits the most complicated murder or petty crimes, without leaving a trace! Which shouldn't be possible, for months both L and light tried to catch that guy but he somehow gets away! That at one point, while L and light were arguing how, L just throws the theory of supernatural and denies it by saying 'we can figure it out once we catch him'. And they do catch him. Light apprehended the guy before he does what ever he was going to do. The guys glare was venomous. And while being dragged to the police car with his hands behind him, he glares at light and curses him to become the worst criminal the world has ever seen.

Light ignores this and just sighs tiredly. He comes back to the head quarters and makes his way to L, who has been waiting for him with a blank face. 'He's mad' light thought and slows his steps. L congratulates him for catching the guy but also mentions how reckless it was for light-kun to work alone and go against the plan. Light immediately defends himself saying he was getting away and he had to do it. L stares at him and says that he doesn't need to put himself in danger like that, especially when the criminal is unpredictable. Light scoffs.

"Careful L, you sound like you care about me."

"I do."

That made light speechless.

"Afterall, Light-kun is my first friend."

"... oh"

Light excuses himself, mentions how he was tired and rushes out. L stares back to his monitor and plays back recordings of the criminal.

Light makes it to his home and settles down. He forgot about the mentioned curse and just thinks about his conversation with L. To him, L was both admirable and an asshole. Light finds himself fascinated whenever L speaks about his theories and findings, only for the moment to shatter everytime L tries to single him out.

'Afterall, Light-kun is my first friend."

Light shakes his head and dismisses thought. 'Yeah right'. He lays down and closes his eyes. Yeah, he just needs to rest, no need to think about L, considering that man is a manipulative liar.

But then he wakes up. Disoriented and catches himself before he falls down (falls down? Why is he standing?) He hears the sound of rushing rain and immediately becomes confused. 'Where is he?' He looks around, it seems to be a rooftop and in front of him was, L. Huh? What was he doing there? L is looking up. There's a sense of melancholy around the place that causes lights heart to stutter. And looking at L's expression his heart might've as well paused. The benefit of working with L for years had been that light was confident that he could easily read L's expression and posture and know what he's thinking. He's never seen L like this. Like he has already lost. Like he had given up, and waiting to his death. Light feels a sinking worry grow to his heart and calls out to him, asking him what he was doing there? When it became evident that L couldn't hear him, he walks to him, using his hand as a cover though it doesn't seem to stop the rain from going to his face.

Light asks him again and L mentions hearing a bell. The bell has been ringing non stop lately, can he hear it? Light shakes his head, and says he doesn't. Really? He wonders whether it was a church, maybe a wedding or perhaps... L pauses. Light is getting frustrated (he ignores the feeling of anxiousness or worry) and asks L what he's getting at, he should cut it out and they should go inside (because this isn't- this isn't a look that should be on L. This is not like him). L looks down and apologizes, and light's anxiousness grows even more evident in his face. "Nothing I say makes any sense anyway"

Light doesn't like it. He doesn't like the downcast expression plastered on L's face. His heart is slowly sinking down, and he fixes his expression into an amused one. If there's one thing light yagami knows, it's to frustrate L just as much as he frustrates him. So he agrees, and remarks how if he takes anything L says seriously there would not end his trouble. The words that would've been genuine at any other time feels like Ash to his tongue. He silently pleads, any expression on L's face would've been better than the one he is wearing right now. L stares at him,

"Tell me light, from the moment you were born. Has there ever been a point where you've actually told the truth?"

Light's heart skips a beat. L's face looks determined and accusing that it frustrates and confuses light even more. He couldn't take this anymore and is just confused why L is acting like this (like he's a criminal that should be arrested). And he couldn't take it anymore. He sighs angrily, and ruffles his head. A frustrated expression morphs to his face and he glares at L.

"What are you talking about L? Are you still mad about the case? I did what I had to do! I just-" light looks down, not catching the confused stare L gives him and stubbornly mutters

"I'm... sorry okay? I'll listen to you this time alright? Just-" don't make that face. Don't make that expression.

He doesnt continue and let's the silence fill the conversation. Before he hears a sneeze, which he drags L back to the building.

They both dry themselves off with a towel. Now that light is sitting down on the stairs, he thinks more about his situation right now. And realizes some things. He doesn't recognize this place and that what he's wearing right now is different from when he slept at his place. Those thoughts were interrupted by L apologising again, and crouching to his feet, towel in hand. L offers to dry his feet off, which light begrudgingly agrees to. Again, L looks like he's showing weakness which light resents.

"It'll be lonely, wouldn't it?"

Light resents him even more. And before L could say anything else, Light grips on his collar, until they are close to each other and seethes. He yells at L, what's wrong with him. Why is he acting like this? He couldn't control his expression before it morphs into worry and anxiousness. "You know you can talk to me about it right?" L stares at him. His face hardens, and light could see that he doesn't believe him even for a second.

'Just... why? What happened?'

His expression pleads for L to answer. To say anything. But L just stares at him, before his expression goes back to it again.

Light silently follows him. He would never admit it, but he's worried okay? This guy literally just told him he was his 'first' friend yesterday, and now he's acting weird. (And also it becomes apparent to him that this might not be a dream, to his frustration, and since he doesn't know where to go he mostly follows to not get lost).

They're at the monitor room and the task force greets them, some looking at a space warily. Light couldn't help but feel at awe with how different this place was and although he recognizes some people in there He's confused why there's only a few officers here. And soon, L announces his plan on testing the death note (death note?). The officers and his father were protesting which L dismisses. And then an alarm rings, L looks up at one of the monitors worryingly, as the data deletion happens. The officers panics and looks for the 'shinigami' which confuses light to also look around and looks back at L.

His eyes widen as L froze in shock, dropping the spoon from his hand before swaying and collapses. Light, catching his frozen expression, rushes and jumps to catch him before his body hit the floor. Light felt his heart stop as he looks at L, He's not dying-- is he? Light's face finally cracks as his face morphs to what he's feeling. From anxious, to horror, to worry. He tries to shake L, to stay with them, and shuffles for his phone. He can't find it, where is it!? He looks to the task force and shouts for them to call for help- an ambulance- fucking ANYTHING!

He doesnt get to see L's expression, his confusion and his sorrow. Even at the very end he didn't get the confirmation that light is kira. How cruel.

Light decided that he wants to get revenge. When they ask him to become the next L, he says yes. After all, he can't let who killed L know he's dead and also to proceed testing the death note. Light shut down every or any protest against the idea. This might not be his universe, but he would make sure that this criminal faces his deserved justice. After countless of sleepless nights (with all the data deleted he has to start from scratch. But it doesn't matter, he's confident in his skills) he gathers any and every information about kira from news articles, to his methods, to the theories. (He ignores the sinking feeling that the ideals of kira seems to align with his morals). And before he knows it, 13 days had passed after the prisoners used the death note.

They did not die.

And after the rule were discovered to be fake. Light and misa were arrested and before he knows it, he's already about to be executed. With his and misa's name and face plastered on every news media, even if they escaped or proven to be innocent. They would be damned by the public. He thinks about L in his last moments, and tries to process what is happening.

'It'll be lonely, wouldn't it?'

He sees a familiar figure at his execution. That man is--

He wakes up again. A phantom feeling of the pain he felt from the execution. And face to face with L pointing a gun to his direction.

Light shut down every or any protest against the idea. This might not be his universe, but he would make sure that this criminal faces his deserved justice. After countless of sleepless nights (with all the data deleted he has to start from scratch. But it doesn't matter, he's confident in his skills) he gathers any and every information about kira from news articles, to his methods, to the theories. (He ignores the sinking feeling that the ideals of kira seems to align with his morals). And before he knows it, 13 days had passed after the prisoners used the death note.

They did not die.

And after the rule were discovered to be fake. Light and misa were arrested and before he knows it, he's already about to be executed. With his and misa's name and face plastered on every news media, even if they escaped or proven to be innocent. They would be damned by the public. He thinks about L in his last moments, and tries to process what is happening.

'It'll be lonely, wouldn't it?'

He sees a familiar figure at his execution. That man is--

He wakes up again. A phantom feeling of the pain he felt from the execution. And face to face with L pointing a gun to his direction.

This death note au has been in my mind because I've been thinking (again) where is the original L if he did switch places with musical!L because the sky scraper hadn't been made 😔.

What if he woke up from the warehouse where musical L died. And beside him is a 'very much' dead musical! Light. And gets arrested after a concerned citizen heard a gun shot and screaming in the warehouse.

When original L woke up after dying from a heart attack. He never expected that the first thing that happens would be to get arrested as a suspect for shooting a teenager in a warehouse. He shuffles, the metal benches clearly uncomfortable to his feet and contemplates how he got here.

He remembers his shirt clinging to his body as he stands in the rain. He remembers the sound of church bells ringing faintly in the distance. And light talking to him- no. The moment light had touched the notebook, he was kira. He remembers, the data deletion. He remembers warning everyone, before being cut off by his heart stopping. Light rushing to his side as he collapses to the floor. And his last moments were staring at the malicious grin that's plastered to lights face. He hears the bells again, louder this time. And closes his eyes, with the knowledge that he was right.

Light Yagami is kira.

But at the sound of his heart beating again. He wakes and sits up. Clutching his heart as he panics that its still beating. Disoriented at the noise of people rushing in the warehouse. Wait- a warehouse. He could barely understand what was being said to him, and he zeroes to the body next to him and freezes. Its a young man shot and bleeding, but it doesn't look like it's the cause of his death. Shock, perhaps? Or a heart attac--

He wasn't able to finish that thought as he was jostled harshly by a police(?) Officer and handcuffed his hands behind him. He heard faint sound of radio, but he doesn't mind that as he looks around and wonders where he is. He was forced to the police car and he kept quiet, Until he gets to the interrogation room.

He gets interrogated, what's his name, how old he was, he answered them calmly before one of the officers asks "what's your relation with the victim?" Which he answers that he doesn't know him. "Did you know that the victim was light yagami?" That made him pause, and looks at both officers tells if they're lying. They weren't. And he was even more confused. Because that young man did NOT look like light yagami. At all. He sits there quietly again, refusing and displaying an expression of disinterest to contemplate more in this revelation.

Eventually they both gave up, and just put him in one of the prisons. And that's where he is right now. Planning on how to get out of here and prove his innocence (somehow).

(And now original L has to somehow prove his innocence that no, he did not kill 'light yagami' nor did he shoot him. Nor is he kira because the kira killings stopped after he got imprisoned. And I dunno continue his life as "L". But he somehow doubts that watari would believe him to be L. If the appearance of light yagami or soichiro yagami were any indication, the appearance of the L of this world would also be different).

Death note au (dimension travel) where the original L and Musical L who were suppose to be dead, at their respective universes, wakes up to an alternate reality where everything is the same yet slightly different. If only their counter parts also had the same appearance, it would've been easier for them to navigate this reality.

Musical L wakes up in the abandoned warehouse that is both familiar yet different. But he doesn't mind that because he feels disoriented after he shot himself (isn't he suppose to be dead?). He could still remember the way his heart was beating, the tremor in his hands as it shooks in (was it fear?) Trying to gain control. Yet it didn't change (did he have any control in his actions?) As it steadily turns the gun to his head. His voice, though nonchalant, didn't waver as he spoke his last words. And the last thing he saw was the ceiling of the warehouse- similar to what he is looking at right now. He sits up, and feels a puddle (his blood?) In his fingers and slowly he stands up.

Where is he? He didn't know. Although the warehouse looked similar it somehow looked- older. He reaches for his phone and dials a number. After a few rings, it didn't pick up. A heavy unsettling feeling turns to his stomach as he shoves the phone back to his coat. There's a possibility that watari is dead. (But how? Did Light somehow learnt watari's name? Or did he mention to the other shinigami to kill them both?) He slowly walked towards the heavy metal doors. He knows that kira is light yagami, (why am I not dead?) And he'll be damned if he still wasn't able to put him down to his execution.

Lmao, honestly this idea only came to me when I just imagined musical L, walking down the streets covered in blood and gathers attention of concerned citizens gets arrested.

And when they interrogated him and asks for his name he's like "ryuga hideki" and the police doesn't believe him until he asks them to verify his identity through calling to-oh. (Dunno if u can do that but uhhh it happens here) and when the police gave a description of L they're like "Oh yeah that's our student, top ranker ryuga hideki" and the police started to take him seriously now and he makes up a story about waking up and possibly getting kidnapped in a warehouse.

And now he discovers that he doesn't look like the "L" of this world. It's a good thing that the L from this world managed to also get into to-oh and still have his identity hidden. But as he tries to manage surviving alone (without watari) he notices that the date is different from when he died (time travel?) And there were news about Yotsuba and a vice president(?) Higuchi getting cornered by the police and dying from a heart attack (is it kira?).

And eventually, after a week, he concluded that this might have been an alternate universe or a different world where both L and kira still existed. Considering that the task force and light yagami looked different from his world. He's sitting on the floor of the hotel he managed to get to stay in with computers around him and delved further to notice the huge amount of criminals killed. Two of them were criminals he knew of, Thierry Morello a con artist and Merrie Kenwood a thief, both which worked under L. He puts his finger on his lip, thinking. The most concerning yet, was that the L of this world wasn't doing anything.

That made him conclude that either the L of this world was different from him (he wasn't, if the data wasn't wrong the methods he tried were the same to bait kira out) or L of this world was dead.

And he had been replaced by an impostor.

(And now he has to both try find evidence to damn kira and hide from the second L which he thinks is also kira).

Death note au where its Yotsuba arc. After hitting a wall in the investigation, Light decided to search up kira again in the Internet and sees a fic of L x Kira. Reads it and immediately regrets it. Not only did it not help with the investigation, but he also had to witness the stuttering, the possessiveness, the conflicts that come out of nowhere. At one point he closed the laptop and just covered his face letting out the most guttural groan in existence. L notices this and looks at him curiously. L asks him what happened and light just says nothing and don't be curious about it.

But he does become curious about it. After Light falls asleep, he opens his laptop and looks at the history browser, clicking at the first website exited on. It continues on a paragraph from the website.

The rain was pouring down. They both stood on the other side, L clutching the gun pointed to his friend, no is he even a friend at this point? When tanka lied--

'Who's tanka?'

-- about not being kira? When he posed as his friend when in actuality has been killing off the Japanese police. He tightens his grip and glares at kira.

"Is this what you wanted? To isolate me by manipulating the police into losing their trust to me? And then what? Humiliate me, tanka mahiru?"

Tanka, no, kira smirks. And then laughs. He laughs an evil laugh. His eyes were wide and possessive as he clutches on the wound on his shoulder. Smirking.

"That's right L! And they all didn't deserve you! You're mine! And mine alone! I will kill them if They get in our way-"

L pauses and closes the laptop too. Maybe some things are just left to not be seen.

(He definitely teases light about it, calling him tanka mahiru. And light just wishes that, if he becomes kira L would be on top of his hit list).

Welp, this death note au has been living in my head rent free and I wondered. Damn, where is the original light in this au? He switched with the L that is suppose to die and wakes up to these people screaming 'shinigami' and 'L' and huh? Where is he?

(Just imagine the black circle says suspicious or something lmao)

Couldn't think much about this but here are some ideas of how I think this interaction between both lights lmfao.

He would probably try to act on default of how a confused person waking up somewhere else would act. And think about who, where, what and why he is there. Before getting tackled to a hug by... himself?? And he's calling him L.

Alright, it's something like this. But now that I look to it, this looks like something L and light would do even without body switching lmfao.

I just truly believe that past light, despite being a good actor, would have a hard time acting as L. Mainly because he doesn't know who or how L acts. If he observed himself, he would have a good character description of L but his mask is being a perfect and normal student not what L has. So, i'm thinking he waits it out and observe how others act around him, seek answers if he sees that his actions confuse others and if confronted, would play the amnesia game or having a heart attack made me had a change of heart kind of deal.

This would put him in a dilemma since future light wants to kill him and replace him as L, and although he can tell the other light he knows how distrustful he can be and could also lead to his death.

Yeah that's about it, haha, might add some if I had other ideas for this au again.

He needs to do something about this, and if he's still alive, he would be able to test the death note and put both kiras to prison but... he looks around and sees that he's no longer in HQ. The place is famili-- this is light's room. And then he just hears ryuk trying to communicate with him, and in shock falls down, before looking at ryuk again, his eyes twinkles. I just remember L in disbelief whispers '... another shinigami' that was totally audible to the wiretaps alright.

(But I never dreamt of what L, soichiro and watari'a reaction was. If I were to guess it would be similar with the response video by misa.)

He composes himself, and thinks, ryuk laughs at his reaction, but seemingly more amused with what's above his head with the way he had been staring at it. He looks down again and sees different clothing, it seemed right but also wrong. That's when he realizes, this is not his body. When Light (L) was about to ask ryuk questions, he shuts his mouth again. As he felt that he was being watched. A realisation dawns to him.

He's currently light yagami, and at the time the yagami household is under survelliance.

And now L has to struggle trying to act as light, which he does terribly, and avoid dying again, and as kira at that.

I don't remember much, I just remember like these snippets of him being scolded by schizo everytime he slouched, puts his feet on the chair, or does his staring. That when he gets scolded his eyes down turns and if his face weren't emotionless, it would look like he's pouting.

The thing is, L is a great liar but not as much as an actor. Or when it comes to controlling his facial features, to make a comforting smile, an earnest chuckle or make a worried look. He often just defaults to blank. (This is a head Canon if I'm wrong lmfao I have to finished the anime help).

I dunno if he was able to actually pull it off, but what I DO remember is that HE FOUND OUT ABOUT THE POTATO CHIP.

Death note au but its just the original light switching places with the parody love note light after he tripped on air. The worst part is that, the yagami household is currently being surveillance and now L is confused with how Light is acting.

I just watched love note, parody of death note and light yagami from love note was so innocent 😭 he's both smart, cause he's a valedictorian, and also not, because he struggled with pronouncing death and misunderstood it as someone's name.

This is how I imagined it. The original light comes back home and notices that there aren't any people in the house. He opens the lock and goes to his room and notices that his tell if someone went in his room were all triggered. So in turn he avoids talking to ryuk and lays down on his bed. Ryuk tries to talk to him, but after not getting a response, he gets annoyed. Light tries to get up but then seemingly tripped on air (ryuks fault) and bashes his head on the floor.

This gets the attention of watari, L and Soichiro and they waited for a few moments and light seems to not be moving. Worried, soichiro gets up to immediately call the ambulance but was stopped by L who notices light moving, groaning and gets himself up. After Light finally seems to recollect himself and notices the blood, he screams and panics. And goes downstairs or to the bathroom to get a first aid kit. After bandaging up his banged up head poorly he sighs in relief and says "phew, that could have gone worse. I'm really glad that I didn't hurt myself too much from falling, who knew the floors were slippery!" And smiles before skipping to his room and opening a porn book lmfao.

(I just imagine that L would be thrown off because this does not check out his profile for kira. Since light yagami seems... childish. But I would imagine that love note light might slip up about panic because he can't see his diary (death note) anymore and he has a SISTER?? uhhhh okay.)

Back to love note, similar things happen, Ln! Light trips on air, not because of ryuk- the floors is just that slippery! He forgot he just waxed the floors before he went out! And gets his head bashed onto the floor. Again, love note watari, L and soichiro saw it. And L was like "uhh... case solved?" Of course, watari disagrees and urges soichiro to call an ambulance.

(Im debating whether or not watari actually calls the ambulance after soichiro and L argue again and Light is sent to the hospital. OR watari notices him moving and stops their arguing to look at the cameras)

Og! Light finally wakes up and almost glares at ryuk before remembering the cameras. He just sighs and complains about how he the floors are really.... slippery. And walks casually to the bathroom where he bandages himself. He goes back to his room and lays down, and ignores ryuk, it seems that the god of death is spouting nonsense about puppies and him getting mad for him throwing them to a wall. That's when he hears a knock and its... a Russian accent? From his sister? Now that's suspicious. What are you planning, L?

Death note au idea where light just keeps time travelling back at random timelines and now he has to figure out how to get out of the loop(?) Before he goes insane.

Like the first time it happens, after he dies at the staircase, he wakes up and its the day he got the death note. At first he was confused and terrified, but still decides to use the death note since he believes that this might be a second chance for him. Now he plans to do it much more carefully. He was able to throw off L so many times by avoiding to make the mistakes, the slip ups, that he did on the previous timeline. The game of out witting each other. But he was caught again because he let raye penber and naomi misora live. He dies and wakes up again but at his classroom.

He wakes up disoriented, after all he got shot again but not by matsuda but by his father. He remembers the death note, looks around and doesn't see it fall. He thinks that maybe it's not the date yet when the death note falls. But when he hears the news about the killings. The heart attacks and thinks that someone else now has the death note and they're not just killing criminals but also innocent people. Eventually he teams up with L, to catch kira. They bond, often throwing theories at each other and fighting. Although, he slips up and mentions something that makes him look suspicious, L starts to get suspicious of him. I'm thinking he either gets executed or he dies because of the other kira.

Then he wakes up, and he's behind the prison bars, looking around he eventually realizes that he's at the time where he asked to be confined. He hears the speaker open, and it's L, asking him if he's alright. He glares at the camera, almost snarling before stopping himself. This isn't the L from the previous timeline. If he is kira in this timeline he doesn't want to dig his grave even further. He hears ryuk complaining and moaning about being bored and also apples. Should he risk it? He doesn't know if when he gives up the death note would he still remember the previous timelines but he doesn't, he might convict himself of being kira.

(Alright, my brain is fried, I have no clue how to continue this. But if u get the idea its probably a slow burn lawlight (or not?) Where after looping from different timelines, he slowly becomes crazy and for some reason L, despite not knowing about the looping, is the one that keeps him sane. The one that somehow changes their actions. Not predictable. That when he goes back from the timeline where he's dead, he couldn't even enjoy it. Even after beating near at his own game, he couldn't enjoy it. That's why when he goes back to the timeline where light stops mid speech of explaining the connection of kira killings to yotsuba, he just stares at L. In disbelief, and without hesitation, hugs him or something. )
