"Louis' afraid of his vampirism and Lestat's afraid of his humanity. That's why they work or they will, that's why they complete each other, that's why they need each other, that's why they'll always hate each other and that's why they'll always be desperately in love with each other."

louis: claudia i'm cold :( claudia european blood tastes bad :( claudia i miss my silk pajamas and my comfy luxury coffin :( are you still mad that i forgave lestat
claudia, mentally reciting every homophobic slur she knows inside her mind in alphabetical order:
the parallel of the vision of lestat, being a projection of louis’ subconscious, asking louis if claudia was worth killing him and louis forcefully replying that yes she was, while the vision is skeptical and continues to torment him with the doubt, and then louis forcefully telling claudia that if she were the last vampire on earth it would be enough, while trying and failing to ignore the lestat vision that his subconscious has once again conjured up,,, like that’s insane, both times he’s trying to convince himself that his abusive ex doesn’t matter to him more than his own daughter.. and he’s failing! someone stage an intervention for this man it’s so serious
