Hai there, im a new user here. Just an amateur artist and role player into anime and tabletops RPG, especially RWBY and DnD. Occasionally i draw portraits of my characters, or of other people’s as gifts. Normally i post them on Deviantart, but some friends have recommended i try posting them on Tumblr too. 

Sooo… yeah, this is kinda testing the waters. Here’s a thing i made a while ago, one of my RWBY OCs i use for RP purposes. Hope you guys like her, and i look forward to posting more artwork on here~ :)

Lamia Reiner, 18 year old snake faunus and martial arts prodigy living in Mistral. Rude, confident and short tempered, she often goes around picking fights with anyone that seems strong enough to put up a nice challenge. She carries only a simple knife with Fire Dust as her weapon, but prefers hand to hand combat with her semblance instead: Crystallized skin, hard enough to act as natural armour and makes her attacks more solid and powerful. As a girl, she was orphaned at age 10 and lived in the streets of Mistral city with her little brother, Basilisk. The local gangsters realized her semblance quickly and threatened her into becoming a living crystal factory for them, which could be sold as fake diamonds. Humiliated and hating every moment of this, Lamia was driven to train in martial arts and grow stronger, eventually growing tough enough to fight for her freedom and Basilisk’s. After her escape, she joined a mercenary group known as ANGEL, where her fighting skills were put to good use wherever her employers ask. Her faunus trait are snake eyes, reticulated python specifically. They glow an eerie yellow, and the pupils are thin and sharp. Her first name is derived from cantonese “lam” 蓝, meaning blue. Lamia are also snake demons from old European mythology. Her last name is a reference to Attack on Titan’s Reiner Braun, the armoured titan, who partially inspired her semblance, though its really more similar to Annie Leonhart from the same series.
