A little update

Hi guys -

I know I haven't been active lately. You guys have a lot of questions about the discord server and my blog in general, and I see a lot of your asks and dms about it so I guess I'll just give it a go as my last hurrah (probably) as dickiesgrayson here on tumblr!

First, I'm no longer part of the discord server. There's no bad blood or drama about this. From the get-go, I had no idea what to do with a discord server and some people reached out to help me who took up nearly all of the work in terms of running it and maintaining it. I was rarely active there too because I was primarily on here and on Tumblr. They didn't remove me as an admin until I asked, probably because I created it and my posts enticed more people to join the server. As of the moment, I have no invite link to the server except for the ones I've already posted on my blog posts. I'll try to see if I can get one and update this post with it, but as of the moment, I have no idea how the server is going and I can't send you guys updated links. I'm really sorry.

Second, a short life update! I'm not sure how many of you are invested in my personal life but you guys have always been so incredibly kind to me, and despite the traction that some of my posts have had, I have rarely received any form of hate, and I am incredibly grateful for that. I still love the Bat-family for all that it is, and I'm very much engaged with my mutuals on Twitter on my private account. I did deactivate my public account for plenty of reasons, but while I still technically have one now, I don't use as much and mainly kept it because I'm very attached to my username.

As much as I loved DC, my interest in it faltered and I was unmotivated to really do my regular posts (aside from the fact that the apps I used are practically gone from the App Store too and I had gotten a new phone). I never expected to be a DC blog. I had one funny thought about Bruce not knowing how to do his laundry, posted about it here through a social media AU, and suddenly it gained so much popularity overnight that I was motivated to make posts like that more and more. Suddenly I was part of a really fun and wonderful community, and I'll always have fond memories of when all of you were sending me proposals after I accidentally blogged about wanting a partner. Still makes me smile to this day.

Anyway, between the time I started this blog and now, I want you guys to know I graduated from my Bachelor's degree as Magna Cum Laude, and I'm currently preparing to move to a different country in a few weeks because I'll be pursuing my Master's degree abroad. I posted about it a few times, and each time I've gotten really great advice from you guys! I guess they all worked because part of why I'm writing this is because everything is starting to feel like a good-bye, and I wanted to write a proper one on this blog which brought me so much happiness.

Anyway, that's pretty much it! Thank you guys for such a wonderful journey, and you guys helped get me here. I wish you guys so much happiness.

hey adults of tumblr, is living alone as lonely as i think it is? ive lived away from home since i was 15 but ive never really lived alone, and this will be my first time. is it as bad as my brain is making it out to be? do you have tips to make living alone a little easier?

If you're going to be in shared housing, leave something for everyone to share. When I moved into student housing I baked brownies and put them in the shared kitchen with a note saying for everyone to help themselves. If you can't bake, I'd recommend buying some sweets

i think i'll be staying in shared housing for maybe a month, but i will definitely get my own apartment near my university! afaik it'll be very difficult to secure an apartmeny outside of japan so the month will just be for temporary accomodation while i go apartment-hunting! but i'll definitely bring treats and sweets for when i stay there for a bit!

Are taking Bonbon with you?

i forget that people know my dog's name! but no, unfortunately i don't think i could bring my dog with me. getting settled in a new country is terrifying on its own, and having the added stress of finding pet-friendly accomodations for two dogs will make it twice as hard, and i don't think i could handle it. she and her brother, popcorn, will be staying with my parents where they will receive full-time care! if i decide to stay in japan long-term, i'll probably bring them with me then!

hello, everybody! i know i'm not really active on here anymore, but this is my biggest platform right now, and i just wanted to tell you guys that there's a good chance that i'm moving to japan in a couple of months! i just got accepted by a university, and i'm currently waiting on my scholarship approval.

so if any of you have lived in japan before, especially within shiga prefecture, please reach out! i would absolutely love to have someone to talk to and ask a bit of advice from. generally, if you have any experience with moving countries alone, i would love to hear any advice you have for me.

i am the first in my family to really move away from home, so this is very brand new to me. any advice would be life-saving. that's all!!! thank you guys <3
