so, recently our D&D game started using a little live reaction code for character emotes (really cute idea, tbh!!), but OF COURSE this means there must be a set of.....

thats not a “zine” that is an “art book” and you are scaring the hoes (discouraging people from zinemaking by associating it with hefty sleek professionalism instead of extremely diy no resources low cost artistic communication) by mixing up these words

re computer lab game, there are one or more anonymous askers sending questions about late game stuff i don't want to answer directly due to spoilers but if you sent an anon recently your answer is one of the following:
1: that's because you are on NG+ 30. those buttons don't appear in initial runs. (they appear at ng+ 1 and ng+ 10)
2: yes, it's meant to encourage automation. you could outpace it by manually clicking but don't give yourself cts over it
3: "GOD" of course
4: it's probably easier than you think. first round testing the goal was 1000 and that was doable but seemed too intimidating

computer lab game 2.0 is out
this is the last scheduled update for computer lab game.
thanks to everyone who has played and shared it so far! If you've enjoyed it, consider supporting more development on other projects using the links above - and if you can't help out financially, following me here and sharing the projects is still helping.
update notes:
added hovertext for all upgrades
reduced wasted ui space
optimized mobile layout
corrected a bug that could allow a corrupted save to load, resulting in nonsense
balance tweaks, mostly to new game +
added a special reward for hardcore gamers . . .
hey look, i made a browser game you can play for free

How did you achieve the retro computer terminal look? I've been trying to perfect it and your rendition looks so, so good.
Thanks, it's all done with CSS which you can inspect if you want to see some details, but off the top of my head I think the secret sauce is two things:
1: The background isn't black.
In real life, CRTs actually do have great contrast and produce deep blacks, but there is also a lot of ambient glare compared to most flatscreens so in an environment like a computer lab it never felt like the black was all the way dark. The vignette effect feels more true, to me.
2: Halation.
Everything is using box-shadow with a light color to evoke the halation of one of these displays.
(this is of course referring to my computer lab game available now for free in the browser you're looking at right now)
