What a whacky little season. Maybe it was the way they released the episodes but if I can be desperately honest with you gay people this season was kinda all over the place and not as funny as the first season. Izzy Hands single-handedly carried the whole of s2 on his back and then they killed him i thought we were past burying our gays

im sad because izzy arc wasn't supposed to be peak with the La Vie en Rose, it was supposed to peak with his death. his arc wasn't about defining himself outside of his fucked up relationship with ed, or even just found family. his story was him getting better enough that you cared when he died.

he was never a main character, that why he could die and no other character ever would. that's why he lost his leg, no other character would've lost a limb in the scenario, but its izzy. and izzys supposed to fuckign feel bad for how he treated ed.

the only other time a character is permanently injured in this show is lucius, who (for the record) is never shown to suffer in any way because of this. I mean at most there one fuckign line of dialog in episode 7 where he's writing the signatures. but besides that, never fucking acknowledged, even though his whole thing was writing.

izzy goes through so much, to get nothing. izzy was never going to get anything. i cant watch episode 6 ever again because its not impactful anymore. this isn't his peak. he's going to die because its not allowed to be a comedy for him.

izzy "only human in a muppet movie" hands, was a nickname not a fucking premonition. izzy wasn't allowed to cross genres. he didn't earn it i guess.

im sad and i just want my fun queer comedy back, but its becoming more and more clear, i never had it in the first place.

You know what makes me sad about the s2 finale? It's not so much that Izzy died. That was hinted at for a while.

It's the fact that not one person from the crew wanted to avenge him. They all went about their lives and enjoyed the peace that they finally got. And it hurts even more when you remember the conversation between Stede and Zheng.

"Don't you want revenge?"

I love that they got their happy ever after, but Izzy deserved better. Especially from Ed

i love the way izzy is opening up. i love the way he's realising that he can try things and explore parts of himself because he has that safety net of a crew that won't mock him for it. like the makeup and the singing and that inner joy radiating from him because he let himself try something new and it wasn't played for laughs because it wasn't meant to be funny. it was touching and real and encouraging and i just love love love the work that went in to that !!
