Disappointed. Normally I am thrilled when NBA all star weekend comes around but now it’s becoming a shit show. It’s starting to turn into the NFL Pro Bowl. I guess I was spoiled. Back in the day, the dunk contest sets up the whole weekend because it’s the most anticipated event of the whole weekend along with the actually game. When the 3pt contest is better than the dunk contest, there is a big problem. The last great dunk contest I have seen was a couple years ago when Aaron Gordon and Zach Lavine were going back and forth with sudden death dunks. But when you get players who you seen in games who aren’t creative dunkers, it turns you off from the weekend. All Star weekend now is really about the celebrity parties and events. The actual sporting event itself is gone. I remember when it came to Philly. It was probably the best time of my life because I was up close and in person to everything. One of my favorite things about all star weekend was Jam Session. Jam Session was a section where you see the basketball history and participate in different events. They had different tents were they gave out information. And of course, free stuff! Who doesn’t like free things.
It comes a time when everybody has to walk away from what they love. Dirk Nowitzki, arguably the greatest Euro player to ever step on the court, career is coming to a end. He currently can’t do what he use to do but he deserves to go out just the way he wants, which is playing with the Dallas Mavericks til the end. Yes we aren’t winning many games but letting Dirk play his last games is amazing to see. This guy brought the franchise to dominance. Without Dirk, the franchise would not be known. He delivered us a championship against the best big 3 squad in NBA history. Dirk is a 11 time all star who scored 30k points and has the chance to past Wilt Chamberlain on the all time scoring list. Dirk gives the Mavs that Lone Ranger type feeling despite have all star players, he never had a true MVP player besides Steve Nash who won MVP after he left. Dirk should have his number retired and Statue reveal right after he retires.
Marvin Bagley with his first 30 point performance of his career.
Marvin Bagley III in a 117-104 win vs. the Suns: Career-high 32 points on 10-15 shooting, 11-13 from the FT line & 7 rebounds in 32 minutes off the bench (1st career 30-point game).
I learned something different the other day. Willie O’Ree became the first black professional hockey player in 1958. He played for the Boston Bruins. He was finally inducted into the Pro Hockey Hall of Fame in 2018. I am not a big hockey Stan but I support my Flyers when I can. My favorite players were John Leclair and Eric Lindross #FlyersLegends. I jumped right on this fact and shared it to my Facebook because I never heard something like this during black history month. We always hear the typical Muhammad Ali, Jackie Robinson, & Joe Louis stories. This is a real story to tell. People called him the Jackie Robinson of hockey because he broke the color barrier for the sport. You don’t hear too much about him because a lot of black people aren’t into hockey. But I know the ones that are know who Willie O’Ree is. I hope his legacy don’t get lost in history because this is a big fact right here. Shout out to Mr. O’Ree
The #NBATradeDeadline has finally past. I can say this is one of the best trade deadlines we have had in recent years. Players were moving all over the place. Players were even getting traded to one team then traded to another team, which was crazy enough. Players that needed to move has been traded like Harrison Barnes, Marc Gasol, Dennis Smith Jr, & Markelle Fultz. Other players we thought that were going to move, didn’t move. For example: Anthony Davis is still a New Orleans Pelican. The Lakers had a package where they were actually offering their whole team just for Anthony Davis. But now since Anthony Davis is not moving, Boston is now in play for the big man. The East is now dominating the NBA with the moves they made. Sixers brought in Tobias Harris to form a Big 4 with Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, & Jimmy Butler. The Raptors traded for Marc Gasol to add with Kawhi Leonard. The Bucks traded for Nikola Mirotic. The top teams in the east are ensuring their future to challenge the Warriors for the NBA title. I am excited for the upcoming playoffs this year.
Kristaps Porzingis is now a Dallas Maverick. I knew this day would come. He’s the perfect replacement for Dirk Nowitzki. I have been saying that since he was drafted. But the difference between Kristaps and Dirk, Porzingis is more athletic. Porzingis, who I have always called Porzingod, is a freak of nature. He’s a 7’3 player who can shoot the basketball really well and defend the 4 and 5 positions. In this era of basketball where the big has the stretch the floor (thanks to Dirk Nowitzki), Porzingod fits right with the Mavs system. With Dirk most likely retiring at the end of the season, Porzingis gets to learn from one of the best PF in the history of the game. He has already picked his brain during the NBA Global games. With the emergence of Luka Doncic, the Mavs haven’t had a deadly combo like this since Steve Nash and Dirk Nowitzki. I am very excited for the future of the Mavs franchise. Despite the up and down season, this trade has made me more excited for the future. Let’s Go Mavs !
Only Knicks will...
The Dallas Mavericks have agreed to a trade with the New York Knicks for All-Star forward Kristaps Porzingis.
The trade also includes the Knicks sending Courtney Lee and Tim Hardaway Jr. to the Mavericks in return for Wesley Matthews, Dennis Smith Jr. and Deandre Jordan. The deal may also include draft assets, sources said.
I am really upset that we had to let Dennis Smith Jr go. I believe he will be one of those fantastic players at the PG position. I feel like he was the odd man out and never really had a chance once Luka found his groove. I hope he find success where he goes. Only reason why I say whatever he goes because you got goofy Knicks’ fans chanting we want Kyrie in the Garden like they don’t have DSJ coming in. They also still have Frank Ntilikina. So why would they want a logged jam at the PG position? Dennis is going to a historic franchise but recently they aren’t a well run franchise. He dropped a triple double on the team he got traded too. That’s enough of insurance right there. Plus they were suppose to draft him. Hopefully Dennis will become a legit all star caliber player in the second half of the season so the Knicks won’t have to go after Kyrie. They keep have my guy DSJ as part of the rebuild.
Dennis Smith Jr. recorded his second career triple-double on Wednesday with 13 points, a career-high 15 assists and 10 rebounds.
Dennis Smith Jr. had 13 points, 10 boards and a career-high 15 assists in a win at New York to join Antoine Walker (2004) as the only players in Dallas Mavericks team history to post a triple-double at the Garden.
Makes a lot of sense 😂😂😂 I just really left the police station. It took me 5hrs to get out 😂😂😂
The funniest fucking thing about Resident Evil 2 is that this is Leon’s first day on the job. Like this is his only real experience as cop.
No wonder he becomes a secret agent who’s only skill set is dealing with zombies 🧟♂️. Can you imagine if he tried to be a normal police officer after this?
“Oi! Why’s Officer Kennedy rummageing through the station?”
“Oh well sometimes he looks for old trinkets and stuff just in case the chief has a breakdown, locks us in, and we have to escape through the basement”
*Blank Stares*
“Sometimes he also eats weeds from the garden”
