❗️❗️❗️SPOILERS/ THEORIES FOR HAZBIN HOTEL!!!❗️❗️❗️
Mkay so Hazbin Hotel’s got me in a chokehold. And honestly, I have my own theories, mainly pertaining Lilith and Eve.
One, I don’t like the idea Lilith and Eve are the same person. Nor do I like the idea that Eve is secretly Lilith/ Eve took over Lilith’s body.
Personally, I love the idea that Lilith made a deal with Adam to pardon Charlie and hellborn kind from extermination. Yes, I’m aware Lute said it was Lucifer, but what if she was lying because no one’s supposed to know about Lilith being in heaven and her deal? I don’t think she made a deal to be in heaven, I think Heaven was Adam’s bargain. In exchange for the pardon on Charlie and hellborn kind, Lilith must come up to heaven and be with Adam. Thus, also this helps the theory of her making a deal with Alastor to ensure Charlie’s safety since she is gone and needs someone strong to watch over her daughter. A motherly sacrifice of Lilith to make. Now, I say this because this is to bring in my Eve theory. I believe Eve is in fact in Hell, but she’s doing her own thing.
Eve is known as the first sinner, therefore she does not get into heaven. Persuaded with promise of dream and free will, she is damned to Hell. Thus, her anger both to Heaven and Hell. Now, Cain being the first murderer, I believe he’s there too. Now, a personal theory of mine, due to Eve’s rage and hatred against Heaven and Hell, she is Satan, the ruler of Wrath. (I mainly like this idea because we haven’t seen the Ruler of Wrath yet and plus I just was a cool cowgirl character so I adapted Eve into a personal headcanon of mine to be the Ruler of Wrath mkay cool). Angry at Heaven to deny her a spot to be with her children one day, angry at Hell (Luci and Lilith) for damning her to Hell with promise of free will. Cain too is down in wrath, if not Envy. I dunno, I just like the idea of seeing Eve as a super angry woman but getting a whole “I forgive you” sweet moment between her and Lilith and Lucifer. And, I want that girl to just have a place she can have control over and have just a slice of having her own identity.
Now, she could also be Wrath because perhaps she is angry because after Lucifer and Lilith were damned to Hell, she didn’t know what happened to them. She saw them as friends (if not lovers for my polyamorous Lilith/Lucifer/Eve shippers), and she thinks they’ve abandoned her. She is stuck with Adam, who we know is a dick, and grows to resent God, Lucifer, and Lilith for leaving her to be in what I’m sure was a toxic and abusive relationship with no hope of a way out.
Now if Eve is in fact in Hell, despite her being a leader or not, this would solidify Adam’s want for one of his wife’s to join him in Heaven. Perhaps he knew he couldn’t convince Eve after their awful marriage to join him again, so he aims for Lilith and her weakness; the safety of Charlie and her people.
All in all, I don’t want to villainize traumatized women in Hazbin Hotel for the sake of drama and plot. Now I do like the idea of Roo (Root of All Evil) being the absolute MAIN antagonist, but I might do a separate post on that later.

Do you think that Eris is painted as a villain in other god’s stories because she herself can be used as a scapegoat for a title that was given to her at birth? That she can be an excuse for infidelity, abuse, and war because she is the goddess of and strife? When in turn, she is also the two sides of the same coin. On the other side, while she still creates enmity between two people, it pushed them to better themselves so they could simple be better.
Do you think that Eris had another motive to causing the Trojan War besides chaos? Didn’t Zeus cast her daughter Äte down to the mortal realm and take away her godliness because she had made him take a false oath in the swirl of a coup set up by his own wife, brother, and child? Has no one considered the possibility that Eris decided to get revenge by causing one of the (rumored) largest wars in human history? By making his people fight and kill each other, pitting the gods against one another?
Eris is said the be an ugly goddess, one that man and god fear. That the ugly goddess had no one love her. She is the symphony against beauty and the tide that breaks the cycle of femininity made by mortals because she herself follows no cycle and no standard. She simply is and will always will be.
Yet, despite all that she has done to humans, I feel like she loves them. Because in them she sees herself, chaos and strife. And yet she gets no love in return.
People forget that goddesses were once little girls too. In my mind, I’ve created a whole story for Eris. That she was young once and did harmless chaos and tricks until she had to take her title and being to use it as a defense mechanism against the men that paint her as a monster for their actions.

Let’s talk about Eris:
I don’t think Eris is entirely a villain. A goddess of chaos, born to be despised. She can’t help that she was born to cause mayhem. She’s just following the role she was given. I’d be upset too if a Mf made assumptions about me and didn’t invite me to their wedding cause of it. Not only that, she was done dirty. Her (possible) father banished her daughter, Äte, because she too was following her nature and had Zeus take an oath? I’d be devastated. She was mistreated while the others were praised no matter what.
And the myths say that no one loved her romantically because of her reputation so she had to have her own kids, I can’t help but feel bad for her. The only gods that seemed to like her was Ares and Enyo because they too understood the pain of being judged for their given titles. She’s basically the gods scapegoat and beck-and-call for when they do or want terrible things done. And she’s not entirely bad. She actually encouraged humans to be better so they can be the best, kind of like pettiness, but I feel like she has so much love for humanity because we’re all chaotic in some form. She wants us to be better so others can become jealous of us and then be better themselves. Kind of weird, but hey, can’t be too picky. I can only imagine how she would be today.
She would be the wind that messes up your hair, or the rain when you just stepped outside after doing it for hours. Your card declining with a whole buggy of groceries. That guy dropping his phone down the sewer grate. A kid dropping his ice cream. A parking ticket when you step away for five minutes. When the girl you match with on Tinder suddenly cancels due to a flat tire. A heel breaking in the middle of dancing with friends. She might be the things we hate, but in some aspects she’s the things that make us laugh. Like when we accidentally bump into a cute stranger. Or getting pushed into your crush’s shoulder. Tripping and falling in front of your friend. Your friend gets their hair stuck in the door. Spill a drink on your lap at a dinner with friends. Getting a terrible typo in a flirty text. Chaos can be small or big, but she’s always there to keep our lives interesting. Without her, life would be so boring. I am forever grateful for sweet Eris, she keeps my life fun and I couldn’t be happier. She deserves a better rep.

A faerie introduces himself. Then, holding out a hand, asks, “And your name, please?”
And, like a fool, you give it to him.
