Poor baby. I don't have much words for this other than the usual, If he is willing, He will eventually learn what a good relationship looks like. He just needs to open minded about it. I guess its a good thing Yuu is willing to be friends with him despite all of his choices.

Twisted Wonderland Theory: Why I Think Azul Doesn't Accept "Love" (Including Jade's Friendship")

This is kind of sad.

In Azul's birthday interview, he talked about his family, but something is off about it.

When he talks about his family members, he says things like "My step-father is a kind respectable man" and whatnot, but unlike other characters, I don't see him talking about memories with them; Normally, characters are like "My sisters-" or "I went to go fishing-", but Azul is just talking about their pros, nothing more than what people see, and not how he feels personally about them.

Azul's mother (and grandmother, who I assume is on his mother's side) have the ability to do great things, such as cooking and leadership, but Azul never touches on their personality. I want him to be loved by his grandmother a ton, as well as his mother.

I don't think Azul has any "happy memories" of her when he was younger. (I think this is why he and Idia get along)

This is where his biological father comes in; did Azul's father take care of him when he was younger, while his mother was busy?

He doesn't talk about his father, but I think he's part of his past he wants to get rid of.

I think his dad wasn't financially stable, however, I think he did truly love him. (because court usually pick the more stable household for the child to have main custody in) I think his parents fought as a loving father but has almost no financial stability vs. an emotionally distant mother but has financial power.

Probably part of his traumatized past, but then this is where his step-father comes in.

I honestly don't get good vibes from his step-father, because he got married to his mother when she was a client.

I think he feels like his step-father "took his mother away". I feel like his feelings are leaning towards "I have to have a good relationship with him", rather than just "looking up" to him.

Looking at his family, the members are all really talented and great, which makes his 'fake' businessman and money-lover persona a result of a harsh/rushed adaptation to his new family. I think he felt that if he wasn't good enough, he will be abandoned, like his biological father.

This is seen in the ghost marriage event when he adds on and tries to be the perfect man with a dog and things when he could have gotten to the goal if he just expressed himself more naturally.

Going back to his mom, I think she is kind of a femme fatale type person or a great mother type person (Cal Jung theory). In a bad way.

I feel like his mother wanted him to stay not only because she may have loved him, but also because of her image to society. I think that Azul was growing up told "What a great mother you have!", so much that he couldn't hate or get mad at her. I hope he takes over his mother's restaurant in the future.

I think he does dislike people like his mother, so the more the woman is similar to his mother, he dislikes them. Also, I think because of his mother I feel like he feels as if he has imperfections, he will never be loved, which causes him to hide his true persona.

I call his true persona the "Karage (fried food) lover" and the 'fake' one "Coin-collecter".

The karage personality is the one he may have got from his dad. I call it his favorite food because his father was involved in his past, and I think his love for food may have come from him. This is the sweet good child that's also a cry baby.

The coin-collecter personality is the one he built from looking at his step-father. All of the activities and hobbies are business-related, rather than just enjoying his high school experience. It looks like he wants to be independent as soon as he can. I think he also uses this because if someone denies him, there is an excuse that this isn't a denial of himself as a person.

This is what I'm going to assume is the Azul Ashengrotto childhood timeline:

Started to have memory: Restaurant expansion & memories with his father (Maybe parents started fighting..?)

Elementary School: Divorce and started studying like crazy

Middle school: Leech twins as friends, started to get knowledge of laws and contracts. And the plan to look down on the people who bullied him.

Then he got his unique magic, which reflects on his childhood. I think he's crazy about protecting the contracts because his parents failed to keep the vows of love.

I don't think his parents really knew about the bullying because they were so caught up in their divorce/marriage.

Anyways, Azul tries to not get close with people because he feels like they would leave him one day, so he cuts him off before they can hurt him. And this is a reason why he tries not to trust and get emotionally attached to Jade. (Which he is trying to use his manipulation tactics to get Azul to be addicted to his service)

I feel like his true personality could be more of an emotional artist, rather than a stoic businessman.

Do you think the movie made the right choice in having Akumatized people requiring to be beaten with brute force, as the Akuma is apparently in the person instead of the object, or is it too derivative?

Well the thing is that the akumatized people were having their emotions turning them into villains, so the akuma were akumatizing their hearts.

In a way I actually think this make more sense in a lore sense then in the show.

By having it be a brute force method it means Any miraculous could be used to fight against akuma, it doesnt make the Ladybug miraculous immediately more special than the cat or any other miraculous. Something I actually like.

Speaking of which the exclusion of the lucky charm does seem like a downgrade but in reality, Ladybug and Chat noir were made much more powerful in the movie

The powers of Ladybug are her powers of creation, miracle cure isnt just returning things to normal, Movie!Ladybug is manipulating the powers of creation to recreate things as they were. Chat noir's destructive power is not just in his cataclysmic touch he can break through pretty much anything, he is a walking cataclysm, and he can focus that power into his touch.

As for nino. I think that wasnt actually nino but they wanted to make a gag of tossing Bubbler in jail cause if you saw the magazine it was about style. It was a dig at the design of Bubbler.

I wonder what reference is being made on his accessories, aka bracelet and necklace. Red Flowers: Rambles About Camp 2, Glomas, and Chapter 7

[JP spoilers ahead, you have been warned]

HI I’M SO MAD BECAUSE WDYM CAMP VARGAS 2 FORESHADOWED GLORIOUS MASQUERADE????????

For context, in this part of the event, Film Studies Club and Board Game Club just shoo’d away the forest fairies, and then they talked about why they were trying to put out the campfires. Then they started talking about the forest fire that happened back then: a miner’s campfire accidentally got too big and the fire happened. And then that screenshot comes up.

Vil also says “red flowers” in the JP.

This is insane to me because in the JP version, Camp Vargas 2 was the event directly before Glorious Masquerade. Camp happened late September 2022. Glomas happened the next month.

THIS IS SO INSANE….. THEY LITERALLY JUST DROPPED THIS SO INNOCUOUSLY AND THEN MAKE IT THE BIG THING IN THE NEXT EVENT…….

But it’s also so interesting too because!! A friend and I were talking about it because the red flowers that Rollo grew in Glomas are forbidden flowers! They were a thing in the past at one point. Fae would have known about the flowers, because in the first place, they’re fatal to them. The red flowers absorb magic and they will keep absorbing magic until the mage user has no more magic. And as beings literally made of magic, this is definitely deadly for fae. So in a way, this tidbit of information packs so much worldbuilding, not just about the forest fire, but also the perspective of fae.

Worth interesting to bring up here: Red flowers most likely came from Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. In the movie, humans made red dust from it to kill fae in the human-fae war. As that war is canon in Twst, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Silver Knights (the humans) used them against the faes. So with that context, fae would see red flowers as a horrible thing, and to conflate it with fire, which kills living things too… yeah.

And now that we’re on this topic, we have to talk about chapter 7 because I am haunted by the fact that in the Maleficent movie, the faes do win against the humans.

But in Twst? We clearly see that that’s not the case.

Briar Valley was once called Land of Briar, as seen in the title cards showing the location in Lilia’s dream, connoting that it used to be much bigger. If you look at the map of Briar Valley, you’d also see that there are division marks on the country itself.

Literally the human-fae war has been twisted in this game. And that’s so fucking beautiful because in the original Sleeping Beauty, the humans won against Maleficent. Fae was the villain in that movie. But in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, it’s the faes who won. Humans were the villain. And THEN you see here that the humans won, but now you can’t really tell who’s hero or villain. It’s easy to say the humans because fae like Lilia are protagonists in this game… but remember too that Silver is fully human And may or may not be descended from the Knights and Sebek is half human. Ffs, Yuu is human.

Anyway, consider that Maleficent lives despite the red dust used in the war. But now think: if the silver knights Do use the red flowers, that may have been what killed Malleus’ mother… and the one who lives is Lilia.

Consider too that in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, one of the three fairies died to that red dust protecting the other fae :-) the blue fairy specifically. Noteworthy too that she’s the one who lifts Aurora’s curse such that she doesn’t die but just sleeps till she’s given true love’s kiss. Kinda… like how Malleus was born. Needs to be given love to “wake up”, to be hatched, to live. Like how Aurora needs to wake up via true love’s kiss to live. Merryweather in that sense is kinda like Lilia.

How haunting then that if Twst didn’t twist (heh) Maleficent surviving the war and made Mallenoir live, it could have been Lilia (who was the one who helped Malleus hatch) who died from the war.

Anyway, next chapter 7 update is probably gonna be so fire (haha) !!! But now it’s food for thought for glomas 2

Azul Ashengrotto Thoughts

I am too deep in the rot so here are some thoughts I’ve had about Azul. Warning: they’re long.

• Azul’s unique magic, It’s a Deal, has the ability to take anyone’s magic and skills. But we see that some abilities have many drawbacks, like Jade’s unique magic, or still a little weak, like the magic of some first years. So here’s a question I am thinking of: say Jade’s unique magic has the limitations of not being able to use his magic on someone more than once and being resisted by people with strong magical resistance or overly calculated minds, if Azul would take Jade’s unique magic, due to the magical power difference between the two of them, would Azul be able to bypass some of the limitations (he can use Shock the Heart on the same person more than once, he can make people with strong magic say the truth) that was imposed on the original user or is he forced to follow the limitations set? Because if Azul can bypass the limitations that one had to experience, that makes his unique magic very dangerous. It’s enough that he can take it so easily, but to also be able to wield it so much better because he has so much magic power? That’s powerful.

• Speaking of unique magic, there is a theory that the unique magic of a user is based on one’s personality or one’s particular experience in their life. And I am bringing this up for the next bullet point:

• Has anyone realized that Azul’s unique magic rewrites the genetic code of a person? Think about it. Azul can take away not only one’s magic but also one’s physical traits, such as changing someone’s tail (as seen in his flashback) or taking someone’s voice. Magic also seems to be something one is born with in this universe (or else we’d be hearing about people going to some place to get magic wheeze). So if Azul can take away and give back such abilities and traits, he is essentially rewriting one’s genes so they can accommodate with the loss of a trait or ability, and the same may go for giving it back. If one’s unique magic is truly based on one’s personality or experiences, there are two details about Azul that his UM gives:

Azul wants power over his peers. This one is already kind of a given, but I’m throwing this in anyway. When Azul was a child, he was bad at academics, he was (and still is) a slow swimmer, he continuously spat out ink, and he was picked on for those things. As a way of getting back on his bullies, Azul wants them to feel the same way he felt: to have nothing, to be left with nothing. By stealing their most precious ability, they can somehow feel what he felt when he was bullied.

Azul wants to change his species. By having a unique magic that rewrites someone’s genetic code, this can imply Azul’s desire to rewrite his own genes so he may change his species. He’s insecure about his true form, after all, having been bullied for it. This desire for a change in species is also seen in his flashback, when Jade and Floyd first found his octopus pot and Jade points out some of the magic spells written on the pot, one of which is a spell that can change one’s species.

• I find it bemusing whenever I see people depict Azul not wanting to eat anything healthy and it would need the reader or twins to get him to eat something healthy, when we see Azul willingly order a salad for lunch in chapter 3-7. If anything, he can eat healthy, but it’s mainly for dietary purposes. I think you would need to struggle more to get him to eat unhealthy foods since he’s so insistent on maintaining a moderate calorie intake so he doesn’t get fat 😂 (ngl though, that hard work paid off, Azul has such a sexy waist 😳😳😳).

• Lots of female Azul artworks depict her having quite the chest, and I understand that given Ursula’s voluptuous body. Personally, though, I kinda see her having a chest binder if she has a huge bust size because I think she might feel that a large chest makes her look a little fatter. On a side note, ma’am Azul is hot af no matter what and knows how to get me weak on the knees. 😳

• In the Octavinelle CM, in the beginning where the trio are in the VIP room, it’s noted that Azul has his coat and hat removed. His coat is the main thing that signifies his position as dorm head, as we don’t see any of the other Octavinelle students walking around and about with a coat on their shoulders. In one of Azul’s dorm SSR lines, he states that whenever he puts on his dorm uniform, people show him more respect. But alone in the room with Floyd and Jade, he shrugs off the coat and the hat. I like to think that Azul can remove his coat because around the twins, he doesn’t have to act as a leader around them. We know how much Azul wants power, and wearing that coat gives him that power over his peers, but around the twins, he can somehow be himself, no need for any power differences between them.

• I think some people have pointed it out, but the same CM seems to suggest that Azul’s overblot was not due to the loss of contracts, but due to the loss of Floyd and Jade, and this could be seen in the actual story. Yes, losing the contracts has deeply affected his mental state, but what exactly happened right before his OB? It’s Floyd remarking how lame Azul looks and Jade chiding him that this is not how the procedure of taking magic should go. Jade and Floyd are the two people who have stuck with Azul for the longest time, and while they will say they would leave him if he gets boring, it’s clear that the trio have a lot of trust in each other. When they came back to him going crazy, Azul begs them to hand to him their unique abilities, hoping that they side with him. But they don’t, and Floyd even calls him lame which is something you should never call anybody as when they are having a mental breakdown. And in that moment, Azul feels truly alone. His weaknesses are exposed and not even his closest friends are going to help him. It’s a nod to the original movie, in which Ursula accidentally kills her beloved eels and laments about them. But instead of losing the twins through death, Azul loses them, or rather, he fears losing them, if they were to leave him.

• Azul does not like relying on luck, and I’ve been contemplating on a reason why. But right now, I like to think his dislike on reliance of luck is stemmed from the fact he was born a mer octopus, someone who looks different from everyone else. He never wanted to be an octopus, and he wasn’t born gifted in anything either. He wasn’t born lucky, he was just lucky to be born. He had no control over what species he will be upon birth, nor did he choose his parents. And it’s because he had no choice but to be an octopus that he hates having to rely on some invisible force since said invisible force decided “hey let’s make him an octopus and make him suffer uwu”. And once he finally has control over his bullies, he finds that the newfound power and control he possessed is really awesome and wants to keep it that way, and if he’s going to rely on luck to keep his power, he fears that luck will remove that power quickly like how it removed his chance of having a decent childhood and so would rather take matters into his own hands.

• Among the four overblots we’ve gotten so far, only three of them have spoken before the actual OB battle. Riddle yells off about a world where everyone follows his rule, Leona roars and threatens to kill everyone, and Jamil is soaking up on everyone calling him ‘Jamil-sama’. But Azul? Azul is silent. He said nothing before his battle. Okay, he says some lines during the battle, but they are not stated by a voice at all. It’s a neat little reference to Ariel losing her voice and being unable to make her feelings heard. But I think more than that, there is a much more emotional impact in Azul’s silence. One key trait of his is how talkative he is. In ghost marriage, Leona points out that Azul got slapped due to how talkative he is. Azul always has something to say. He knows how to persuade you, he knows what words to use to prod all your weaknesses, he knows how to sweet talk anybody. And we know how good he is at keeping up appearances, like how he makes his contracts seem invincible for example when they are only made up of paper. But in his overblot, he has nothing to say. His contracts are gone, the one thing that made him powerful, and now he is scared that he will become a weak stupid octopus again. And what is worse? His weaknesses are exposed. And his overblot being his octopus form is a physical manifestation of his inner fragility. And Azul can’t say anything because it’s true, he is not as strong as we would assume, and that truth is out for everyone to see, and he can no longer give any lie to prove otherwise.

Well dang. This certianly adds more charactariztion to the characters.

Magic 3 Thoughts

The introduction of magic 3 in Twst’s new gameplay is very interesting because it makes me wonder what is in store for the characters in chapter 7.

Dorm cards in particular tell the characters’ personality and magical ability.

For example, let's take three cards: Dorm Riddle, Dorm Epel, and Dorm Azul.

Dorm Riddle

Dorm Riddle deals two strong hits at Lv.10 of his first spell. It hints at his strong power. The two hits on his first spell also shows how he can summon spells fast. In chapter 6, Idia’s analysis of Riddle is that he can fire spells very fast. Take note that among the dorm SSRs, only he, Dorm Leona, and Dorm Malleus can deal two strong hits. And we all know how powerful and experienced Leona and Malleus are. Even amongst other SSRs, only Birthday Kalim, GM Ace, and Camp Trey can deal two hits on their first spell, with everyone else dealing one hit with an effect, whether buff or debuff.

Furthermore, Riddle has the highest ATK stat in the game (no, Dorm Malleus did Not overthrow him, shocking news right?). This can refer to how Riddle has a high magic pool for his age, which can only be obtained by intensive training from when you’re young. Consequently, he has the lowest HP among all SSRs. This may be in reference to his fast blot accumulation—external factors have a clear impact on his blot.

Dorm Epel

Dorm Epel��s first spell references his UM. His first spell can deal a small ATK Down and heals the team at the same time. His UM, Sleep Kiss, puts people to sleep in glass coffins. In a sense, the protection people gain from the glass coffins will lower the severity of any injuries they sustain, referencing the ATK Down debuff that cuts opponent’s damage on your team. Sleep is also a form of recovery for the body, which references the heal.

Buddies are telling of a character’s relationship with another to an extent. A notable buddy is Epel’s buddy with Vil, as it boosts both his HP and ATK. He’s the only dorm card aside from Malleus with that sort of buddy boost. It references how Vil is trying to build Epel to become the best kind of person that he can be without compromising himself, hence why both HP and ATK are boosted rather than only one stat. Vil looks out for Epel’s growth in many things, whether in beauty or in strength.

Dorm Azul

Dorm Azul’s M1 is absolutely packed with not only a buff, a small ATK UP, but also a heal. It’s rather self serving, and it references to how Azul would steal people’s talent to make himself stronger.

In chapter 6, Idia mentions how Azul is the type to stall or use others as meat shields before attacking due to having a relatively low magic pool compared to other overblotters. He needs time to produce a spell. It makes him fit to be a healer/support.

Azul's buddies are very important here. Most SSRs have a HP M buddy, HP S, and ATK/POW S buddy. His buddies, however, are HP S, HP S, and ATK M. Jade is his ATK M buddy, while Riddle and Idia are the HP buddies. Buddies that give small boost in a stat are the characters who have an effect on the character himself but aren't that involved in his life, whereas buddies that give medium boost in a stat are very involved in a character's life. I find that HP buddies tend to represent how a buddy affects a character's growth (in their character), while ATK buddies tend to represent a buddy making a character stronger.

Riddle and Idia do have an influence on Azul, but it's not a major one. Riddle is a fellow 2nd year dorm leader; the two of them have worked together in their duties as dorm leaders and schoolmates. As for Idia, he and Azul are club mates. Azul has shared in his first birthday story that the board game club has made him more comfortable in taking calculated risks.

The important buddy here is Jade. Jade provides a medium boost to Azul's ATK stat. It can indicate here that Jade affects Azul a lot, particularly in making him stronger. Stronger in the eye of the public, stronger in the sense that he's more confident because at least there is Jade to lean onto in case a sudden change of plans occurs...? A list can be made.

Therefore, because dorm cards show some of the personality of the characters in gameplay format, the introduction of the 3rd magic speaks about something regarding the characters. And in the midst of chapter 7 and getting thrown into this dream world, is the 3rd magic showing us more depth to the character now that we have gone through six full arcs in the main story? Or is it showing that the character will undergo change in the dream world?

For example, Dorm Riddle's first magic is just two strong hits, an offense-oriented spell that would make him more suitable for a Basic test where dealing damage is priority. However, his third magic is a medium ATK DOWN on two opponents, which is a debuff and an ability more suited for a Defense test. Dorm Leona also goes through the same thing, except his medium ATK DOWN is a 3-turn debuff on a single opponent.

Some cards have their first and third spells having similar effects. Dorm Vil is an example of this, having a small ATK DOWN for 1 turn on his first spell and medium ATK DOWN for 3 turns on his 3rd spell. Dorm Ortho's first and third spells are similar in that they are both buffs—his first spell is a 3-turn medium DMG UP on himself while his 3rd spell has a small ATK UP, along with Freeze Immunity, which allows characters' buffs to go through even if Freeze was casted on the character on a specific turn.

Some characters gain heals, particularly Ace, Kalim, Rook, and Sebek. Ace, Rook, And Sebek heal is HP Regen or the 3-turn heal. Kalim's is 1-turn. It's interesting what this means for them and how they would develop.

The original dorm card healers, Trey, Azul, and Epel, gain Curse Immunity and a small ATK UP. What this does is that essentially, if you use their heal and the Curse immunity in one turn, they can heal even if the opponent implements curse on them. It's like they gain their own ability to protect themselves so that they can protect their team better.

Possibly for some cards, it can show more depth to the character's personality, like how Riddle's ATK DOWN on two opponents can be an expression of how he makes people follow his lead.

i love seeing how Azul is becoming a better person and it's not limited to just in-game. It's so cool to see it. I love fan ideas but it sometimes hurts when I see fans write him as if nothing happened and he didn't learn anything.

Azul's Character Development In White Day Letters

White Day 2022 letters just got released today, and I'm losing my marbles. I'm losing my fucking marbles over Ashengrotto as we speak I'm really awed by how much attention they put into the fact that these characters developed. Letters of those like Sebek and Silver still reflect that they haven't gone through complete change because their time to shine has yet to come, but there are those characters whose letters reflect how much they changed. Azul is one of them.

Just a disclaimer that the 2022 White Day letters literally just came out today, and this post will have Azul's 2022 letter completely, so if you don't want to see it yet, please scroll through this post. Anyway, this will be under a cut.

So here's Azul's 2022 White Day letter. I'm typing out the contents because some people wish for the images of their letters to not be spread.

My boon companion— What a lovely gift this is. Thank you kindly. If you're ever in need of anything, don't be afraid to reach out. And just to be clear, that's not in return for the gift—after all, I've accepted this as a token of your sentiment. That said, I'm willing to take it somewhat into account with any future bargains we might make.

Now okay, from the first word, you can already tell that Azul is a lot more sincere in this letter than the last. To compare, here's Azul's 2021 White Day letter.

My dear friend, Thank you so very much for this absolutely wonderful present. I am positively overjoyed to receive such an affectionate gift. When you have the time, please do drop by the Mostro Lounge. Present the enclosed card at the door and you can enjoy a complimentary drink on me.

Now when I mean first word, I don’t mean the way he addresses you but the first two sentences.

2021 letter opens up with: Thank you so very much for this absolutely wonderful present. I am positively overjoyed to receive such an affectionate gift.

2022 letter, on the other hand, opens up with: What a lovely gift this is. Thank you kindly.

The opening sentence of the 2021 letter has the charm dialed up. You can practically taste the sickening sweetness in those words. You especially see this in the phrases “thank you so very much”, “absolutely wonderful present”, “positively overjoyed”, and “receive such an affectionate gift”. In those phrases, Azul used quite a number of unnecessary words. It ends up giving off the impression similar to someone wearing too many accessories in their outfit in an attempt to look ‘charming’. It results in him sounding fake around you just to impress or make you happy, which can also result in you questioning whether he did like the gift or not. It also gives off a kind of haughtiness, especially in the thank you portion (though that could also be the way I imagine him saying it in my head. I always hear him going “thank you oh so much” just from reading that).

But the 2022 letter opens up with something more concise yet sincere. It still has that Azul charm™️, especially with the way he phrases the first sentence. He goes “what a lovely gift this is”, which could have also been phrased as “your gift is lovely” or “the gift you gave was lovely”, sentences that technically convey the same message, but the last two don’t have Azul’s voice, aka it doesn’t match his character as well. However, it’s not dolled up in unnecessary words. He found your gift lovely, plain and simple. And even in the way he says thank you, it’s not excessive. It’s a simple “thank you”. There’s no thought to be fake to impress, he’s expressing his thoughts with no unnecessary words. He likes your gift, and he actually means it.

Moving on to the next part, this is the part where Azul's character development really shines.

In the 2021 letter, Azul says:

While in the 2022 letter, Azul says:

If you're ever in need of anything, don't be afraid to reach out. And just to be clear, that's not in return for the gift—after all, I've accepted this as a token of your sentiment. That said, I'm willing to take it somewhat into account with any future bargains we might make.

Azul has the mindset where he thinks people are always out to get what they want. They do favors for people or give others gifts to get something in return. Kindness for the sake of it is not a concept that he entertains. It's why he always tries to "return the favor", as he thinks that he'd be indebted to someone if they do something good for him. You can especially see how his mindset on this works in his PE vignette.

Jamil: Then we'll stick to the basics. There's a trick to it, all right? Set your broom on the ground first. Azul: What do you want? Jamil: What? Azul: I'm sure you aren't teaching me that trick for free. The world doesn't work that way. So? What do you want? Jamil: It's not like I was offering. The coach told me to do it, so I'm doing it. Azul: So you're doing this out of the goodness of your heart? You truly want nothing? As if I could buy such a blatant lie. I have no wish to be in debt to you. I can only imagine what ridiculous demand you'll make of me when this is over! [PE Azul vignette, EN]

In the 2021 letter, that mindset can be seen when he tells you that you can enjoy a complimentary drink on him, aka you can enjoy a free drink from the Mostro Lounge. You gave him a gift, so in return, he'll give you a free beverage. He doesn't even hesitate or ask you if you want it. Azul just offers it to you because he doesn't want to be indebted to you.

But in the 2022 letter, Azul lets you know that you can reach out to him for help, and he adds that it isn't in return for your gift. In fact, he says, and I'm going to put in quotes because this needs to be emphasized: "After all, I've accepted this as a token of your sentiment." He recognizes that what you gave him is a damn gift and one given out of thought and not given out of expectation. He's one step closer to learning that not everyone's out to get what they want even if at the expense of others. It's not like Azul totally changed either. He still adds that he's still going to think about your gift to him in possible deals, so he still has that mindset to pay what you're owed. And that's good character development because yes, he's going through change, yes, he's growing, but that change doesn't mean that he's gonna be a totally different person. It's like how real people act. There will be experiences we go through that will make us reflect on ourselves and see what we can do to improve, but we're not gonna do a sudden 180. A large part of our personality will still remain the same.

Now finally, let's talk about the way Azul addresses you. "My dear friend" versus "My boon companion".

I'm gonna be honest here, the first time I saw "my boon companion", I experienced a lot of second-hand embarrassment. LIKE .. this is definitely a me thing, but 'boon' is Not a pretty word in my eyes and it sounds goofy almost. I even thought of the words 'boom' (as in, boom in business) and 'tycoon'. 😭 Don't get me wrong, it's still is pretty goofy, and I still get a bit embarrassed, BUT LET ME EXPLAIN WHY I'M NOW IN FUCKING SHAMBLES OVER THE DAMN BOON COMPANION

I will always love how Azul calls you 'my dear friend'. Azul calling you 'my dear' is one of my biggest weaknesses, and just thinking of 'friend' as a placeholder for your name really got me simping hard. LIKE... LIKE COME ON, IT'S SUCH A CLASSY PET NAME THAT'S ALSO SO TENDER AND INTIMATE, AND URSULA CANONICALLY SAYS "my dear sweet child" TO ARIEL IN LITTLE MERMAID, SO IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE FOR AZUL TO CALL YOU "MY DEAR".

But there is a certain distance to "my dear friend". Like yes, it's such a sweet way to address you, but that's the thing. It's sweet, and when you pair that with how caked up the rest of his message is, it does come off as fake as well.

Now boon companion. It sounds embarrassing... BUT. It's so dorky. And in a good way. It's like Azul is trying to refer to you as a best friend or bosom buddy without being so on the nose about it, so he tries to find some other fancy way to convey that same meaning. Probably tried to act cool, failed, but it's still really cute and you can't hate him for it 😭

But here's the best part. If you look up the meaning of boon, it essentially means a timely blessing. So if you look at "my boon companion" again, Azul is calling you a blessed companion. He's calling you a person that he's grateful to have in his life. He's calling you a blessing. And there's nothing faked in here or what. You've been a good friend to him that he's so grateful for. It’s one thing to be called a dear friend. But it’s another to be called a friend that someone is grateful for.

In conclusion, Azul stans we fucking won this year 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩

Omgosh! I can’t breathe. This is absolutely ridiculous!!

hold up, WHERE did the eel slime moisturizer thing in the TWST fandom come from bc i’ve seen it several time just with no context and i’m so confused??

it's from Azul's SR Robes card story! which I remember because I have to periodically look it up again just to make sure it wasn't a fever dream I had because it is BUCKWILD.

short version, Vil is like "ugh fine I'll make a deal with you if you can make me a better moisturizer" and the boys faff around for a few days until they realize they have no idea how to make good moisturizer, and finally Floyd goes "shame he can't be like us, we're SUPER moist!". and somehow this inspires Azul and Jade to go "hmm. yes." and literally juice Floyd like a lemon to sell the resulting mess in a cute bottle to Vil.

smash cut to a few days later with Vil going "fair play boys, this is the best moisturizer I've ever used, what's in it?" and Azul goes "HA HA TRADE SECRET anyway unrelated but Floyd is finally able to walk again".

like there are some pretty decent jokes in Twst that have elicited a sensible chuckle out of me, but this one made me actually go "WHAT" out loud and spend a while looking up kanji because surely I must have misunderstood. but no, this is just a thing that happens that never gets remarked on again! and it was pre-episode 5 so I would keep remembering it during Vil's big emotional scenes and that sure made that an experience!

in retrospect I shouldn't be surprised that now the characters are just flinging pies into each other's faces like a Three Stooges' skit because canon is already a complete clowntown circus, why not.

A/N: If you can pinpoint the exact moment I started to slowly doubt my writing ability and how to write these characters, I will give you, the reader, 100 points. Cause man this was rough to write when you have writer's block q wq But anyways, this was when my requests were closed BUT I WANTED TO COME THROUGH WITH IT! I would like to dedicate it to @kirayamidemon since I read their comic and it was...excellent.

But in other news, I found out that eels like to be petted!

Warnings: Eel petting, Octopus petting and all three Octavinelle members feeling a certain way when you finally give them those pats.

[Floyd-Senpai: Shrimpy~! Meet us in the mirror room tonight! Azul says he wants to give you something!]

Your eyes look down at your phone before pocketing it back into your jacket, taking another sip of the Coral Pink drink Floyd had made for you before you left Monstro Lounge as you reminisce back on the day you just had.

Today has been probably the most successful day the Monstro Lounge has had in a while. You had offered up the idea to Azul while you two walked to the cafeteria, mentioning touching a manta ray once and how you didn’t expect them to be so slimy. He had looked at you curiously and asked if you had just been a curious child when you were growing up, but you told him that you used to go to a lot of aquariums and how you would go straight to the petting exhibit.

And the moment you said petting exhibit, Azul already had cashed the idea in.

Aquariums had been placed elegantly among the tables of Monstro Lounge tonight. The smaller aquariums on the tables were closed lid, giving the customers a chance to enjoy the little ecosystems Jade had personally made for the creatures Azul had brought in while partaking in their drinks and meals. It made for a killer Magicam picture and Azul had predicted with Vil’s and Cater’s attendance the hashtag #MonstroLoungeExperience would be trending by the time they reached the dinner rush.

It trended faster than they thought.

Most foot traffic, however, came from the piece de resistance.

In the middle of the Lounge, a large aquarium had been placed at foot level where various customers could reach down and pet larger animals such as sting rays, sturgeon fish, starfishes and sea cucumbers. All of them with little placards stating fun facts as well as little sections with a bunch of coral that made for another perfect Magicam photo opportunity.

It had been an amazing experience and you felt like you had almost grown closer to the three Octavinelle students, which was always an ‘A+’ in your book.

You were pretty sure you saw Azul smiling from ear to ear by the time they closed and Floyd and Jade looked physically exhausted from having to deal with so many customers. They had been busy from opening to closing with no breaks in between so you figured that they would want to rest.

So getting a message from Floyd so late at night had been somewhat confusing.

But you didn’t question it, the fact that Azul wants to give you something making you ever so curious.

Who knows, maybe if the sea creatures were still around Azul could let you pet them some more?

Out of everyone you had probably been the most excited for the petting exhibit and you had given him the idea so the possibility of playing more with the starfishes and manta rays pushed you to move faster.

Finishing the last of your drink and throwing it away in the nearest trash can, you push open the doors to the mirror room with a smile--!

Only to find nobody.

“...huh.”

You look around, not daring to call out either of their names since, technically, you weren’t even supposed to be here. The only thing you could do was take a few steps further, looking around as you try to make some sense of the situation.

Why wouldn’t they meet you in Octavinelle? The Monstro Lounge was there, as well as all the creatures. Azul’s office was there as well so if he wanted to give you something he could have given it to you there, so why had Floyd asked to meet them in the Mirror room? You look around for a moment before frowning as the realization set in.

It was a prank.

“Dammit.”

Of course. Why would Floyd even act this nice towards you if it wasn’t to lull you into a false sense of security? The table you had sat in today had a beautiful aquarium with a bunch of little shrimps floating around and the mereel, more than once, had opened the lid and stuck his hand inside to grab one of the shrimps and hang it over his open mouth.

You thought he was just acting this way because he was stressed from working so much but he probably had just done it to tease you! With a huff, you pull out your phone and open up his contact number to give him a piece of your mind--!

“Aha! Shrimpy is here!”

Only to gag as the back of your jacket is grabbed by a slimy aquamarine hand, pulling you into the nearest mirror and leaving nothing but your phone laying on the ground.

Floyd’s hands pull you into a hug the moment you are pulled into the water, laughing as he sees you thrashing around and pulling at the arms keeping you pressed close to him.

“Ahhhh! Shrimpy stop moving!”

The mereel squeezes you tight, smiling as he looks down at the moment you realize who is holding you and what you are able to do.

He grins and wraps his tail around you, the fins brushing your fingertips as the shock slowly starts to die down and the curiosity starts to set in. Floyd’s eyes shine brighter under the sea, your hand going to your chest as you expected to drown immediately but finding it simple to breathe in and out.

“What--?!”

“Finally!”

“There we go~ Breathe in--”

You take a deep breath.

“And out~”

Your chest relaxes as Floyd giggles at how wide your eyes have gotten, letting you go with his arms but his tail wrapping around one of your legs and pulling you close to him once again. He smiles when your hands go up to inspect the fins on his ears but stop as if the situation was still highly unreal for you to believe.

He guessed humans rarely got to see the sea during the night, but he was glad he got to show you this sight. Even if it was Azul’s idea in the first place.

Looking around, you notice that you had been here before.

It was the Coral Sea.

You look back at the mereel as Floyd tilts his head at your confusion, smiling as he sees the shining in your eyes get brighter when you notice that the veins in his arms and the ones going up his neck are all shining in the moonlit water.

“Floyd…”

Ah. You really looked too cute. Especially when you were looking at him with so much wonder. Maybe he should just take you out further and hide near the corals, somewhere Jade nor Azul would look as he preens under your attention.

He blinks as you break out of the spell long enough to point a finger at him.

“You--! Why did you call me to the Mirror room so late! The last thing I need to do is get in trouble with the Headmaster!”

Floyd frowns, “You didn’t get in trouble! I pulled you when I heard your voice! Why didn’t you call out to me!”

“Because I couldn’t see tail nor fin of you!”

Both of you stop talking after your dumb joke, looking at each other with surprise before a giggle escapes your lips first, turning into a full blown laugh between you both as he takes your hand and presses it under the fins in his ears.

“Shrimpy was so mean today. Petting all those creatures and ignoring everything else. It made me want to eat all of them up.”

You smile and rub right under the juncture where fins meet skin, Floyd shivering as he pulls you closer to him.

“Eels don’t eat any invertebrates, right? You guys are mostly carnivores.”

He grins and gives you a small squeeze. You even knew of his diet? Why hadn’t you mentioned you knew some things about sea creatures. If you had, Floyd would have dragged you to the Coral Sea way before this! He smiles as your hands go all the way down to his neck, tracing each vein slowly but not going any further than his clavicle and choosing instead to run your fingers from his shoulder blades all the way to his Adam's apple.

“Shrimpy is being too shy. Here!”

You gasp as Floyd grabs your hand and helps you swim over to a pair of rocks, sitting you down on top as the bottom of his tail wrapped around your legs to keep you anchored. He laughs as he practically sits on you, choosing instead to lay the top half of his tail on your lap as you look down at the shiny, swishing fins.

“Now you can touch as much as you’d like!”

Floyd was ready to make a joke about how this would a much better petting experience for you but his eyes widen when he sees the wonder in yours, the smile in his face disappearing as he watches your fascination with his fins, running your fingers through his caudal fin and rubbing the edges with your hand. His hands twitch as you run yours up his tail, taking in the slimy but firm feeling before looking up at him and reaching out to cup his face with one hand.

He presses his cheek against your palm, smiling as you scratch right over his ear fin and almost jumping up from the rock as you start to rub the appendage.

“Shrimpy wait--”

Shit, he almost bit his tongue. He could barely look into your curious eyes as his heart sped up, the most sensitive area of his body being played and inspected with being a far too new feeling for him to just laugh it off.

Floyd bites his bottom lip as his tail squeezes your legs, closing his eyes as he felt several shivers go up his spine. It felt too good--

“Floyd?”

The mereel slowly comes down from the high as he glares at the intruder, clicking his tongue as he saw who it was.

A pair of identical eyes to Floyd’s turn in your direction, your hand pulling away from the other as you turned to greet Jade.

“You certainly took them farther than I thought you would.”

He chuckles as his brother turns away, clearly not wanting you to see the blush on his cheeks. Nevertheless, his attention immediately goes back to you, swimming over to your side and sitting on the opposite of where Floyd was situated.

“Did you have any troubles finding us?”

You shook your head, “Floyd grabbed me and pulled me in before I could leave.”

Jade nods and looks down at how Floyd had situated himself, a brief pang of jealousy overtaking him as he scoots closer, takes your hand and presses it on his chest. You immediately try to pull back but Jade’s eyes lid as he tugs you in closer, the veins in his chest shining even brighter than Floyd’s as he immediately feels you relax in his touch.

“Do you know what this is, [Y/N]-san?”

His eyes take their time to take in all of you as you nod your head, whispering the word ‘bioluminescence’ as Jade licks his lips.

How strange was it to see you so focused. Jade had taken his time during the lull of the Monstro Lounge hours to watch you near the petting tank, your fingers running over the manta rays and tapping at the carapaces of the horseshoe crabs. And like his brother he did feel a certain sort of jealousy for those creatures, but he also saw an opportunity.

An opportunity to get your guard down.

His eyes look over at Floyd, the other pouting as your fingers start to trace Jade’s chest all by themselves.

“Uhm--”

Jade’s attention goes back to you, “Yes?”

“I didn’t think that moray eels had bioluminescence.”

He smiles and takes your hand again, guiding it from the middle of his chest all the way to his cheek making sure that your fingers feel the light travel in his veins as you start to wriggle out of Floyd’s hold and into Jade’s.

“Our kind is a mixture of many eels types. While our exterior is that of a moray eel, our interior is also made up of certain eels that use this feature as a way to communicate with other animals, warn predators…”

The mereel decides to keep the ‘lure prey’ part out of his explanation.��

Jade’s eyes immediately went to Floyd’s as the other was about to speak up, glaring at him to keep his mouth quiet for he had his turn. His eyes soften when they go back to you, your eyes still taking in all of the small trails of light decorating Jade’s body as your hands trace against the caudal fins on his arms.

They were rougher than the ones near their ears…

Slowly, your hands go to the fins on the side of Jade’s face, the mereel tensing up but keeping his eyes on you as you start to tug and rub at the appendages.

“[Y/N]-san…”

His nails scratch against the rocks as he feels your fingers trace every line they can find, his fins giving a little twitch as you push them back only to watch them slowly move back to their original spot. You had no idea what you were making him feel, what you probably made Floyd feel.

And if his dear brother wanted to keep it a secret, then he would keep his mouth shut as well.

Having someone touch them so freely, especially that area, was an act reserved for mates only. Even during courtship this was prohibited and if any other merperson happened to swim by it would be as if they just tumbled into the merman equivalent of someone shoving their fingers in between someone else’s legs.

But your curiosity was so endearing and Jade just couldn’t find it in himself to pull you away. In fact, that look of yours full of innocence and naivety was so cute that if he let his instincts run wild you would find yourself being dragged to the Leech's home--

“What--you two!”

His reason kicks back in as Jade smiles and turns to look at the new visitor.

The octomer’s face is bright red as he locks eyes with you, your hands letting go of Jade’s fins as he smiles and waves at Azul.

“I’m glad you decided to join us, Azul.”

He wants to say something about what the hell he just saw but he decides to save it, knowing full well that Jade nor Floyd were going to give him a straight answer. Instead, he decides to address you directly.

“Inferring from our conversation from early this morning as well as your actions during the Monstro Lounge opening hours, I figured you would like this sort of surprise."

He clears his throat, sneaking a peek at your face and quickly looking away as he saw your eyes staring straight at him.

Humans like you are still curious about the different types of merpeople, especially those like Jade and Floyd, so after much consideration I decided--”

"Azul, you're beautiful."

Oh no. He bit his tongue. Fuck, fuck, fuck he bit his tongue and now it hurts like a shell clamping down on his hand--why had you gone and say something like that so suddenly?!

"Excuse me?"

The spell Jade had you in was completely broken as you pulled out of the brother's hold and swam over to him, stopping when you noticed him backing away.

Azul stared at you and you stared back at him.

He couldn't help it. After all the things he had to deal with, it was hard enough for him to even appear in front of you like this. And it wasn't like he was doing it as a showing of any sort of affection towards you, he just didn't want to owe you any favours from the idea you had given him!

All he had to do was just...reach a tentacle out--

"Huh?"

Azul notices you swimming back a tiny bit, smiling at the tentacle shyly reaching out to you.

"You can turn back, you know. I don't want you to feel forced to do this."

You point at him, your eyes still wide with curiosity but keeping your distance.

"The fact that I get to see you like this is enough."

Azul can feel his heart skip a beat, tentacles unfurling even more as the need to hide melted away.

But...he owed you a favor...

"Honestly. Thank you so much Azul."

For the Sea Witch's sake, he really couldn't pin you down, could he?

The octomer swims over, floating right in front of you as one tentacle shyly brushes against your fingertips. They twitch in interest but you do not move, looking up at Azul expectantly.

You really were too nice for your own good, waiting for someone to give you the okay when he clearly wanted you to at least inspect that part of him.

"Go...go ahead."

Your touch is soft, pressing your hands right against his suckers and chuckling at the small noise they made as they attached themselves to your skin. Azul moves in a bit closer as some tentacles start wrapping around your ankles and wrists, his natural instincts taking over as his tentacles wrap around the person he really liked.

Well not like as in like like but a like he had yet to put a definition to. And it's not like it needed a definition, you certainly weren't asking him what sort of like it was and the thought of what kind of like it really was didn't keep him up at night at all.

"Oop!"

Azul almost wants to screech at the tentacle going in between your legs and hoisting you up, offering you a sort of makeshift seat as the other appendages start to press against your neck, leaving behind little sucker marks in their wake.

This situation was not only testing his boundaries but also his patience.

"I didn't think they would be so slippery...and so soft!"

Please don't look so curious about him! It's going to give him wild expectations!

The tip of a tentacle rubs against your cheek, Azul's face an almost red tomato as he hears you chuckle and push the appendage back but for some reason his tentacles weren't listening to him so the thing only pushed forward even more--

"Ah! No fair!"

Floyd comes up behind you, wrapping you up in a hug as he points a finger at Azul.

"No hogging Shrimpy to yourself!"

Azul swims back in alarm.

"I wasn't hogging anyone!"

Jade laughs as he swims right up behind you, a hand on your shoulder as he pulls you back.

"Azul you might want to look down."

The octomer blinks only to look down, seeing that one of his tentacles had stubbornly wrapped around your waist.

"Ahh...ahhhh….!"

You, Jade and Floyd blink as dark ink fills the water, Azul covering his face and letting you go, swimming to the nearest hole and curling up inside as he strangles one of his tentacles.

Of all the things to embarrass him it just had to be himself, huh?!

"Azul? Wait come back!"

"Shrimpy tell me I'm beautiful as well~!"

"Floyd let me go! There's ink everywhere!"

"Not until you tell me I'm beautiful!"

"Jade!"

"Azul is more than okay, I can assure you...although I would also like the same compliment as well, [Y/N]-san."

The next day, you woke up with a high fever due to swimming all night, a present from all of the Octavinelle students at your doorstep with an apology card neatly placed on top.

Kissing Prompts

NOT MINE

Types of Kisses:

Goodbye kisses: Lingering and hard for longer times apart. Ones that curve A’s body against B’s and cause hands to play against backs. Or short pecks, maybe not even completely on the mouth for short trips to the grocery store.

Hello kisses: After long periods apart, these can include A picking up B and spinning them around. Fingers pressing into cheeks, palms cupping necks, and breathless laughs when they finally come up for air.

Breathless kisses: A series of short pecks because they need the closeness but they also need air, so. Sometimes smiles come in between, or sometimes it’s just breath, gasping for the sole purpose of being able to kiss again.

Heated kisses: Breath huffing into mouths, angrily or passionately. Hands grabbing at clothing and pulling each other closer.

First kisses: Hesitant and nervous. Lips hover inches from each other for a few seconds before they just barely brush. It’s just a soft press, but it ignites their entire bodies. Pinkies link afterwards, still wanting to be close, and each looks down, smiling softly.

After sex kisses: Lazy, slow presses. Limbs pressed together, chests heaving. Soft murmurs about what to do for dinner later, fingers trailing down backs, tracing lazy patterns. B rolling onto their back and A trailing their lips down their neck, kissing their shoulder, their chest, anywhere they can think of, memorizing B.

Morning kisses: Barely awake kisses that usually end up on jaws or cheeks because A is too tired to land it properly. B makes a sleepy sound and rolls into A, nuzzling their face into their neck, ankles hooking together, while A drapes their arms around B and they fall back asleep for a while.

Post-break up kisses: Soft and slow. Hands on each other’s arms in a way that neither can tell if the other is pushing away or pulling closer. The kiss ends with their foreheads pressed together, neither wanting it to be true that this is happening.

Christmas kisses: More smile than actual kiss. A holds mistletoe above their heads while B rolls their eyes, but pulls A down by the collar of their ugly Christmas sweater for a heated kiss. A takes B by the waist and walks forward until they are around the corner, away from the prying eyes and hoots of the rest of their friends and family.

Comforting kisses: B walks into find A sitting on the bed, shoulders shaking, cheeks wet. A looks up, face looking stricken for a moment. B is shocked, and quietly says A’s name. At this, A breaks, face crumpling, and only barely has time to reach both hands out for B before B is there, kneeling at A’s feet. B takes A’s hands first, kissing their knuckles and palms. Then B reaches up to hold A’s face, pressing soft kisses around their cheeks, their lips, murmuring “it’s okay” and “you’re alright” and “I’m here” in between.

“I thought I lost you” kisses: The breath is knocked out of both of them with the force that they collide with. Hands grip the back of t-shirts and palms are pressed up and under shirts, holding them close, feeling the warmth of their skin. Palms are pressed to cheeks, thumbs swiping away tears until their mouths collide messily, the world seeming to disappear around them.

“We can’t do this” kisses: Fists clenched, hands shoved into pockets. Brows low or brought together, jaws clenched. A feeling like a magnetic pull between them. Their foreheads pressed together, their lips brush, just barely, until B pulls away with a shaking exhale, forehead dropping into A’s neck.

“Come to bed” kisses: A has their hands on B’s neck, murmuring the phrase softly. A’s hands slide down B’s arms to their hands, lacing their fingers together and slowly starting to pull B towards their bedroom. A continues to pepper B with kisses all the while, trailing them down their jaw and neck.

“You look beautiful” kisses: Just a soft press of lips to the temple, resting them there for a moment, then smiling down and telling them as much.

“I’ll be right back” kisses: A puts their hands on B’s shoulders from behind them, where they are sat on the couch. He leans down and around, while B turns his head a little, accepting the quick peck.

“I missed you” kisses: Long and relentless, holding their body close, arms wrapped completely around their waist. A burying their head in B’s neck and pressing kisses there too.

Angry kisses: Hard, gripping. Fists in clothes, shoving each other against walls. Fingers digging into hips. But the kisses always melt away from that. They turn into brushes of lips between shaking breaths, until they’re out of energy and are left just standing there, holding each other, fingers carding through hair.

Sad kisses: Almost not a kiss at all. Just holding onto each other tightly, A’s lips pressed to B’s temple, whispering soft words, desperately trying to provide whatever comfort they can.

In the dark kisses: The movie plays in the background, but A and B are hardly paying attention from the back row. They kiss soundlessly, long and soft, fingers locked. A’s arm is thrown behind B’s seat, wrist bent to curl their fingers into B’s hair.

Dying kisses: A holds B in their arms, panicked, crying. Murmurs of “no, no, no.” Salt on their lips from tears. Voice cracking. Holding on tightly to their shirt, their shoulder, their hand, roughly pulling them against their body, anything to try and keep them tethered to this earth. Kissing them as they die (“no. No, stay awake—“), Kissing them once more even with the life has left their body (No. God, come back. Please, come back. Please, look at me, I’m right here”).

Ways to Kiss:

breaking the kiss to say something, staying so close that you’re murmuring into each other’s mouths

moving around while kissing, stumbling over things, pushing each other back against the wall/onto the bed

kissing so desperately that their whole body curves into the other person’s

throwing their arms around the other person, holding them close while they kiss

hands on the other person’s back, fingertips pressing under their top, drawing gentle circles against that small strip of bare skin that make them break the kiss with a gasp

lazy morning kisses before they’ve even opened their eyes, still mumbling half-incoherently, not wanting to wake up

routine kisses where the other person presents their cheek/forehead for the hello/goodbye kiss without even looking up from what they’re doing

being unable to open their eyes for a few moments afterward

one small kiss, pulling away for an instant, then devouring each other

staring at the other’s lips, trying not to kiss them, before giving in

when one stops the kiss to whisper “I’m sorry, are you sure you-” and they answer by kissing them more

a hoarse whisper “kiss me”

following the kiss with a series of kisses down the neck

starting with a kiss meant to be gentle, ending up in passion

a gentle “i love you” whispered after a soft kiss, followed immediately by a stronger kiss

when one person’s face is scrunched up, and the other one kisses their lips/nose/forehead

height difference kisses where one person has to bend down and the other is on their tippy toes

kisses where one person is sitting in the other’s lap

kisses meant to distract the other person from whatever they were intently doing

top of head kisses

Places Where People Kiss:

In the rain.

In a vehicle.

In the street.

On the sidewalk.
