Rage
seething quietly,
waiting to break out
and scream.
Rage, anger, despair
Break things
it could help,
seething
I will not be quiet.
Shout, Rage,
Let it free
Shout out,
Let it bleed,
Rage.

“I do fundamentally believe in people. If you look at Star Trek mythology, what Star Trek mythology tells you is that there came a point on planet Earth where everyone’s disagreements became so extreme that there was a nuclear war, and that was World War III. And then years later, society started rebuilding itself, but it had to rebuild itself out of the shadow of what had happened, knowing we can’t let that happen again. And part of me thinks that may end up turning out to be prophetically true. We are definitely at a crossroads of some kind as a species. And probably in our lifetime we’re going to see the beginning of some change that’s really, really seismic, but it’s really going to be our kids who are really going to be dealing with it. Everybody has their ‘What am I doing to help save things or try and do things?’ And I feel like telling stories that inspire people to think a little differently about all of these issues, be it Man Who Fell To Earth or Star Trek or whatever, is what I can do. Star Trek gave people a roadmap to imagine a future where our better angels won. So people have to believe it’s possible… I think human beings are capable of amazing things. And ultimately, we’re gonna find our level at some point, or we’re gonna keep trying to.”
— Alex Kurtzman Talks Star Trek Philosophy And How It Can Be A Road Map To A Better Future

anyone else remember being a child and seeing the very neat handwriting of other little girls and somehow knowing that you were a different genre of person than they were

Was there a time before everyone was labeled?
Was there a time before Us Vs. Them?
   Have the differences
      always been so important
   that people are thought of
as interior or superior?
I doubt it.
   We’ve always been human.
Maybe I never will
   understand
because of my privilege.

I am not remarkable,
once you write on me it stays forever.
Words seared into my brain eternally,
   I don’t always remember
      but when I do
         I can’t stop
            Thinking.

Who care if it gets dark earlier or later?
In this world of electricity,
   and staying out til 2a.m.
It doesn’t really matter anymore,
   there’s already enough bureaucratic bullshit,
can we please
   just forget
Daylight
Savings
Time
Can we just forget Time?

Throwback Thursday,
A chance to show the world
   where we came from.
What day should we show the world
   where we’re going?

Glitz and glamor,
350 miles away
who will win
   these little golden men?
Any why do we really care?
   Awarding people for being
   skilled liars.
   We should award the
   people who help every day.
And yet I still buy into it all.

A birthday,
Infinitely better than the last.
Another year older,
but no more wise.
Will I ever truly grow up?

Rain on my windows wakes me,
pouring from the gutters.
I lay there and listen
not ready to go on with the day.

will I become one,

Pretend to be a poet?
