Book Questions Part 1:
book you’ve reread the most times? - There's a few actually. 99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne, The Risk by Elle Kennedy, and The Crown of Gilded Bones by Jennifer L. Armentrout.
top 5 books of all time? This is so stressful omg. Okay here's my list but in no specific order: - 99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne (tbh I love every book by Sally Thorne. Honourable mention: The Hating Game, but I cut it from my list because I love Tom Valeska more...oops) - The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen (from The Bridge Kingdom series. PS. I loved the second book The Traitor Queen just as much as the first one - they tie.) - The Mask Falling by Samantha Shannon (from The Bone Season series) - A Crown of Bitter Orange by Laura Florand (La Vie en Roses series) - Faking Normal by Courtney C Stevens (I haven't read this book in a long time, but this story always stands out in my mind because the moral of the story was so strong) (Honourable mentions: The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, the Veronica Speedwell mystery books by Deanna Raybourn)
what is your favourite genre? - If you couldn't tell it's romance. (Currently I'm really into Fantasy Romance, but I also love contemporary romance)
what sections of a bookstore do you browse? - Romance, YA, and poetry mostly, but I also like to look at the reference section for books on writing craft as well.
where do you buy books? - Apple Books, Kindle, and Indigo Chapters
what books have you read in the last month? - The Bridge Kingdom series by Danielle L. Jensen which was the best decision I ever made, The Girl Who Belonged to the Sea by Katherine Quinn (unfortunately I didn't like this book and couldn't finish), The Prison Healer by Lynette Noni, The Plated Prisoner by Raven Kennedy, and unfortunately Hooked by Emily McIntire which was the worst book I have ever read in my entire life. (I'm currently reading The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels by India Holton, but it's the last day of May so does it actually count because I just started it literally this morning.)
is there a series/book that got you into reading? - Maximum Ride by James Patterson and The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins were definitely influences, but tbh I used to read Wattpad stories and it just kind of exploded my love for romance and reading.
what is the first book you remember reading yourself? - Going way back to when I was way younger, I remember loving The Magic Treehouse by Mary Pope Osbourne (yes, I had to look that up) and also Robert Munsch books, but the actual books that I think actually influenced me to start reading for fun was definitely Maximum Ride. I was 12 and it was the first time I was reading something that I literally did not want to put down ever.
when do you tend to read most? - Romance, as you can see.
do you have a guilty fav? - A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas. People give her slack and I will admit to all the valid points people have made, but that doesn't erase the fact that she writes incredible characters and she also created the love of my life Cassian.

I am not remarkable,
once you write on me it stays forever.
Words seared into my brain eternally,
   I don’t always remember
      but when I do
         I can’t stop
            Thinking.

elle est retrouvee.
quoi? l'eternite.
c'est la mer allee
avec le soleil.
...poetry leads to the same place as all forms of eroticism — to the blending and fusion of separate objects. it leads us to eternity, it leads us to death, and through death to continuity. poetry is eternity; the sun matched with the sea.

Often an ascent is born from a dream, from an exaltation, from a spontaneous desire, sometimes irrational: a pretty name, a form, a story, a memory and here we are at the anchor of a summit; but the time comes when it must become a calculation, the precise relation between the goal and the means of the mountaineer; from this report follows the decision. The mountaineer must always remember this formula, unpleasant to state in its drought, but capital, because it conditions the departure.
At this moment, there’s more charm in this enchanted world, more poetry in this universe; a cold calculation depends the life of the mountaineer and that of his companions. But how beautiful is this intimate dialogue between man and the forces of nature!
**Known internationally by its German name the Matterhorn, it owes its fame to its almost perfect pyramid shape. Its four-sided, ridged rocky peak towers 4,478 metres above sea level, in perfect isolation in the midst of a quite singular alpine panorama.

Asks for writers: 2, 3, 6, 13, 32
Thank you!!
2: dialogue or descriptionDescription. Dialogue is Hard, because how do normal people even talk??, and, since my primary genre is poetry, description just feels more familiar.
3: favorite character you’ve ever writtenI’m really fond of the cast of Eleyus, especially Ell, Bennen, and Dimmle, whose name I’ve changed at least twice but I keep calling him Dimmle anyway.
6: favorite character name you’ve come up withAnna-Lucia (from Generations), and Amaryllis “Ryll” Harper (from All The Light That Came Before)
13: favorite line you’ve writtenThis is really hard?? A solid contender, from a sonnet: “Rivers cold with light run beside the antlered deer”A solid contender from Generations, just and only because I actually think about this all the time: “Space was dark and empty, a lot of nothing between points of light unimaginably far apart. The farther you went out into space, the farther you were from anything at all. But here on the warm earth, starlight was abundant, sweet as honey and cool as milk. She could reach out and touch it. She was floating on a vast, steady raft in the midst of a warm indigo sea.”
32: epilogues or prologuesWhen drafting, prologue, but I always seem to write myself out of it. Like with essays - I tend to write backwards, and my initial intro becomes the draft of a conclusion when the body is finished.

THOUGHTS OF HANOI by NGUYEN THI VINH
Tumblr media
The night is deep and chill
as in early autumn. Pitchblack,
it thickens after each lightning flash.
I dream of Hanoi:
5 Co-ngu Road
ten years of separation
the way back sliced by a frontier of hatred.
I want to bury the past
to burn the future
10 still I yearn
still I fear
those endless nights
waiting for dawn.
Brother,
15 how is Hang Dao now?
How is Ngoc Son temple?
Do the trains still run
each day from Hanoi
to the neighboring towns?
20 To Bac-ninh, Cam-giang, Yen-bai,
the small villages, islands
of brown thatch in a lush green sea?
The girls
bright eyes
25 ruddy cheeks
four-piece dresses
raven-bill scarves
sowing harvesting
spinning weaving
30 all year round,
the boys
ploughing
transplanting
in the fields
35 in their shops
running across
the meadow at evening
to fly kites
and sing alternating songs.
Analysis
A thought of hanoi is a poem about the war and the inner struggles of the characters on how to balance their emotions. In the first line" the night is deep and chill as in early autumn. Pitch black, it thickens after each lighting flash" the author is giving a clear image about the war and chaos it tell us thatw ar is difficult to imagine.
According to Angela Janovsky(2019) Genre is a broad term refers to any works that share certain characteristics. A main literary genre is a poetry wherein it is written and stanzas instead of sentences and paragraph " athoughts of hanoi" written by Nguyen thi vinh is a narrative poetry it ells tye emotion state of the person while goin to war. This poem was written in a free-verse, with 6stanzas and 70 line.
As cited by andrews Motion (2016). Theme is defined as main ideas 9r an underlying mean of literary work, which may be directly or indirectly. Theme is the testing the limits of the love and friendship during the war. The character reminisced they are close of bond pf friendship and it was ironic that they are going to be enemies because of war. The author has given us an idea that war is chaotic maybe tomorrow your friends will be turned into enemies
As cited in the literarydevices.net (2018) stated that the subject tye readers a complete idea of what the work is all about, or about whom is the author is writing. Understanding how the subject is used is necessary to write a cohesive literary piece. The subject is the war and the author is giving an idea about what is war and how chaotic it is. Wat ha smany killings and destruction.
