Hi. I don't know if my message has come to you, but anyway, thank you one more time for the Seraphic Blue translation! The question is: what tool did you use for work? I want to make a russian translation of the game but none of the programs just don't want to open the game files.
Hey, sry for late reply. I used RPG Maker 2000 itself to translate manually back then,

2016 in Review and What to Expect for 2017 in Game Translation
Well, this has been overdue, and most of my posts haven’t been on translation, so I will talk about 2016 and what to expect in 2017.
2016 has been kind of a forgettable year for translation in general. Since finishing Nocturne: Rebirth, I have tried my hands on translating 2 games, but both have ultimately ended up in hiatus. I just didn’t feel those games are worth translating midway through the translation.
I did, however, tried my hands on a manga translation battle contest (https://myanimelist.net/manga_translation_battle_vol5). The idea was to translate a few pages of a manga. So I gave it a shot, and I received the results recently and...well, I didn’t make it. It was worth a good try though, and I gained some experience from the translation.
That being said, what should you expect from 2017? Well, I’m currently translating a Japanese game that I will reveal once I’m close to midway through the translation. It’s a game that I initially put off translating because it’ll be getting a revamp, but seeing how popular this original game is in the Japanese indie game community, I’ve decided to translate this. And this game will most certainly be released this year, so keep a lookout for it ;)
And yeah, that’s my current plan for 2017. I have a few other games in mind to translate, but they haven’t been released yet, so I’m looking to see if they’re worth translating. One of the games is this: shinobiya.at-ninja.jp.
I may also look into other things to translate. I’ll see how things go after I’m done with translating the current game.

Leaving aside my own gratitude for your translations (I really enjoy Seraphic Blue and Nocturne) what is the life changing event that make you decide to become a translator? And why you decide that your first project should be a 50+ hours JRPG?
Hmm... Let’s see... Well, I enjoy RPG Maker games a lot, and Seraphic Blue was the first Japanese RPG Maker game that I fell in love with. And so, since RPG Maker originated from Japan, I figured I wanted to translate Seraphic Blue to share with the English RPG Maker game community one of the great games that Japan, the land where RPG Maker games began, has to offer. The game’s length didn’t matter; I just wanted the whole world to enjoy this game :) That was how I started to go about translating games :p

Gekikara free game review scores
Gekikara (http://gekikarareview.com/index.html) is a website that reviews free games. They have a set number of admin and sometimes they decide to all review one game and give them scores. Here are the scores for one category, RPGs. Of course, as you read this, do keep in mind that these are of course just the personal opinions of a few people, since I’ve found some of these games to be rated much more highly on other review websites, namely Ruina, Tenshi no Uwasa, and Crestaju.
