Are the fae ruled by a queen?

The Light Fae and Dark Fae are ruled by two separate entities. You can technically see them as being a King/Queen but they’re elected. Or chosen by the Council.

Ravenna is the leader of the Dark Fae and Elhael is the leader of the Light Fae.

What different species of Fae are there? Also, are most members of a certain species more likely to support one particular side in terms of Light and Dark Fae or do the two species not really divide on species lines?

There’s many types (that I wouldn’t be able to name off the top of my head). From various shifters, to fairies, to valkyrae, and many more. Most “fantasy” creatures or mythological creatures would be considered Fae in this story.

Incubi/Succubi are usually considered Dark Fae. While a Fae like Fairies would be considered Light Fae, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t exceptions.

When romancing RO’s would mc only have to worry about sapping a humans life force ad them dying, like MC’s past lover and N, or is that a worry for dating anybody regardless of species?

The MC would only have to be concerned about sapping a humans life force. It’s completely possible for a incubus/succubus to sap the life force from another Fae, but it’s almost impossible to do (as the other Fae wouldn’t allow it).

N is a lot sturdier than they look. I can’t exactly say why that is, but the first half of their romance will be filled with that level of angst until things happen.

Quick question, can we romance someone of the opposite side? Like if we choose Dark Fae, can we romance those of Light Fae and vice versa or nah? 🤔

You’re allowed to do it. Will everyone look upon that favorably? Absolutely not. Has it been done before? Absolutely.

Usually the sides keeps within the sides though.

It would not be possible, I’m afraid. As sexual attraction is quite integral into the type of Fae the MC is.

The MC and J are the only unaligned Fae-- at least within the province that you reside within. As maturing Fae are usually taught the traditions of each side while growing up; Light Fae Families usually stay with the Light Fae and the same can be said for the Dark Fae too. You would have chosen your side when you turned 18, but you weren't a part of the Fae World. Hence you being unaligned at the current moment.

A perk for staying unaligned is that you can technically be a free agent and work for either side without having a conflict of interest. You'd just have to be mindful of the enemies you make.

I wonder how powerful are incubus/succubus

They're fairly powerful in the grand scheme of things, but they're not the most powerful. Like most Fae you'll have elevated strength and endurance (you heal from sexual energy or with time), along with a prolonged life span. However, you wouldn't be stronger than a Wolf Shifter (like Talan/Tala)... I hope that makes sense.

Sure! I won't go too in depth as it'll be explored within the game, but I'll tell you the baseline.

The MC is an incubus/succubus meaning that they're a sex demon (technically). Because of this the MC feeds off of sexual energy. You weren't aware of your lineage, being raised by humans, so when you reached maturity (18) you weren't aware that you had to be cautious when in sexually heightened moments (as it awakens the creature within you to feed). Not having the knowledge, the training, and the understanding of what you were, you drained your high-school sweetheart. Ultimately killing them.

I noticed some characters are Light Fae and some are Dark Fae. is this based on/similar to Seelie and Unseelie courts in other stories about fae or is it a different dynamic?

Sort of? In a sense I can see it being like that but not quite. Truly just think of a Good Side vs A Not So Good Side. One leans more towards peace while the other is a bit more chaotic. Both of pros and both have cons. Being unaligned is like the gray area between the two, but it doesn't have as many perks as being aligned to one side.
