Just now remembered that Valentine's Day is coming up!! Feels like the perfect time to drop the couple thousand words of angsty queer stuff I've been writing on and off for months.
okay finally it's done! my huge ass etn s1 ship based tier list !!! i included every possible s1 ship i've seen and could get a screenshot of ... if there's any i missed feel free to send a picture and i'll add it in asap. but for now i hope everyone enjoys it because god, it took some work. i'll be doing this for s1 and s3 as well, eventually.
(This is an ETN post and not a Repo! TGO post!! Bear with me!!)
2008 Repo! The Genetic Opera absolutely prided itself on being camp. Everyone knew they weren't going to make any money off of it, the film advertises itself as a shitty, gory , messy, bad horror film. And it worked! Nobody claims that it's a top tier horror film, but it has a following for a reason. Had Repo! attempted to market itself as a serious film it would've failed miserably.
I can't stop thinking about Repo! whenever I think about the ETN movie, and I honestly think it's a part of why I hate the idea of the movie so much. Joey is literally having to beg for 250k!! A million dollars not a lot of money for a 85 minute film (Repo! Was several million for a 90 minute film yet it was still incredibly camp) and while I'm sure Joey can work some magic, that's a *lot* of magic to work.
Joey's talking like it's going to be a serious horror film..but it just doesn't seem to have that budget. Unserious horror films with small budgets are camp but prepare before hand and make the camp enjoyable, but serious horror films with small budgets end up camp in a bad way.
I don't HATE hate it, but these kinda films rarely go well and that worries me.
people are being way too nice to the movie and I feel like I need to give it the hate it deserves. Who thought this was a good idea???
general consensus is that we were cool with the campy and slightly low-budget vibe of ETN because of the character it had. It's supposed to be camp, it's supposed to be full of silly unscripted one-liners and actors just having fun being thrown into the scenario. but reading the description for the fundraiser it's clear that's not the direction they're heading.
"The film will have callbacks to the original series (and perhaps even some familiar faces) for the faithful fans but will also stand alone as a gripping horror movie for first-time viewers." this just makes it sound like it's going to be less "Escape the Night the Movie" and more just a movie that takes place in the escape the night universe. I've already seen people talk about the fundraising so I'm not going to rant about that but I will say this; to go basically radio silence for multiple years, out of the blue drop in with a project completely different from what was promised, and then asking for a million dollars is super insane.
I still love s1-4 and this won't change that, but any enthusiasm I had for future ETN seasons/movies has been killed.
And then if I recall after her realizes this doesn't work he gets back to being angry at her.
I'm genuinely so curious about Cecelia's childhood. Like keep in mind Walter meets Marin (presumably his only grandchild!) for the first time and IMMEDIATELY talks about selling her. Get the feeling he wasn't exactly dad of the year.

In the time it took to listen to the entire Beetlejuice album I created this whole AU very very loosely revolving around (the Broadway version of) Beetlejuice... Only to figure out I had mixed up which Andrea was which. But instead of just scraping the idea I spent two years trying to make it work with what I had already created. It's stuck in my head, and I gotta get it out.
The monsters/villains get their own cozy afterlife where they're stuck where they died. Andrea Russett is supposed to die in ep8 but when she doesn't it freaks the afterlife system out (don't ask how this works, I don't have an answer) and Andrea Brooks gets yoinked from her restful afterlife into a Victorian mansion filled with vampires.
Can vampires eat ghosts? Nobody knows, but they'll sure try! They're hungry, a certain lesbian vampire has decided their names are close enough for it to work. Alison just wants to enjoy her miserable afterlife in peace but she's already saved one Andrea so why not another?
It's silly, it's chaotic, it make's zero fucking sense, and everyone is just super confused, but at least I didn't completely throw my work away at the drop of a hat like normal?
no matter how many dinner parties gone wrong, dead friends, and evil people in costumes, joey still asks zero questions in the face of a super sketchy situation.

two (I think?) years of having this account and I've still got zero clue what to change my icon to. Thanks for reminding me anon, I'll find something at least as a placeholder.
Here we are. This is the result of Tutberidze's training. With Valieva, this is Lipnitskaya all over again. This is what we're cheering for: the insane, useless pressure and expectations we push on those girls from such a young age; the imperative need to succeed fast, faster, always faster. We applaud starving girls, we applaud expendable girls, we applaud stupid training methods. So what if Shcherbakova and Trusova are first and second? At best they'll get one more year. One more year to keep destroying body and mind alike. And then the expected back injuries will get unavoidable. And then they won't be able to stop their body from going fully through puberty anymore. And then the younger, less battered girls from the same school will come. And the cycle will start anew. I'm not mad at Trusova, Shcherbakova or even Valieva. But watching female figure skating keeps looking more and more like watching girls with dreams dying on the ice. Simply to allow the adults around them to make even more indecent profits.
i no longer value my social image so now whenever i see people do this shit i purposefully over share.
"I'm so ocd!"
"Same, what's your least favorite compulsion? Mine is saying goodnight to everyone otherwise they'll die. That one really sucks."
they get real horrified when they find out ocd isn't just organization.
"you're so delulu" "#schizoposting" "narc abuse" "the intrusive thoughts won" "microdosing on delusion" "when the voices tell me to" "she's definitely dissociating" oh my god please shut up please shut the fuck up
nah but there's something so wild about being in a sport that's not at all progressive.
the world has long moved into the discussion of queer people and minorities, meanwhile in the figure skating world it's still an argument whether or not girls can wear black skates.
barely even touched on the issue of the rampant child exploitation and abuse, the promotion of eating disorders, and general toxic environment. Nope, the difference in skate color is the biggest issue.
