After taking the blue rabbit to the recovery area, the medics did what they could to heal him.

"We will do everything we can to help him. For now, all we can do is wait until he wakes up."

Storm Eagle quickly flew in the air, trying to evade the bullets. It wasn't too difficult a task. After all, the sky was like his home. Plus, he had to deal with enemies with guns many times in the past, especially during his Maverick Hunter days. However, he didn't want to play "dodge the bullets" forever, and he knew that he had to do more than just fly around and dodging in order for this battle to go anywhere.

"As much as I love being in the air, I had enough of the bullets. Let's see if you can dodge what I have in store!"

Using his signature technique, "Storm Tornado," Storm Eagle attempted to not only blow the bullets away, but to also push Axl back with great force of wind. That is, if Axl wasn't fast enough to dodge the attack.

RiCO was quite impressed by how Axl outsmarted the Mavericks. She found herself cheering for him as he watched him blow the Mavericks away with the grenade and rolled into the next room before the door closed. This was an excellent start. From behind her, another figure was watching and commented on the young hunter's quick thinking.

"You were right about his potential, RiCO. If he's able to think fast like that for the incoming opponent, he might be able to pass this entire test.

"You really think so? It is only the beginning of the test. You don't think it's too early to assume that?"

The figure chuckled.

"Be honest, RiCO," he said, "You have faith Axl will past this test with flying colors yourself, don't you?"

"You got me!" RiCO said, "Guilty as charged. Axl has come a long way, and he's really matured through the years of being a Maverick Hunter. I really think he can do this."

The figure nodded.

"Well, I see his potential, and I'm rooting for him. But to know whether he's truly ready is something I'll need to see more directly..."

"More directly...?" RiCO repeated, "You don't mean..."

"I want to test his abilities personally. If he can pass this test and beat the final boss, I'm hoping he'll have what it takes to fight a 'Secret Boss.' I'll be waiting for him at the very end of this test. Oh, and be sure not to tell Axl about it until he finishes. As a 'Secret Boss,' I want it to be a surprise for him."

RiCO wasn't expecting this. But she nodded. She had faith Axl could pass this test. She even had faith he could face the Final Boss. But this Secret Boss? That actually made her nervous for the young hunter. Whould he be ready to face... Him?

...

Back in the simulation, the first Boss was waiting. He heard someone coming through his door, and knew that meant Axl has arrived. Using his large wings, he was flying in the air, out of view until he saw Axl.

"So it begins..." The individual smiled, as he flew down where Axl was to make himself known.

"Greetings, Axl. I am Storm Eagle, and I will be your first Boss of this test. I heard good things about you, and wish you the best in this simulation. With that said...

(Cue Boss Battle Music)

"I won't be holding anything back in this battle. I suggest you don't hold anything back, neither. Come at me with everything you've got! Show me everything you've learned about being a Maverick Hunter!"
