Twilight fell and the moon, full and bright, rose high over the war-torn port city, the sidewalks soaked and the streets slick from fresh rain. Rain that did little to combat the blazing fire that engulfed an abandoned building off of 19th avenue, deep in the Mercier-Hochelogo district. Billows of smoke bogged the air, as the scene hosted flashing lights, barking police officers, and valiant firefighters. When dawn broke across the Montreal skyline, the flames had been tamed, the building surprisingly still standing, partially at least. It had collapsed on one side, the structure unable to withstand the damage sustained. However, and most shocking, found among the ash and rubble was a mangled, charred body. Unrecognizable. 

It was as though the city had been holding a collective breath, not wondering if, but when. And their answer was not long awaited, as became apparent throughout the morning. The fire was but one of many occurrences to happen that night. But, for the seedier individuals of Montreal, it came as no surprise. The days following Lorenzo Vittori’s death had been heavy with silence, saturated in ominous undertones and hushed whispers. The world continued to spin despite the power vacuum that lingered. Even Henri-Phillipe Baudelaire had been silent in the days since, perhaps adjusting to the new title placed upon his name.

It was natural to assume the Ivory Syndicate had played a hand in Lorenzo’s untimely demise. But, had they truly? Were the most recent events the Vittori’s attempt at retaliation or was a larger game at play? And where exactly did the Vargas Empire fit into it all?

IMPORTANT INFORMATION —

The city, and each of the gangs was hit hard and fast in some fashion on the night in question. The fire, meant as a distraction as well as a message, served its purpose keeping the police preoccupied as a series of other events took place across Montreal. 

The fire itself remains a mystery. The police are tight-lipped keeping any details to themselves as the investigation continues. However, it is suspected that the body found hanging from the rafters was, in fact, Luca Vecellio. No confirmation has been made, but his sudden disappearance is telling. Evelyn Gagne has been assigned as lead detective on the case. Reports say the building was owned by Alex Yuen. Perhaps, it’s time to pay the Consigliere a visit. .

At approximately 12:30am, in Le Plateau, Emilia King and Nina Ambrose are t-boned going through a green light. All evidence points to a deliberate hit-and-run leaving the girls unconscious and injured. This is witnessed by Savannah Delore and Safiye Aydin.

A deal goes bad, drugs are seized, and cops crawling all over the meeting location. Brie Hunter & Jackie Devos flee before they’re noticed. This leaves the Ivory Syndicate in even shorter supply, unable to meet the demands of their clients. Angry, it’s clear these clients aren’t going to wait around much longer.

Zephyr Jackson & Derek Bishop find the front window to Blood & Bone smashed, inside the shop has been trashed, though it appears that nothing was taken. On the floor, a brick that reads “heavy is the head” is found.

Luna Vargas & Julian Pistris (he certainly has been spotted around the Vargas estate more and more recently) find the Vargas Country Club offices in ruins — Clearly a robbery occurred sometime during the night. It’s unclear what, if anything, has been taken.

The Vittori Hotel loses power — trapping Henri, Mason, Isaac, & Ronnie in an elevator together. They are stuck for approximately 1.5 hours before firefighters are able to safely release them. After the lights come back on, it’s clear that the hotel, too, has been hit. The office, just the same as at Vargas Country Club, has been trashed.

Due to a less than legitimate tip to the FBI, Ivory Films is raided — leaving Vivian Rousseau to be hauled in for questioning. Simultaneously, Catalina Reyes, is being brought in in connection with an overdose. At least that’s what the authorities are claiming. But, do they have any proof?

As the bars begin to close, Javier Suarez, Louis Bergeron, Amelia Kincaid, and Natalie Ruiz find themselves walking along the same street. A black SUV rides slowly down the road, and before anyone knows it, shots are being peppered along the way. Is it a coincidence that the only Ivory in the group is the one to take the bullet?

It’s clear that things have certainly gotten out of hand — We think it’s time for the bosses to meet. Who will be the one to call the meeting?

You are being given creative control of the plot drop based on the information given — you may chose to use these drops however you wish, expanding on them in whichever way best suits your character(s). You may give your characters any injuries you see fit and enrich any backstory you want.

As many of you may have realized, the Vittori has taken a lot of damage recently. It was only a matter of time before the Syndicate was hit as well, which is why this plot may seem very Ivory-centric. — The question, however, is who is behind these attacks on the Ivory’s livelihood, as both the Vargas and Vittori sustained minimal losses during this night as well.

IMPORTANT DETAILS: This connect would be the body guard sent with her to Europe when she went away for college. At first she resented this person, because leaving was suppose to be a way to disconnect from it all. The relationship became sexual, passionate, and somewhat toxic. While feeling safe with this character, she also felt trapped which ultimately lead to a push and pull. She wanted to pretend that they could exist outside of the world created for them, but that was impossible. One day she sent them away, probably after 4 or 5 years, because it was beginning to be too much.

Now they are both in Montreal. What happens next?

They do not have to be hispanic, no. If you reference the Vargas Empire page, you will see that the Vargas has access to trade routes all over, but has their original roots in Colombia. We just ask you to be aware of the Vargas group’s history when making your character to fit it’s history and dynamic.

Montreal, as always, bustles with life from sunrise to sunrise. Without any shortage of activities in the city, it's not difficult for its residents to find the 'next big event' to attend from day-to-day. But this coming week, Pandora's Box starts to push flyers wherever they can; brightly colored, around every corner, and in every e-mail.

The venue was built as a concert hall a hundred years ago, with a lively bar attached that remains open for the locals, even as the hall is devoid of music. The drinks are cheap and tasty, and the event keeps the streets alive and, hopefully, free of ruckus.
