A Letter to Dodger Nation: Chase a Bag, Dont Worry About What They Doing.
Imagine someone telling you how to wipe your ass, and you’ve been wiping ass as long as you were able to reach ass on your own. You would let them know that they seem to have shit twisted not only about you but the way things work in the world. You don’t tell people how to conduct their business because it’s not your business; just like that’s not your ass, to be prancing around the globe giving strangers tips on asswiping 101.

Dodgers President, Stan Kasten said “you keep making this stuff up” when asked about fans worrying about the moves made this offseason; and to many fans, concerns of moves not being made at all. Kasten most likely sped off in a Tesla to have dinner in Malibu after the fanfest, but those same fans that Kasten wont acknowledge, exploded into a rainstorm of tweets and posts after his comments. We won’t know if he ever saw any of the angry answers fans had for him that day for him to know that nobody is “making this stuff up”. When you’re as rich as Kasten, I could imagine how easy it is to live in a bubble. However, I don’t see that as a green light to not prepare for a better answer at a fanfest either. Whether Mr. Kasten thinks fans are jumping for joy after losing back to back World Series’ or not, I’m sure someone in the front office or PR department is in tune with the way fans are thinking right now.

Seeing the team’s President take a page out of Donald Trump’s “fake news” book was kind of like getting spit in the face. Total rejection of your feelings and desires. Kasten’s response was almost as disheartening as someone spilling their guts for a loved one through text messages, only to get a “k” as a reply. There isn’t much fans can do but sit, wait, and watch. Enjoy the ride and at the least let’s just be grateful we heard the truth from the horse’s mouth on what’s important and not important in their eyes.

There’s nothing to take away from this other than what we already know. Spring Training is less than 2 weeks away, Dodgers won’t be signing Bryce Harper or Manny Machado, Yasiel Puig will always be loved in L.A no matter how many times his house was broken into, and we still don’t know what’s going on behind those big mahogany Dodger doors. One thing for certain, two things for sure, we know you “do what you want when you poppin” and all in all, Dodger fans might as well chase a bag, don’t worry about what they doing.

DONT BE SAD IT'S OVER.
Tumblr media
Be glad it happened. We started the 2016 season without Tony Romo & didn’t turn AT&T Stadium into a designer porta potty. Pacemakers were doing numbers, blood pressures were up to the top of the chimney; this is what watching America’s Team feels like. Win or lose, you feel some type of way when the guys with the stars on their helmet are on the field whether they are your team or not. Cowboys lives matter.
We lost that first game of the year to the Giants on paper but if you watch on film, the Giants didn’t beat Dallas; the Cowboys just didn’t win it. What the Cowboys did win that night, was a bright future.
Dak Prescott casually introduced himself as “the new guy” taking over for an injured Tony Romo. He didn’t throw any touchdowns but he didn’t throw any interceptions either. Dak gave us a sense of stability to go with our usual high blood pressure from watching the boys play ball, (especially coming off a 4-12 season).
We dreadfully sat through each Sunday of the 2015 season not knowing what we were going to see from back up quarterbacks Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel. Then just when we thought Romo was coming back to set the season straight and creep into the playoffs, he breaks his collarbone for the 2nd time in a year. From that point, I was ready for the draft picks we had coming after a season that passed us by and didn’t offer us a bottle of tap water like it did.

Good things come to those who wait and God was for sure watching over us all this time. Fast forward to now, this was a blessing as clear as day. Dak and Zeke finished the year breaking records all across the board together. Zeke made his leaps & spun circles around tacklers all year long. He also made “Feed Me” a signature celebration only to have other players copy & misuse it like news reporters “Dabbing” live on the air. Jason Witten surpassed Michael Irvin’s all time receiving yards as a Cowboy. Dez Bryant came back from an early season injury on a mission from God and the Blues Brothers making plays when called upon. He also cemented himself as a team player while some in the media thought he would be a distraction. We even got to see Tony Romo throw a touchdown in Philly where he was knocked out the previous year.

And now, our season is over. The Patriots are in the Super Bowl once again and Jerry Jones has ample time to make decisions we’ll all be talking about this off season. Just don’t cry your way through the rest of the year thinking they won’t light it up all over again, because the Cowboys will be back. Your best friend may not call you back when you want them to and your ex might not come back at all but the future is set, the best is yet to come. So don’t be sad that it’s over, be glad that it happened.... right?
