I believe that any crowdfunding goal can be reached if enough people see and either share, donate or both. It happened with AO3, so surely it can happen with Palestinian families, right?

Thanks to people’s donations, Afaf Masoud was able to evacuate her mother and sister to Egypt. However, three family members remain in Gaza, including Afaf’s 3-year-old niece Marmar.

As of writing this post, €22,403 is still needed. But the fact that most of the money has been raised gives me hope that Afaf’s family can reach their goal and safely evacuate Gaza.

Remember, reblogs are better than likes, and if you’re able to donate, any amount (no matter how small) means a lot to people in need.

Moataz @moatazart, Mariam, and baby Maria are set to make the dangerous journey from Gaza City in the north to Rafah in the south. From there, God willing, they will enter Egypt.

HOWEVER, the money they had allocated to procure shelter and food while in Egypt was utterly depleted by exploitative fees and hidden costs, which we break down in this post. Moataz speaks more on the situation in this post and on his own blog @moatazart, which we ask people to follow and boost. They have a fund going to raise the remaining money, but the fund only has a week and a half left before it closes! They are not even halfway to their goal!

Please share what you can with Moataz’s family so they can find safety and security in Egypt! They have no one in Egypt with whom they can stay and currently nowhere near enough money to secure shelter! After all they have survived, please don’t let this young family be left vulnerable! If they cannot procure food and shelter, they will be extremely vulnerable not only to the dangers of homelessness, but to groups and individuals who prey on refugees!

Safety for Gazan refugees does not end with leaving Gaza! If this campaign is not finished in LESS THAN 2 WEEKS, they will be homeless in Egypt! They are so close to a fresh start, please don’t let all the risks they are taking to find safety be for nothing!

What’s your biggest controversial ACOTAR take?

Mine is that I think under completely different circumstances, Rhys & Nesta would be so hot together. In a way that can only truly work in fanfic, where the only thing happening is pure, outright smut that doesn’t really lead anywhere. Enemies banging it out? Sign me up😏

there is a serious lack of discussion about how mai is zuko’s safe space. we see this in their first appearance together (that’s not a flashback). when mai asks him a simple question, “aren’t you cold?” and zuko, who has a hard time opening up and expressing emotions that aren’t anger or angst, freely and openly starts to tell her his worries about going back to the fire nation. and while people love to chastise mai on her reply, “I just asked if you were cold, I didn’t ask for your whole life story”, I think they misunderstand her approach to this. zuko is worrying and overthinking about something he cannot change, something that will only drive him crazy and she tries to distract him with a joke. and it might fall flat, but she realises this and suddenly she is comforting him with her touch. her hand reaching out so casually towards scar like it’s not a big deal, because it’s not. they’ve known each other for a long time, they’ve grown up together and their relationship was a long time coming. and zuko leans into her hand, and her kiss, without thinking twice about it. because mai is familiar, and mai is comfort and that can be seen when you contrast it to song’s attempting at touch his scar, and how quickly he was to stop her. but it’s not only this moment that showcases mai as his safe space, but also when he’s back in the fire nation. when he’s stressed out and going through a tumultuous time, not knowing what’s right and wrong or what he should do next, it’s mai he goes to. we see this in “nightmares and daydreams” when he spends all day at her house, when he can’t stand being in the palace anymore, mai and her house and her bedroom is his safe space. and here we see her trying to comfort him, trying to say the war meeting is stupid, it would be be boring anyway, and shall we go for a ride around town? it’ll be fun… and even though he’s still sad, he goes back to her house on the day of the war meeting and she’s making him tea. and even when he does get invited to the all day war meeting, she goes to the palace with him and waits for him all day, to see if it went well and to comfort him if it didn’t. when he says that it was everything he thought wanted it to be, she’s immediately happy for him, reaching out to touch him with a smile on her face. mai is who zuko feels safe and comfortable around, even in his vulnerable moments and it’s something we should talk about.

And the reason I think Rhysta *can* work, despite you know, canon, is that all of Rhys's hostility to Nesta is on Feyre’s behalf. If he and Feyre were not mates, what possible reason could Rhys have against her? If we dont change anything about them other than Feyre then I think Rhys would see someone who was also raised with an exacting mother, with cruel rules, who let down their younger siblings, but had been raised for greatness. Shes brave, tough, wears a mask, scrappy, smart, beautiful. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ its not a stretch!

Plus like, acosf was essentially the plot of Nesta becoming high lady of the NC. Like, she belongs to it now in a very real, deep way. In all three States, if we want to call them states: the priestess program, wowing the Con, winning the Rite??? Thats your queen Rhys, I dont know what to tell you.
