Imagine if TigerPaw was BlueFur's apprentice. Every moment of training that they both had together, she made sure that TigerPaw learned the importance of fighting for what you think is right. While others scorned TigerPaw's odd adittude, his weird hobbies, his macabre interests, BlueFur sought to connect to TigerPaw through these traits of his.
But ThistleClaw sees these moments as a sign of weakness, that BlueFur isn't training the "apprentice that should have Rightfully been his". So ThistleClaw approached the young brown tabby, and offered up extra battle training, new strategies that the apprentice could find use in learning. While BlueFur encouraged TigerPaw's hobbies in a healthy way, ThistleClaw only fed into the negative sides of it. Encouraging TigerPaw to ponder the deaths of non-Thunderclan cats, if those cats were ones he would later kill and how exactly he would kill them. ThistleClaw frothing at the mouth with a blood-craving rage as he encouraged TigerPaw to think of gorier and bloodier ideas of how those other Clan cats would die at his own claws, how he could bring honor to Thunderclan and eliminate their enemies.
ThistleClaw's training was rough, violent, it fed into TigerPaw's slowly growing rage and aggression, ThistleClaw told him that his anger only helps him become the bravest, strongest Warrior that the Clans would ever see. He taught him a more extreme version of the code, one that instructed the destruction of the weak, those who could not help their clan were ones who were not worth keeping around alive. Conquering victory and destroying your enemies is how survival is possible. ThistleClaw screamed these words into TigerPaw's face, making the brown tabby's ears painfully ring. BlueFur slowly noticed TigerPaw's growing anger issues and sudden jingoist views, his sudden abandonment of any hobbies he used to love doing.
Later on, far after TigerPaw became a Warrior, ThistleClaw was found dead. During the funeral, no cat really stepped forward to mourn the Warrior, while they honored him as a strong Warrior, nobody was truly close to him. Out of the corner of her eye, BlueFur saw TigerClaw nearly take a step forward towards ThistleClaw's body, only to hesitate and then stay in his spot. To BlueFur, though, she believed she had won, finally. ThistleClaw could never become Deputy and put the forest in harms way. She became Deputy, SunStar passed, she became BlueStar, her deputies came and went, witnessed plenty of births and deaths, losses and victories, new faces. LionHeart died, and she appointed TigerClaw as her Deputy, her apprentice, the two were still as close as they were when SunStar appointed BlueFur and TigerPaw as mentor and apprentice.
She sat in her den, prepared to charge out in response to the sudden screeching and yowling of an ambush. But there stood TigerClaw, the darkness of the cave hanging over his pelt, shadowing BlueStar. Her ears rang and everything felt like it was slowing down. As she stared up at TigerClaw hoisting himself onto his back legs to strike at her, she stared into his eyes. They glowed with a familiar rage that she only ever saw in one other cat, and the truth of it all made her eyes sting and her throat tighten up.
ThistleClaw had won.

I LOVE the trope where there's just a pitifully sad, tragic little healer.
transparent base so that YOU TOO can make your own pitifully sad, tragic little warrior cat.
(FORGOT TO MENTION that this is based on that sad spongebob meme-)

Lol not to be girlie girl but like what if
leafpool fretted over her sister’s “kits” so much that thunderclan endearingly started referring to her as the 3’s second mother.
It would make sense, since of course leafpool couldn’t have kits of her own, so her nephews and niece would fit perfectly into that role for her.
And like- squirrelflight obviously didn’t care in the slightest because of the love she had for her sister. Plus it gave her the chance to stretch her legs whenever the other queens were busy.

obviously fire and ice was written before bluestars prophecy but w the knowledge we have now abt bluestars past i can’t help but think of the scene where fireheart brings cloudkit to thunderclan and how like. bluestar is very angry and cold towards fireheart - he’s been visiting his sister and now brings a kitten into the clan during leafbare, the hardest months - and fireheart, defensive and upset because he’s so tired of thunderclan still judging him, aggravated because he’s trying to help his clan and doesn’t want to let princess down - he just looks at bluestar and asks: “if you had a sister and she trusted you to help her, wouldn’t you do it?” and bluestar is. very quiet. even tigerclaw is quiet and has the “oh, shit” look on his face.

i really love the idea of there being just slight genetic differences between the clans. riverclan having wider tails and webbed paws for better swimming, windclan being thinner and more narrow-faced for arrow dynamic running, shadowclan having darker pelts and better reflective eyesight for night hunting, thunderclan cats being more prone to being tabbies for natural camouflage.. i dunno i feel like stuff like that would actually give somewhat ‘reason’ as to why crossbreeding would’ve been against the code - offspring would be considered genetic anomalies, unable to contribute to whatever clan they’re born in in the same ways as every cat else.
