What if one quiet night in 221B, Sherlock finally makes a decision? 

Imagine him looking up from his microscope, listening to John washing the dishes. They’re not facing each other––which is just as well. Sherlock thinks he might lose his nerve if John sees his face. He’s decided that he’s going to confess it all, as casually and as quickly as possible. John can forget about it in the morning if he wants to. Sherlock hopes with all his heart that John wouldn’t want to.

“I’ve wasted far too much time, John,” Sherlock breaks the silence, hoping his voice isn’t quivering. “All this time, I’ve really been meaning to say that––that I love you––mawkish as it sounds, coming from me.”

Behind him, Sherlock hears John turn off the faucet. He shuts his eyes and forces himself to continue. “And by that, I mean, my love is more than platonic, you see, it’s a romantic love too. In fact, I think it’s all the types of love in the world you can imagine.”

Outside, a wailing ambulance passes by.

“I’ve felt this way for years, John, and I believe I will feel this way for the rest of my life.”

Sherlock doesn’t hear anything but absolute silence. He probably needs to stop talking now but he finds that his mouth won’t cooperate. “I’m not expecting anything and I never will, John. I am perfectly happy being your best friend.”

“Well, I’m not,” John finally responds, emphatically throwing the dish towel against the kitchen counter.

A hot wetness springs to Sherlock’s eyes. This is it, he thought. I’m going to lose him.

The next moment, Sherlock feels a pair of strong arms forcing him to turn around. Sherlock flinches, half-expecting John to punch him in the face. Instead, warm lips press gently against his own. It’s a soft and tender kiss that soon turns desperate and heated.

“You––are more than my best friend, Sherlock––always have been,” John breathlessly declares. “You are everything to me, you understand?”

Sherlock sobs into the kiss, tears of disbelief and utter joy running down his face. He was kissing John Watson––and it was by far, the most glorious feeling in the world.

A thought

If Sherlock would ever tell John how he feels, or kiss him, I feel like he would immediately apologize after he sees John’s shocked staring.

I think Sherlock would feel a need to apologize, not because he thinks his sexuality is something wrong, but because he thinks loving John is wrong. 

I want John to, almost rudely, cut him off, saying, “shut up.” Because he doesn’t want Sherlock to apologize, he wants Sherlock to love him, to kiss him. 

I need John to tell Sherlock to never apologize and I need Sherlock to listen and show his affection towards John in every opportunity he has. 

I wish that John would listen too and he will finally smile and let Sherlock complete him and won’t let himself care about being gay.

Part 1 of my Sherlock Remake

If you missed my rant on the lack of positive queer representation in BBC Sherlock and media in general, I am redrawing Hounds of Baskerville (cos it’s my favorite), one panel at time, adding a positive, canon, queer relationship between Sherlock and John as well as any other LGBTQA things I can squeeze in. I’m hoping to post 5 panels every 2 or 3 days but we will see how it goes. I’m doing this for my own satisfaction, BUT I want the Sherlock fandom to be able to enjoy too! If any one has any ideas on how I can add Johnlocky/LGBTQA things to this episode let me know! Send me a message! Or if you have any other ideas for this project, I would love to hear them and maybe even include them in it! Thanks again for the support!
