This is what happens when you tell a student of art history determined not to disappoint, "no tiaras". She reaches back farther than a thousand year old monarchy to a time when a laurel wreath was a "crown" of victory. She goes old school regal...ancient in fact.

I may be the unpopular opinion person here, but from my POV, they had exactly the chemistry they were supposed to have. We (and by we I mean both the audience and the characters) all saw he's full of shit, except Tissaia. The perfect, manipulative chemistry. Hollywood pair of dreams outside, rotten to the core inside.

Also, I know Yennaia is obviously ship of the series for ppl here, but not everything is about her in Tissaia's life. Even though the scenarists wrote her as if there wasn't any other girl than Yennefer for the archmistress. ("I will not continue to put my girls at risk" my ass, Tissaia, you could at least act like you give a shit about said girls.)

THISSSSSS!!!!

That was the thing that bothered me through the whole season 2/3. Tissaia does not give a flying fuck about anyone except Yennefer and Vilgefortz. The way she treated Triss was such a low blow.

So Triss came to her obviously in distress, literally told her she only trusts Tissaia, and what she gets for that? Yeah, Tissaia rattles the whole story to Vilgefortz first minute she has the chance. Even though Triss is (naturally) hurt, she stays in Aretuza to teach the novices, but when she voices her concerns about the girls missing suddenly, Tissaia brushes her off. Like if her thought mean nothing to the archmistress.

AND THEN SHE JUST WALKS AWAY WHILE TRISS IS BEING INJURED BY DIMERITIUM ARROW?"! Okay yes, I understand she was in shock etc., but if it would be Yennefer shot by that arrow, Tissaia would heal her in a heartbeat and then unleash hell three times worse than Alzur's lightning. But that was just Triss, so why bother, right?

Don't get me wrong, I loved Tissaia and she was my fave character, but that doesn't mean I'll be just positive about everything she does. Especially when it comes to my beloved Triss, because she gets threated like shit throughout the series and no one deserves love more than she does.

I am angry...

I am angry about making a point about Tissaia knowing her students, but still not noticing them getting missing. It would be just so easy to show that Rita now runs the show, so Tissaia does not know every one of them, therefore she is not concerned about them… But she knows their names, their troubles (homesickness) and waves away Triss’s worry. (Even though I still have mixed opinions on this versus the eel thing. Like Sabrina, Triss, Rita… seemed very upset about it, but like do they not know that about a third of their classmates ended as eels?) 

I am angry that after being led into the “purge-room” Vilgefortz still needed to tell her to free them. 

I am angry that Vilgefortz basically spoon-fed her what is going to happen, but she did not do anything. Like she was battle-ready, she had a sort of plan against presumed Redanian soldiers, so even though she was shocked about the revelation of his true nature, she could at least throw him or something. Or better - we could have seen a little bit of fight. But her weak “Please” (absolutely understandable) was all we’ve got, no continuation (absolutely needed). I am really probably the only one, but I enjoyed their relationship. So why not go all the way with their break-up? Show us Tissaia’s anger. Obviously Vilgy would have to run away, because of the big reveal of his power with the fight with Geralt, but at least start it. 

I am angry that the lightning scene was almost for nothing. Like, it looked cool, and Francesca and Fringilla screamed and people run (and few of them died), but ultimately, we have not been shown any real damage. Later, we’ve seen quite a lot of Francesca’s people alive. So, what was the point? Do not have Dijkstra TELLING us that she is the strongest mage, SHOW US! In comparison with the damage done by Yennefer in season 1, this seemed very weak.   

I am angry that even after the “pep-talk” from Yennefer she still did it. We could have seen Yenn talking to someone else and Tissaia maybe realizing, that Yenn is someone who can replace her as a leader of mages. But Yenn was talking TO her. Telling her how important she was. How loved she was. 

I am angry that without Tissaia I have very little reason (except for Mahesh Jadu) to continue watching this show. She was really the heart not only of Aretuza, but of the show. Because all the rest of the relationships feels pretty flat to me. (Maybe except for Jaskier; who is by the way surprisingly less and less annoying.)
