If I must die, you must live to tell my story to sell my things to buy a piece of cloth and some strings, (make it white with a long tail) so that a child, somewhere in Gaza while looking heaven in the eye awaiting his dad who left in a blaze— and bid no one farewell not even to his flesh not even to himself— sees the kite, my kite you made, flying up above and thinks for a moment an angel is there bringing back love If I must die let it bring hope let it be a tale

girl it's really normal for businesses to schedule a date they're taking a job listing down so they can stop new people from applying and review candidates they already have 😭 girl I promise this happened to one of my friends and she wound up getting the job

i was hoping to get this one job so badly and i applied a week ago and the listing has closed since then so i assume they hired someone and it wasn’t meeeee and i really really really wanted the job. it makes me so sad that i have all the qualifications and i did all the right things and somehow i still am not able to break into this industry. i’m a loss for what to do at this point

#they’re always like oh you don’t even necessarily need any publishing industry experience for this role even though it’s a lie of course but #i DO have experience is the thing. i literally interned at one of the big five publishers... and i graduated with an excellent gpa and #i have not had any employment gaps on my resume in the time since and i am just in complete despair like what else do they want from me... #i am never going to fucking make it i think. i should just try something else

just want to commiserate with you, I have a skin condition that gets way worse if I try to shave but my family tries to pressure me to do so anyway :( even if I COULD shave I wouldn’t want to but it’s crazy that they’d rather me suffer than have my body look like what it naturally looks like

right like it’s crazy how people who are supposed to love you unconditionally will prioritize the specter of the perfect woman over the real flesh & blood person who is standing in front of them. your health comes first but only if you still engage in beauty rituals to make yourself socially palatable. awesome!

when my mom facetimed me to tell my little brother was in a psyche hospital she stopped several times to complain about my facial hair i hate it here

that’s actually absurd. one of your children is in the HOSPITAL and you feel the need to waste your energy on chastising your other child for the way their body naturally looks? are there not more serious matters at hand? shameful tbh…

not to have a there’s no hope for women fiona apple moment but i injured my ankle about two weeks ago and it still hurts so i wanna see a doctor about it and my mother’s main concern about this is that my legs are unshaven. she’s like are you sure you wanna go like that (please shave) i don’t think you’re ready (please shave) like are you actually fucking serious right now i have some kind of health issue that i’m suffering from and would like to fix and the thing you’re most worried about is that i’ve left my legs in their natural state. like i don’t care and i don’t think someone who’s been through medical school will care and i think the world has ruined you forever to an extent where you care more about the gendered expectations i am falling short of rather than my health and comfort and safety.
