So z-library is down, which is an absolute tragedy, but for those looking here's a list of alternatives under the cut.
Books
Open Library: this works like an actual library, where there's a waiting list and you can borrow books for x time.
Library Genesis: my personal favourite of the ones in this list, both for entertainment or academic books. Here you can download epubs or other formats, and there's a great ISBN search function.
The Pirate Bay: it doesn't have that many book options, and it has pop up ads, but still a good option.
Sci-Hub: this is for research papers, but you have to type the exact title of what you're looking for.
IT eBooks: books on IT and programming.
Ubooquity: has to be installed to use.
Simon & Schuster: I haven't actually tried this one, but it has a mailing list which you have to sign up to in order to get the books.
eBooks 3000: this doesn't have that many options and there are some pop up ads.
PDF Drive: there's no limits or ads, but it only has PDF formats.
Read Any Book: here you can read books online or download them.
The Eye: sort of an archive with pretty much everything, but you can't search things here, and it's tough to navigate. I think they have audiobooks too.
Audiobooks
Audiobook Bay: here you can download audiobooks.
Booksonic: this is for audiobook streaming, and you have to download the app or install the software on your computer.
Tokybook: this one has many options, and it's easy to navigate.
I know none of these are as good as z-library was, but hopefully they'll do the trick. This could really help people, so pass it on and add if you have more!
When the commander of the Russian cruiser, Moskva, instructed the Ukrainian soldiers stationed on the island to surrender, or else be fired upon, the response was 'Go fuck yourself'.
Thirteen border guards, representing the entirety of the Ukrainian military presence on the island, were killed during the battle after refusing to surrender.
Alongside Moskva, a patrol ship, Vasily Bykov, were involved in the attack, using their deck guns.
Since we’ll never get an actual Cdrama adaptation of LOTR, someone with good video editing skills should take clips from various Cdramas and splice them together to make a LOTR adaptation. The result would be infinitely better and much more faithful to Tolkien’s works than anything Amazon can create.
My intention isn’t to BOSS people around. But people who don’t create on tumblr really have to understand that if creators stop posting here, you won’t have anything else to like but maybe memes. If you want content to circle around to your dashboard… you have to pay it forward and reblog. That is why this website is dying. The Ban is not the only reason.
You’re most powerful when you honor your own rhythm. If your circadian rhythm is nocturnal, don’t follow those “waking up at 4 am changed my life” routines because they’re not for you. If you function best when you focus on a single task, single job, single goal, then working half a dozen sidehustles may not be for you. Honor your own rhythm, work with it instead of against it, and you will achieve so much more than if you blindly follow what’s considered “correct” by social conventions of the time.
Some of my most popular posts on this blog have to do with Chinese names. It seems like a lot of people who reblog those posts enjoy writing and are saving the posts as resources for naming their characters. So, I wanted to share some additional resources that I’ve found and used.
Resource #1: Name104
This site reflects names from Taiwan. It has quite a few different pages/features to explore. Just make sure you only enter in traditional characters–it won’t work properly with simplified characters.
First is the name generating tool (線上取名工具軟體).
You can specify the surname, if you want a one character given name, the second character of the name (aka first character of the given name), number of strokes, and things relating to luck. The specify second character feature is really useful for if you want a common 字辈 across names. The site will generate a bunch of names, and you can click each to learn more.
The tool I find most useful is the name similarity tool (名字相似度查詢). You enter a given name, and it will show a popularity score as well as lists of common names with the characters you included. The score is people/million, taken from college (I think) entrance exam takers over a 15 year period.
The default name when you click on the page is 心怡. This one is pretty popular. If you know you really want a name with the character 怡, you can enter in 怡怡 so it will show all the most popular names with this character (both in the first or second position), like below:
In this house we love & appreciate Elemmakil, captain of the Guard and possibly one of the loyalest friends ever, but we also do not forget he literally said "This is way above my paygrade, go be Ecthelion's problem instead."

Summary:
Some popular theories on the identity of Madam Lan. Because the cultivation world likes its mysteries as much as its love stories, and both the gentry and the common people speculate.
Thingol had the Silmaril the whole time he fostered Turin, right? Like, it was probably sitting down in his vaults somewhere and maybe sometimes he or Mablung would go have a peep to make sure it was still there.
But like. Turin. Smol baby. Bad luck charm. Walking doom magnet. Imagine if he’d gotten his hands on the shiny shiny jewel. How much chaos he could have started. The Tale of Turin Turambar and the Seven Sons of Feanor.
