Aro rep in my books:

Take Me to Your Nerdy Leader (Bowden Anime Club): main character Paige is alloaro. A coming of age YA novel about friends, first times, anime, finding your confidence, and art.

Strange Worlds (Jensen in the Multiverse): The main character is aroace. He vaguely thinks about it in book 1 (where he learns about the identity) and confirms it in book 2. There’s other aro and ace characters. A portal fantasy: Jensen used to be a thief. Now he’s on a quest to save the multiverse from the evil Overlord.

Ancient Magic (Gray Stone Witches): Side character turned main character, Rachel, is alloaro and bisexual. This is confirmed in book 2. In book 3 and onwards she has her own POV. An urban fantasy novel about college witches who struggle to survive in a dangerous magical world while an enemy lurks in the shadows.

Luvian Code: main character, self-love Cupid, Theodosius is aromantic. A cozy urban fantasy novella about him reluctantly mentoring a fledgling Cupid, Kai, and teaching him the equality of the seven loves.

I love having diverse rep in my books and I did an enemies-to-besties subplot in my urban fantasy series, Gray Stone Witches. The main character, Gwen, is hetero (and does have a romance storyline) but her enemy-to-bestie is alloaro (Rachel).

Rachel was one of my favorite characters to write. She’s complex and flawed. Readers hated her in book 1 (while they were still enemies) but then she had a Steve Harrington redemption arc and became a fan favorite.

enemies-to-lovers this, friends-to-lovers that, why do they have to become lovers? can't we do enemies-to-besties??? or they stay enemies?? they stay friends??? why must they always get together.

You know what's fun?

They seem to have made Percy more on the inattentive end of ADHD than hyperactive. Aside from the capture the flag scene, we mostly just see him zoning out, 'daydreaming', the line "I don't think it's the marshmallow's fault I never pay attention".

ADHD barely gets good representation as it is, but I don't think I've ever seen the inattentive type in media like this before. This is going to be huge for a lot of people who don't fall under the hyperactive stereotype umbrella.

I'm just really excited that more people will get the chance to see themselves.
