hey, so i saw this post by @/palipunk [tumblr link] about a gofundme campaign to help someone evacuate gaza right now, with a tweet where the organizers are asking for only 250 people to each donate €100 to help reach the goal. i have almost exactly that and thought to become one of the 250 people, but i realized i could try to help stretch that money even further by matching other people's donations.

so, boost this post and whatever amount of money you have to give--50, 20, 10, 1 or less--donate it to the GFM linked below and then send a screenshot of proof of your donation either in a reblog on this post or in DMs to me, and i'll match it, up to $100 (which is a little less than €100 but it's what i have).

The fact I’m hearing about OFMD fans in particular trying to cook up the idea that anyone hunger striking for Palestine is suffering from some kind of disordered eating is really insulting and screams thinly veiled racism, as someone who’s struggled with disordered eating in the past.

The main difference between disordered eating and hunger strikes is hunger strikes are often done safely and with the consultation of a doctor. From what I’m seeing, people who’re going on hunger strikes have a date set as to when their strike will end, it’s not done indefinitely. It’s planned out, it’s safe, and they’re clear goals in mind. I don’t see y’all kicking up this much of a fuss when white gym bros or athletes go on extreme diets in order to achieve their ideal body type, so what exactly is the issue here?

Anyone else pissed off that the CDC is spending more money trying to get people to stop vaping (no scientific studies showing any more long term health risks than just breathing typical road pollution) while the only thing they'll do for covid is put out clip art pdfs that say "wash your hands :)" (literally thousands of studies showing that covid is airborne and contracting even one "mild" case runs a substantial risk of major health risks and death in the following years)?
