Sneak peek #1/Rafe thinking competitive Kie is going to be hot:

Rafe’s eyes gleam with a healthy dose of competition. His eyes drop to her lips, shamelessly lingering on the gloss covering them. “What do I get if I win?” Kiara raises an eyebrow, clocking Rafe’s unabashed flirting but refusing to acknowledge it. She can’t focus on the way he smirks at her, or how he leans closer with his words ghosting over her lips— not when there’s a victory at stake. “Depends on what I decide to spare when I win.” Rafe pulls back but keeps his hands on her waist, teasing her with a quick squeeze to her hips. He’s endeared by Kiara’s self-assuredness; he finds it cute. “Is that so?” “Careful Cameron,” she purposely uses his last name to distance herself from her competition. This is a warning. Her own hands travel up his back and clasp together at the back of his neck. She brings his head lower to press a chaste kiss to his lips, but that’s not enough for her. She brings his face lower and playfully bites on his bottom lip, releasing it when she pulls back. “I play dirty.”

Sneak peek #2/Rafe later realizing the reality of Kie fully locking in:

JJ goes red in the face from his animated yelling, “Beat his ass, Kie!” Pope shoves his boyfriend aside so he can take his turn to peer over the silver rail of the boat. He frowns in the typical no-nonsense Pope way, lips puckering up in disapproval and concern. “Rafe—don’t you dare let her win.” Pope yells at them instead. Kiara gasps a little, some of the disgusting marina water going into her mouth. A wave hits the back of her head, the cold water sobers her up a little but not enough to lose the grimace she gives Rafe. “Seriously?” Kiara snaps at him and kicks her legs underwater to hit him. The movement is slow and lethargic, her feet barely graze him before he’s swimming away from her. “’Seriously’?!” He repeats in a mocking growl. “You’re the one who pushed me in.” “That's stupid. Why would I be in here if I pushed you in?!” Kiara catches up to him as they both make their way to the slimy ladder that leads back to the docks. “Because you’re trying to sabotage Team Routledge.” Despite the annoyance in Rafe’s tone he still hangs back and waits for Kiara get up on the ladder first. “I don’t need to sabotage the losing team,” Kiara grumbles, wet and irritated. The words don’t go past Rafe. Her clothes feel too heavy and weigh her down—but that doesn’t explain why she’s flying back and off the ladder. Rafe lets go of her ankle at the last second so she falls back into the filthy waters. “Douche!” Kiara splutters as she resurfaces. “Sore loser.” Rafe yells back as he climbs up the ladder, leaving Kiara to seethe and plan her revenge.

What does krgc stand for

krcg is the nickname I've lovingly given my riara rom-com fanfic "Kiara and Rafe’s Comprehensive Guide on Gaining Insurmountable Human Attention". She's a mouthful so we just refer to her as the "Kiara and Rafe's Comprehensive Guide" or KRCG :)

I’m gonna be soooooo honest with you and tell you I’ve written like two sentences of chap 18 😭 not that I don’t want to— it’s just that it’s the bachelorette/bachelor party chapter and I have such a grand idea of what I want to include in it that it’s become a TERROR. My notes app is an absolute mess.
