As discussed, onto the TS4 pics!

Yesterday, I had an unexpected WFH day due the storms that blew across the state that knocked out power to my work. I couldn't access anything beyond my Outlook, and since I had lamented not taking the day off while I assumed I would have to go in... I took this as divine intervention and ran TS4 in between answering emails.

Again, for those of you who have been around long enough, you may recognize Seth McDonnell and Bethany Adams well. Seth's starred in a defunct Xenophilia Challenge and other various saves, and Bethany is one who has either been a good friend or his girlfriend throughout. In this save, they once again found themselves as romantic partners.

Initially, this save was going to be one where it was relatively drama free. Seth would be at home, working as a freelance programmer/homemaker while carrying their children. Bethany would be pursuing her dreams of breaking into the fashion industry, working in a hybrid fashion "in the office" and at home for some "on site" consulting. Things were going well initially, with both their careers and Seth's pregnancy progressing fine. They even managed to befriend Johnny Zest, who happened to be their neighbor in Oasis Springs.

But then, things started to turn.

Shortly after getting officially engaged, it felt as if Bethany was reacting negatively more to Seth's friendly interactions. Caleb Vatore showed up one night, and I let Seth introduce himself to him. While I was clicking through friendly interactions in the pie menu (as the overhaul of the system threw me for a loop), Seth autonomously began to flirt with Caleb. The two did it enough that the romance bar began to form!

Love Day rolled around, and Bethany had work. I figured that her and Seth would get to do stuff after work... until Caleb called Seth up for a date. The two went out to a bar in Mt. Komorebi, where the two exchanged their first kiss and some cream soda. Seth returns home, and engages in minimal romantic interaction with Bethany.

The very next day, Johnny just? Dies suddenly? And in that depressing start to the morning, I had Bethany "yell at" Seth over a lack of a Love Day. That then prompted an interaction to pop up to ask Seth "what his problem was," to which he responded that it was Bethany.

To say I was flabbergasted was an understatement.

However, rolling with that, I had Seth call of their engagement and move out to Glimmerbrook for the time being. I envision that he and Caleb will officially get together soon, but the dust needs to settle on this before they pursue anything further.

TS2 Downloads Ramblings

I've got some TS4 pics to drop in a moment, but this post is to ramble about TS2!

TS2 is still my all-time favorite entry in the series. Problem is, I've felt overwhelmed with it the past few years. I think I finally realized the reason why: It's my damn downloads folder.

Now, this folder clocks in at 4.72GB, as I compressed several years ago and the download standard in the community is to compress your files before upload. I've also gone through several computer iterations, with my current one running an SSD so the size is no issue. However, if you've been around long enough you may remember The Defaulting Project of 2015. If you don't, you can view it chronologically by clicking HERE.

If I could tell my 17 year old self anything, it would be to not default the whole damn game. The entire set of hairstyles, maybe, but some of the outfits are still fine by me (though some of them can stay back in the 2000s where they belong).

I was thinking about this last night... I may just dump* whole downloads folder and start from scratch. While the default project is from 2015, I have had the contents of the folder since 2011. That's 12 years worth of custom content I don't always use any more! I'm thinking about doing a soft start next weekend, since I'll have more time with the holiday.

*For the record: I'm not deleting the whole thing. This folder is an artifact in of itself. It'll still exist in my backups like my other CC for games, but it won't be the "main" folder any more.

Last up in the starting rotation: The Oldies and The Burbs!

I first renovated the houses I moved the families into at the top of the rotation.

The Burbs were relatively uneventful, mainly focusing on building up relationships with the welcome wagon, and getting John and Jennifer jobs.

The Oldies had a little more action, as Mary-Sue was the inviter for the Downtown outing! She and Coral shared a coffee at the park, while Herb jammed with some Downtownies (who were less than approving of his daughter).

Also I played a quick day with the May's, but didn't take any pictures. To quickly recap them:

Lisa went to school and got to know a townie classmate. She also got a job, but I can't remember which career it was in.

Barb still had a day off of work, so she spent it building up her relationship with Darren Dreamer. She also caught the ire of Mortimer by spying during the day through the telescope (again).

Continuing with my previous round of rotations, the Pleasants were the last of the main 'hood families to play!

The borked trend of scripted events carried over to the Pleasants... no prompt and no chance card for Mary-Sue. Doesn't mean that I don't know the script and hired Kaylynn over, however.

Angela brings home Dustin like usual from school, and bickering between him and Daniel occurs.

I didn't need to intervene at all regarding Daniel getting caught cheating, because Kaylynn (and ACR) did it for me.

Angela and Lilith put aside their differences for a brief moment to be pissed off at their dad and Kaylynn.

Mary-Sue divorced Daniel... leading to some very interesting memories for the two of them (positive thing for her, negative thing for him).

Daniel moved out into one of the condos in that district, which I quickly renovated and played a day to catch him up to speed with everyone else. (If it wasn't clear already, I'm doing one-day rotations to start the 'hood off! I'm not sure if I'm keeping it up after this.)

So, I ended up playing some more of that Pleasantview reboot a week or two ago... more highlights! (At the expense of progress on my homework, as always.)

The Broke family was up next in the rotation! Brandi popped, Beau got some toddler skills, and Dustin... successfully sneaked out? I'm not sure what the issue with the scripted events is here (mayhaps a bit of borkedness due to mods?), but I'm playing this 'hood here and there until it's crashed and burned.

The Dreamer family was up next, and Darren ended up going out on an outing with Bella, Cassandra, and Mary-Sue.

Darren made his move... approved by Don, creeping in the background.

Now I was allowing some level of autonomy here, meaning I wasn't in full control for the duration of the outing... which lead to a public woohoo between Darren and Cassandra, thanks to ACR. Cassandra looks pretty pumped about it. When we get back to Goth manor, we'll see if this helped her get over Don (or not).

Played a little sims for the soul tonight, with TS2 being the version of choice! Highlight reel, albeit with minimal pictures includes:

Remaking two old OCs in Pleasantview, getting hit with the "this application has crashed" error 13 minutes in. Classic TS2, expected as much, 10/10 game

Anyway. Said OCs are Barbara (Barb) and her daughter, Lisa. Yes they're just generic preset heads lightly tweaked but these are recreation of my OCs I made when I was like? 12? So I get a pass

Barb is eventually going to enter a relationship with Don, is a secret agent (hence the move to Pleasantview)

Barb and Lisa BOTH got harassed by Mortimer after looking through the telescope (foreshadowing!)

Kaylynn doing an idle where it looked like she was punching Don will never not be funny. However he did her, Nina, and Dina in quick succession after that picture so it does get less funny

Spun the picker wheel and sorry Cassandra, no marriage to Don this time!

Bella being the downtown call is hilarious, so the family goes out save Alexander

Mortimer has a date with Bella... all to end up marrying Dina when I load the Caliente lot. #Awkward, and would explain that harassment from earlier...

Maybe I'll formalize this more, buuuut it was fun to just vibe in-game after not doing so in like, forever

Hello again! The issue seems to be with most of the sets, the list as following: Set 1, folder AM (also nothing in the Nude Mesh folder). Set 2, folder Nude Meshes, TM and Images. Set 4, folder AM and TM. That's the issues I could find again at least! Thank you so much for following up! :D

Based upon your information, I've gathered them all into separate .zip files without folders. I think this may help alleviate some of the issues? If any still persist, please let me know!

Since I bundled some of the files together without folders, keep in mind as always that "AM" refers to Young Adult/Adult male sims, and TM refers to Teen male sims.

Regarding my last ask about maternity clothes for male sims that you made, a lot of the downloads seem to be broken - in that way that when I download the folder, some of the folders within are not folders anymore, but somehow an executable file/Unix file? (I'm on mac) :((

I know for me it's fine, but I do operate on Windows... though there is a possibility that the files having "mat" in their name could be confusing your system. I think I could rename them and reupload them as an attempt to troubleshoot. Do you remember which set(s) had the problem?

Hi! I don't know if you make this anymore, but you are the only one I've found that actually made more than basegame maternity clothes for male sims. Would it be possible to make a request for the clothes from World Adventures to also have male pregnancy morphs? Love the work on the other ones, and downloaded them all just to avoid floating heads, even if I'm playing with a historical save!

I would be interested in rounding out the WA set! I know I tossed on the sweater and t-shirt that came with the EP in my base game pack, but I never finished the rest of the outfits. While I can't make a promise on immediate fulfillment, it's definitely something I can do relatively soon! (At the earliest, within a month, at the absolute latest the end of the year, but I doubt it'd take that long.) I got back into the groove this summer with some of the Supernatural EP outfits, so it would be nice to wrap those up alongside a new project, too.

So, way back in March when I did an update post I said something along the lines of starting grad school in fall. While true, I ended up starting in the summer term (a week and a half ago) to fully maximize my coverage of what the Uni goes in on.

However, after trying to slog through a shit ton of work (since I got behind as I took a mini-vacation over the weekend), I am once again procrastinating thinking of starting a new sims legacy. Some things never change.

We’ve got a database for Bodyshop defaults, object defaults, palettes, Maxis match custom content, multple databases for conversions; so if you want to download something, you should have no problem finding it. But what if you want to know something instead? Then you better have that one tutorial you need bookmarked or you’ll have to offer your first child to Google in order to find it on the 8th search page between the clothing stores and videos of people putting glue in their noses. Well, let’s make an end to that kind of nonsense.
