How long had it been since he had laid eyes on the woman who saved him? The woman who had gone above and beyond to keep him, and his friends safe? Too long. Tidus had spent days mulling over the best way to find her, how to reach out to her, to tell her that he was back. Maybe she already knew, and was choosing to avoid him. Was she mad? No... She could not have been, right? Ugh. He groaned inwardly and fell back onto the hot sand underneath him. The waves were meant to calm him, not make him think of her. Why was he so worried, anyway!? This was not like him at all! He made himself stand up, and brush the grittiness from his clothes. He was going to find her, and say hello! He had done it with pretty much everyone else! Then, he heard a laugh. Tidus turned, looking for a glimpse of blonde hair, anything that would be her... "Rikku!! Hey!! Rikku!!!" He shouted, waving his arms above his head with all the enthusiasm he could muster.

Now, Tidus had certainly seen some strange faces recently, but these ones? Jeeze, these ones took the cake for weird faces. They weren't from his Zanarkand, and they certainly were not from anywhere in Spira that he had been, and he was damn sure he had been everywhere! A few people felt familiar, like an ache in the back of his brain. There, but not quite. Maybe he had met them before? Maybe they had come back, just like he had, and he had met them in the Farplane. Sin was not around any longer, so it was not possible... Was it? He frowned and moved towards the stranger in front of him. "Hey! You look kinda lost! Can I, uh, help?"

Tidus kicked at the dirt beneath his feet thoughtfully. Did she become a Gullwing... Just to find him? He knew that he had been part of the reason, just not the only reason for it. "Huh..." He murmured, before refocusing his attention on the woman standing in front of him. "A fiend hunter would be pretty damn cool!" He told her with much enthusiasm. "Man, I miss hunting down fiends! It'd be great to hunt 'em down again! Haha!" Abruptly, Tidus threw his fist into the air, hid by a sudden wave of thought. "Hey, maybe we should team up sometime? You and Yuna are pretty close, right? And you're the only friend of hers I don't know too well!"

"Sounds like fun." Paine had done her share of chasing after Yuna, just like she’d done her fair share of chasing after Paine. At his question, she shook her head. "No, we disbanded after Yuna found you." Paine had found what she was looking for, as had Yuna. While their time had been fun together, everything had to come to an end sometime. "I’m a solo sphere hunter now as well as a fiend hunter." Though the age of Sphere Hunters was slowly fading away into the past. Less and less spheres were popping up. It had been put on a back burner for Paine right now.

"Nah!" He tossed his head back, laughing. "They're all old!" His eyes fell onto Rikku, taking her in. She was so different than when he last saw her. Even the way she spoke was different! Could two years really change someone so much? "A while is an understatement! It's been... Two years, right?" He grabbed her shoulders firmly. "You're definitely my Rikku though!"

"Not even they could put up with yer antics, huh?" The blonde laughed a little and put her hands on her hips, "Ya haven’t changed a bit though! Still the same old goofy guy!" Rikku stepped back and looked at herself, suddenly realizing that she had changed. She was more grown up than she’d last remembered, and he was still the same old Tidus. A smile grew on her face, it was nice to know that something’s might never change, "I’m not sad, big guy! I’m happy! I haven’t seen ya in a while!"

Tidus laughed softly, suddenly feeling uncomfortably shy. After Yuna, of course. He always would, until his heart stopped beating, until the world stopped spinning. "Well," He began, shoving his hands into his pockets and looking skywards. He shuffled his feet. "After Yuna, fresh air, the sea, a whole lotta stuff I guess." He srhugged casually. "What have you been doing? Are the, uh, Gullwings still around and kickin'?"

"Hmm." It sounded like Yuna. Though Paine hadn’t realized that she was one to chase after things. Usually these things came to her. Perhaps she’d misjudged the brunette a little. All the same, it could be something she could ask the woman when she saw her next. "And what have you been chasing after I wonder?"

Hi, how are you today? Yuna was sitting on her bed, knees drawn up to her chest. Are you well? How many months had ticked by now? Is everything okay? Twelve, thirteen, fourteen… Can you hear me? Fifteen, sixteen, seventeen… Are you there? Seventeen… He was seventeen… I miss you. She felt the tears well up in her eyes again and the pain in chest swell; her heart bursting at the seams. I’m waiting for you. “Tidus… I’m so sorry…!” Her heart burst, the emotions spilling over and rolling down her cheeks in hot, aching waves. I love you too.

He wrapped his arms around her, laughing and embracing her tightly. God, was she different, or what? "Hey, don't look so sad to see me!" He grinned at her. "I did, I guess. But, the Farplane got sick of me and kicked me out! I think I caused too much ruckus for their liking!" Tidus laughed loudly, his head falling back. "It's good to see you, Rikku. I'm glad you're here."

The blonde looked over to where she had heard her name being called. Tidus? The girl scrambled, and looked over to him, “Tidus!” She yelled, running over and giving the other guardian a hug. She hadn’t seen him since Sin, and now he was here. She unlatched from the hug and tried her best not to cry, “Hey! Whatcha doin’ here, big guy? Thought ya had some business.. Somewhere else?”

Tidus removed his hand, tucking it into one of his pockets and smiling at her. Definitely not one for touching, he noted. Or talking much. "Yuna? Oh, yeah. She's great! Enjoying the Calm." He nodded his head twice, as if agreeing with himself. "Spends most of her time chasing after kids and puppies, though."

"A pleasure." Her head tilted to the side ever so slightly, though she didn’t take his hand. She wasn’t much of a hand shaker. "How’s Yuna doing?" She assumed that they were both still in Besaid. Tidus would know how Yuna was doing better than Paine would.

Another unfamiliar face, another day. Tidus was perched on the edge of a seat in the city centre of Bevelle, watching the world pass him with mild disinterest. He had seen countless people he never knew pass by him, and a few faces who felt vaguely familiar, but only one stood out to him. An unmistakable face, a face that all of Spira knew.  Baralai, the Praetor of New Yevon. He was respected by all in Spira. Times had been difficult lately, to say the least. Full of sadness, and frustration. Perhaps the Praetor would have some words of wisdom, or something more interesting to say. He stood, approaching carefully, and easing through the crowds. "Er, Praetor Baralai... I have some questions for you."

Tidus had spent most of his day ambling around the beach, kicking a Blitzball back and forth to whoever approached. They never stayed long, wandering off with every passing breeze, with more blowing back in. However, with the next rolling in of strangers, he caught a glance of someone he knew. Someone so unmistakably familiar. "Rikku!" He called to her, a grin spreading across his face. "Rikku, over here!"

Tidus certainly hadn't been around for some time, but surely, his memory of Spira wasn't that bad. The man he was staring at was dressed so... Strangely! It certainly wasn't anything he'd seen someone wearing before. Perhaps it was some strange new fashion trend he hadn't caught on to before... Or maybe... Just maybe... Sin had gotten him, too? "Er, you! Yeah!" He jabbed his finger towards the man and rushed toward him. "You! Who are you!?"
