WELCOME TO HERMIT-A-DAY MAY 2024!

I'm thrilled to bring this challenge to you all for the second year in a row! Hermit-a-Day May is a challenge inspired by Hermitober, but with a twist: instead of theme prompts, we focus on a specific Hermit every day!

THE RULES: 1. Any type of fanwork is welcome so long as it features, or is otherwise inspired by, the Hermit of the day. 2. Tag #hermitaday to have your fanwork reblogged, or submit it directly to the blog (Please note that while I recognize the value of fanworks involving more mature themes, and they can certainly count toward challenge completion if you're keeping track for yourself, content on this blog will be kept "PG-13" so that all may enjoy.). 3. Fanworks for one Hermit posted after the day rolls over to another Hermit's day (per the US Central time zone) will be reblogged in a big queue in June. 4. I am not interested in seeing captions or tags in which you disparage your art/skills. We're all improving all the time. Be kind to yourselves.

WHY SHOULD I PARTICIPATE? To show love to every Hermit, from the most to least subscribed, from those who have been on the server from day one to those who only joined this season! And because challenges are fun! And because, this year, there's an extra dimension to the event: a fundraiser for Gamers Outreach, featuring art incentives by @rendiggitydog and @belmarzi.

GRAND TOTAL INCENTIVE: For every $150 we raise for Gamers Outreach, belmarzi will make 10 seconds' worth of animatic, featuring as many Hermits as she can fit into the time frame.

INDIVIDUAL DONATION INCENTIVE: For every $65 you personally donate to the fundraiser during the month of May, Rae rendiggitydog will draw you a shaded flats commission of a Hermit of your choice.

TFC - May 5th While he may no longer be with us physically, TFC left behind him a legacy of quiet care and good humor, and Hermitcraft would not have been the same without him.

FRIENDS OF HERMITCRAFT - May 12th There are plenty of shows, podcasts, competitions, other servers, and more woven into the internet ecosystem around Hermitcraft, and plenty more people involved in them: just as a small number of examples, Season 9's Rift opened up to a whole server of Emperor friends, and there are always allies to be made in MCC and enemies to be made in the Life Series. Today is for celebrating all of those who, while they may not be Hermits themselves, exist and entertain in proximity to them.

FAVORITE "ALT" HERMIT - May 19th HoTGuY and Poultry-Man. Helsknight and Evil Xisuma. Renbob and - look, you get the idea. This server is full of theater kids ready to toss on an alternate skin and play into a brand new character at the drop of a hat. Who's your favorite?

GROUPS AND COLLABS - May 26th This month is all about one Hermit a day... but what we really love is when they interact with each other. What does your favorite duo or group of Hermits get up to together?

BigB is a Watcher. It's just that it took him until Secret Life to figure out how to use his powers. The Backrooms are essentially his way of hacking into any World/Server and bypassing its firewalls. So say he wanted to visit/sneak into HC10 for whatever reason, he'd just go into his Backrooms in his world and pop out in the Backrooms under the Permit Office!

his back rooms also connects to the one in the decked out waiting room.

he leaves gifts in the new backrooms he finds, newly harvested moss one day and freshly baked cookies another. in their place was always another gift in that was slightly more valuable.

he knows not to linger in the stange backrooms, he knows he's not safe if he stays too long. they are always watching afterall.

Okay, thanks for the respond. Now i want to know the reaction of Iskall to Tubbo being sent to Purgatory not once, but twice. I think he's gonna be furious that his son got traumatized...

iskall is a very easy person to annoy. but to anger? that was much harder, so when tubbo messages him that he got sent to purgatory he laughed it off. sending a funny message back about not even hell would want to keep him.

tubbo messages again, purgatory was not so funny the second time around, not with the additional information tubbo had left out the first time around.

the gods were fond of tubbo, he ran their vaults well. they would along with jordon run the halls red for threatening tubbo.

-Removed double name tagging. This year, all submissions for each day's Hermit will only be tagged with the shorter version of their name (where applicable). For example, fanworks for Stress will be tagged "#stress," not "#stressmonster101, #stress." Notably, fanworks featuring Joel SmallishBeans will be tagged #joel.

+THE BIG ONE: Added a secondary goal for the Hermit-a-Day May event: a complete fundraiser for Gamers Outreach.

The way this community comes together to celebrate the Hermits and each other is incredible. There are something like 1,800 fanworks on this blog from last May and early June! And that's not counting what was posted on other social media platforms as the prompt calendar spread.

I wanted to do something with that momentum - something with a little more substance behind it than last year's spontaneous "hey we should all donate $14!" So I've partnered with two amazing fandom artists you may remember from their daily posts last year - @belmarzi and @rendiggitydog - so that as a community, we could make even more awesomeness come from this event.

I have created a Tiltify campaign so that donations can be made directly to GO - I will never touch the money - and tracked for our incentives:

I've put a lot of work into making this happen, and I cannot tell you how excited I am for May to arrive! The campaign will be opened in mid to late April together with the posting of this year's prompt calendar.

We've got some great stuff cooking up for y'all this year, between the whole month of fanart and the fundraising incentives! Thank you all for being a part of it! The askbox is open for questions, if you have them.

To celebrate the upcoming anniversary of 4 years of Dream Smp. This event will be focusing of the different eras of Dream Smp. Split into ten eras, each one will be 4 days long.

Along with the listed eras we have a little cheat sheet of lesser known events but you are not limited to the listed events.

As a creative event all mediums are accepted. All ratings are accepted tag/rate your works appropriately.

This is a week long writing-based challenge (artists could hop on but I don't how that will work). This will be one (1) singular piece of writing written throughout the week or less if you choose a time based challenge.

You will choose a difficulty level (1-5) to begin. You are highly recommended to not choose Level 5, it is there to be impossible difficulty. Then you will select either a word-count based or time based challenge.

There are no content restrictions and is open to any MCYT community (not just Hermitcraft). I only ask for you to tag appropriately and use common sense.

In light of recent events we will not be doing the MCC Verse and will avoid writing about Wilbur for the foreseeable future. Instead we will be writing for Mezalea Tattoos, the runner-up for the poll.

mcc verse has won the poll! seeing how it has been about a year and a half since anyone last touched it will be going through some updates.

starting with teams, please send in team placements! maybe it's the unlikely duo of mumbo and iskall with martyn and ren or any other MCYTer

teams do not have to include a hermit, players do not have to be in a prior mcc. be indulgent in your team matching! who do you want to see torment each other or will they get along like a house on fire?

this will be considered the rough start of our mcc verse event!

I want angst with Iskall Dad to q!Tubbo how would he react that after a few days or months he arrived on Quesadilla Island, he leaves for a moment earning coins for his little familia and then. His communicator beeped. He stops and take a glance and suddenly the world felt slowly spin on his sight. As his gaze focus on a single message.

Tubbo was slain by Richarlyson using a sword.

No it can't be... please it can't be true...

Ice filled his veins. His communicator repeated beeped, showing the incoming stunned and horrified messages from the other island residents. He was only gone for a few minutes how could this happen? Tubbo was there. Safe.

Iskall palmed his warpstone, gripping the edges hard enough to draw blood. The glowing purple stone greedly absorbed the blood taking it as payment over experience.

Quickly warping over to the nearest waystone, Iskall slammed his coin card on the top. Cracking it, causing a chunk of stone on the side to fall off. He needs to go to spawn. Tubbo and the others were out adventuring today which meant broken beds. Which means tubbo wouldn't spawn back as his base. He needs to be faster.

Stumbling through the thick void magic that lingered on his clothes; no matter how many times he brushed it off. Scanning the area, in the midst of the tall walls covered in vines and builds made of quartz, Tubbo was nowhere to be found.

Iskall whispers prayers to his gods. Promises of blood and knowledge and hearts and gold and bone and everything that the gods would be willing to drink and take from his hands.

Paying no mind to the players who stumbled in behind him, he drew his dagger out; carelessly cutting open his arm, exposing his veins to the world. Holding the arm dripping blood over his idol of the gods. Waiting for the gods accept the sacrifice.

It wasn't worth what Tubbo was but he could pay that price another day, the vault favored his after all. No promise to the gods given with his fervor would be forgotten. But what was a little ache compared to his son back in his arms?

The Federation would make for an excellent gift of his gods.
